Back when I was in school (long time ago) when ever there was some issue between two kids to where it ended in a fight it was always one on one. There was NEVER a time when a group jumped on one person, not even two on one, And never was there one group against another group. I remember going to a Mission in California, and hearing about how the missionaries oppressed the natives. I asked a number of questions, such as: Why did the natives come to the mission? (regular food and medical help). How did they live there? (Lived in huts, worked the fields and other occupations, went to church). How did the missionaries live? (lived in huts, worked the fields and other occupations, went to church). What were the other occupations? (music, blacksmithing, tanning, wood working, etc.). How did they learn these occupations? (Well, of course, there was schooling and teaching…). So where was the oppression, if the natives had food and medicine, earned their keep, and lived the same lives as the missionaries? (Well, they were no longer “free.”)
And now, when I see these videos, and think back to “Emmet Till times,” I just wonder if the poor Jim Crow negro, who has to say yassah and nossah, was really oppressed?
What I specifically mean is:
If whitey, crackuh, M-F**Kuh, was doing, in Jim Crow times, the same thing that these poor folks are doing, would they get away with it?!? Would Whitey be able to trash an business or cause a scene because he’s ‘whatever?’
