I am still unconvinced that any of this could have happened without Israeli cooperation. It seems much more likely that the Hamas bite was a calculated cost Israel was willing to pay. As for whether the bite was hard or soft, the propaganda obscures that fact at present. Regardless, the bite was simply the price of the permit for Israel to justify sweeping Gaza clean and incorporating it into new boundaries.
