How An Army Commercial Shows We’re Rapidly Falling Apart

Submitted by Mary Christine

“Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it’s usually something unusual. But now I know why I have always lost women to guys like you. I mean, it’s not just the uniform. It’s the stories that you tell.” – Stripes

I didn’t know I was a lycanthrope.  I guess that makes me an unawarewolf.

The United States’ Army has a new ad campaign out.  The slogan, however, is fairly familiar:  “Be All That You Can Be.”  This became the slogan of the Army’s recruiting campaign back when they had to convince people to join because driving a fast car like Burt Reynolds while marrying busty blondes was a much more interesting career option.

That slogan lasted from 1980 to 2001, with “Army Of One®” was replaced by Call of Duty™ online mode.  The Air Force was encouraged by that slogan, and decided to use “Air Force Of Only One Plane®” since that was all they could afford if they decided to go with the F-35.

But things have not gone well for Big Green recently.  I heard in the last year, they actually recruited only one soldier, and he was a decoy.  I kid.  They had a goal of something like 60,000, but only recruited 45,000.  I’m guessing that’s because the other 15,000 decided that working at McDonald’s® was a better option.

Want me to stop telling Rolling Stones jokes?  You can’t always get what you want.

And, why not?  The videos showing recent Army performance have been, um, less than stellar.  From the pullout of Afghanistan, to Biden forcing troops to take the Vaxx or take a hike, it’s been bad.  The commercials for recruitment have likewise been horrific.  If it’s not good enough for the wise Latina child joining the armed forces and then looking back on her lesbian biracial parents who gave her hormone replacement therapy at age three, well, it’s not good enough for me.

I think the Army missed some real gems in going back to that old slogan.  They could have chosen some of these:

  1. Join the Army, where the camouflage makes you invisible to your ex.
  2. Join the Army, and let us take care of your social life . . . because you won’t have one.
  3. The Army: Where you can kill two birds with one grenade.
  4. The Army: If you needed a good excuse to shave your head.
  5. Join the Army: Where you’ll find that “hurry up and wait” isn’t just a saying, it’s a way of life.
  6. The Army: “You’ll learn to stay awake while standing up.”
  7. Join the Army and see the world, through the scope of a rifle.
  8. The Army: “You’ll make lifelong friends.  Or enemies.  Or both.
  9. The Army, where you can put your Call of Duty™ skills to use, just without the respawn.
  10. Join the Army, and get one free PEZ™ dispenser every year.

Why did the magician sleep at Motel 6®?  Because only he could make the stains disappear.

I mean, who traditionally makes up the Army, anyway?

Actually, white dudes.  In the terminology of today, people who were born male at birth and score low on the diversity index.  Hell, in 2023, I’m wondering when “mail” will show up as a gender – “Oh, baby, put me in the big slot!  I’m an oversized package!”

I looked up the makeup of the Army using the most recent statistics I could find.  They’re kind of murky, because they don’t break out “Hispanic” by itself.  I guess I can understand that.  Even though I’ve been described as “so Danish that’s the picture in the dictionary” I can also claim that at least 25% of my ancestors were born in Mexico.  Were they Danish?

Yeah.  Still don’t understand how they dealt with the sunburn.  But Pugsley can check that box on the college application.

2 is a prime number.  That’s kind of odd, right?

So, the stats I could find are murky.  It looks like the numbers of white people in the Army has gone down 2% in two years from 70% to 68%.  And what’s one percent?  About 5,000 guys.  So, of their missing 15,000, you could make an argument that 10,000 of them might have been white guys that didn’t join up.

I know three kids that were friends of The Boy that were gung ho about joining the military, until November, 2020.  Then?

“Nah, I think I’ll work.”

So, to recreate the idea that perhaps the Army wants white guys to join up, the reversion to the “Be All That You Can Be™” slogan was the reaction from the Army.  To be clear, they’re still using food made before 1960, ammo made before 1970, so why not a slogan that was made in 1980?

Oh, Francis, where are you now?

Enter the new video.  Where in the last few, the only thing not visible was a white guy, this video is chock full of white guys.  At one location where the video was stored on YouTube©, the comment section was more disastrous than French naval performance at Trafalgar.  I mean hundreds and hundreds of comments that, well, I’ll just post a few of them and let you draw your own conclusions.  I did not cherry pick these, and did not see a single, not one, zero positive comments.  Feel free to go give a look yourself – the video is here (LINK).

Yup, pretty bad.  Both of my sons have received text messages from Army recruiters, heck, as late as 2016, I presented to The Boy the options of West Point and Colorado Springs for colleges.  He noped out of both choices.  Pugsley is not at all interested.

I am not disappointed – rather, the opposite, and became doubly so after the decision by the Biden Administration to force armed forces members to Vaxx up.  Sure, the DOD rescinded the requirement this year on January 10, but that didn’t help the people who already Vaxxed up.  Wonder if the VA is going to cover that?

Regardless, I would hazard a guess that confidence in the cohesion of the country is lower than at any time in my life.  Perhaps the real slogan should be “Be All That You Can Binge-Watch On Netflix®”?

I can’t believe the Army hasn’t turned off the comments yet…lol! Some recent ones:

Our enemies lie within the borders of the Dstrict of Columbia, the USA, and our “greatest allyAs a US Army Vet.

These comments.. woah.

I quit reading after 20 minutes and never saw One Single positive comment.

I sure hope they (The Army/DoD) read these.

I think the DoD, is trying to get more people to become “anti-Semitic”. That is what they are recruiting for.

A similar one (paraphrasing) “lol..at least they won’t be hard to beat in a civil war.”

They can’t fight if they can’t get their daily hormone injections to keep them looking like women.

Another asked if they would have to march while wearing red high heels.

They just go on and on like that. Some other vets said they would never re-up. They couldn’t get out fast enough.

I’m one of John’s faithful followers. Gave up watching the ad after 30 or so seconds this AM. It’s disgusting. His comments thread has 3-4 stories about how f*cked up the Army is these days.

I had great duty, got loads of chicks and always had a nice truck and plenty of booze. Plus was in absolutely fantastic physical condition. Wasn’t super popular among the rank and file (was an MP). We didn’t have snowflakes in the army then. The military has become corporate mercenaries.

It’s been 40 years since I wore BDUs on a daily basis, but I think current recruits can draw the same conclusions I did. Your asshole boss will be your asshole boss until either you or he PCS or ETS. Nothing says slavery like a job you can’t quit with a boss you can’t get out from under.

True.
They get promoted faster. While the others are busy doing the grunt work, they’re networking and supervising (looking for authority, in other words, that breeds power over others)..
It took me 10 years to make E-5 while many of my counterparts made E-6 faster.
I didn’t bother with “Soldier of the Month” boards as practice, I was too fucking busy trying to learn my trade effectively. I liked my work, it fascinated me.
It was harder to make rank when mid-grade lifers would re-classify into your job specialty. Promotion opportunities would slow and the slugs who had rank but no real technical expertise became your supervisors and told you how to do your job. I’d hang out with “Nam vets or nerds who knew their jobs and would share tips. “Soldiering” was secondary to learning a trade that had a financial promise outside of heirarchical servitude to fools, drunks, drug addicts, and pedos …
Yeah, those were the heroes you can “thank for their service”. Don’t tell me thanks, I’ll just look at you strangely and not reply.

I said fuck that. Ten years and I was gone to the civilian side, taking zero orders from the lifer idiots who were simply looking for a pension and free medical. Ended up being a contractor for the MIC, making multiples of what they earned – and 10X better, mentally and technically, than they were. When I’d take contracts and volunteer for overseas work, I saw only a handful of people I went through training or served with during the next 20-some years of being a civilian mercenary.

The Army was simply a stepping stone and another life – I talk to absolutely NONE of them now, ever.

If you were good at your job, expect a backstab or being ignored for promotion. Nepotism and favoritism ruled, as is did fuckery among subordinates who’d screw their way to promotions.

I don’t know if it was just my local units, but it was the case in both branches that the infantry does a lot of trading to fit personalities to a fire-team/squad/platoon.

Of course this wasn’t always practical and it had its limitations e.g. good luck trying to trade a platoon sergeant if you got a bad one, because nobody will take him.

I used to regularly recommend the military as option for kids needing direction after they graduated. Outside of the decision to marry my wife, I think the Army was one of the smartest choices I made as a young man. Would I make that same recommendation today? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Does anyone with a minimal IQ think our military is capable of defeating anyone? At this point, I don’t think we could manage a victory Uruguay much less the Chinese. In fact, I think if Texas really wanted to push the secession issue again, the conflict would be over before General Milley (She/Her) could get his make up on.

Buy ammo folks, and practice. I have grave doubts about our future.

Joining the military to fight rich people’s wars was always a retard decision, recruitment prays on those too young or too stupid to realize what they’re doing signing their lives over to a govt that doesn’t give any shits about them, to die fighting for the elite’s interests across the globe.

As we can see with the terrible recruitment numbers lately, the military industrial complex has become so terrible that not even the best patriotism riddled propaganda can swindle people into signing on anymore.

Hopefully it won’t bite us in the ass once China/Russia decide to fully wage war against the US, possibly even invading the Continental US. But I have a feeling all of those patriotic folks who may have joined the military of decades past will still be more than happy to stand and fight communism once our armed forces completely collapse due to inept leadership.

C’mon man All these wars were really really tough, ww1 &2, Iraq, Nam, afghanistan, Mogadishu.

Perhaps if the army took on something a bit smaller maybe, for the win, then lots of young men will gladly sacrifice their lives for the neoCons. Maybe a place like Morro Redondo where army, navy and air force can pulverize the place to gravel, safely. Close to home, and according to kurt would be morally righteous and justified.

I never seen so much drugs, whores and partying in my life…even in the field, plus my unisex battalion showed hard core porn…women pissing on men and such, in the field, for muh patriotic entertainment. The military doesn’t make men, it makes degenerates…always has. It was returning soldiers after WWI and WWII that brought and spread a taste for filth throughout America.

Even though I was in the Navy, I still would not join any US armed forces today, and I have encouraged some young men to do the same.

The people running the show are mad, desperate, dangerous fools without an ounce of regard for those they supposedly protect. Perhaps it has always been this way and merely took this long for its ultimate manifestation. Definitely understand now what JFK tried to warn us about: the MIC was going to war with the American people, sacrificing us for the gains of the few.

It is a sad state of affairs that us veterans have no respect for these warmongers, who we once admired. The way they have treated us once we got out is nothing short of criminal. So many of us, including our fathers, brothers and sisters, gave up good years of our youth in exchange for a piece of paper; some did not live to get it. We served our country because we believed it was something worth defending. That country no longer exists, shameful as it is to say.

These evil things infesting the military today have driven not only us but the entire rest of the world to hate them and everything for which they stand. I never thought I would live to see the day where I would be the bad guy, like Michael Douglas in “Falling Down:” I’m the bad guy? All any of us ever wanted to do was better ourselves and our fellows, and the propaganda we got from the minute we were old enough was, there was no more noble action than to sign up and “go see the world.”

Now, look at how the world sees us.

I really only see one solution, but it will never be done because it is a solution: all these ferals who love guns and shooting each other, should they get caught (again, never be done) they get sworn in and shipped off to Ukraine (or wherever the banksters tell the military to go) for front-line fodder. The cities would be safe again overnight. It’s a nice thought…

What are we going to do if we actually get invaded by a military other than our own?
