The Catholic Church has never taught or promoted the Flat Earth nonsense.
It has, on the other hand, taught Geocentrism, officially.
It has also never changed that teaching in any official capacity. The Church still, to this day, has never changed its official teaching that the Earth is in the center of the Universe, and the Sun revolves around it.
Actual science experiments have shown this repeatedly, including the WMAP, COBE, and Plank projects. All indications show that the Earth is near or at the center of the universe, to the extent that we can see. There are others, as well.
The renewed flat earth nonsense is simply a psyop to distract people from the increasing preponderance of evidence that the Earth IS in the center of the universe. This nonsense started up again in 2014 in response to the movie “The Principle,” which weighed the evidence for and against a central Earth.
The people who wish to control you will always do so with violence or lies. The people who wish to set you free will only do so with truth, though they might defend you with force.
