FAST FOOD PRICES: GOOD NEWS OR BAD NEWS?

“In twentieth-century Old Earth, a fast food chain took dead cow meat, fried it in grease, added carcinogens, wrapped it in petroleum-based foam, and sold nine hundred billion units. Human beings. Go figure.” Dan Simmons

So everyone knows Bidenomics, in conjunction with Jerome Powell’s massive money printing, has resulted in a surge in food, energy and almost all prices. This inflation most certainly hurts the poorest people the most. Where do poor people eat? Fast food joints.

As you can see from the chart below, the top 3 fast food joints have increased their prices astronomically since 2019. Their corporate profits have been solid, as they pass their increased expenses onto the customers, with an up-charge for good measure.

Since the food served by these corporate mega-food conglomerates is toxic sludge, the single biggest reason for the obesity epidemic and killing the poor prematurely, is this increase in prices good for poor people, because they can’t afford to eat there 8 times per week?

Personally, I haven’t been to a McDonalds in over a decade and have never been to a Taco Bell in my life. I do admit to getting Chik-fil-A several times per year, impressed by the efficiency of the young white workers they hire.

I look at the prices for this crap and think the same way I do with coffee. I buy coffee on sale at Giant (2 pouches for $8) and make a full pot every morning before work. I have 2 cups at a cost of about 20 cents. Meanwhile, I drive by Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks and see people buying a cup for $4 or $5.

This past weekend at Giant they had a value pack of ground beef (6 pounds) with the yellow sticker showing 50% off. I bought it for $12. I took it home, split it into 3 portions and froze two of the them. I then proceeded to cook 7 big thick burgers on the grill from the third packet. That came to 57 cents per burger. If you add in the cheese and bun, the meal came to about 75 cents. Compare that to the $3.15 toxic cheese burger patty at McDonalds.

Maybe these outrageous fast food prices will convince more people to look for grocery store deals and cook at home. I’m probably too optimistic. They have been purposefully addicted to the fast food by these companies and are maff challenged when it comes to budgeting. They’ll just put it on their credit card and pay 21% interest on their Beefy 5-Layer Burrito for the next 3 years, even though it went through them in a matter of hours.

Its too late for most of these people. They lack the knowledge and basic skills needed to prepare a burger. Most people, if they have one, keep their chef’s knife loose in a drawer, AND they are afraid of it. These same people do not know how to sear meat in a pan or roast it in the oven.
If they would actually attempt to cook, injuries even death could occur.
They will pay whatever it costs for the convenience. Its a food prison.
Blame feminism. And by that, i mean the CIA

I (Lie, Slander and Spoon Her) was referring to the standard American consumer. The people of whom you speak are actually causing the food price increase on Fatus Americanus. The illegals are subsidized and increase the digital dollar supply while raising demand for the cheapest easiest food. When demand and easy access to money goes up…… prices shall follow.

It’s not the illegals that are increasing the money supply, it’s the totally politicized Fed.

Easy money always makes the dollar value of most everything go up.

Inflation is planned. Monetizing debt is a favorite trick of failed governments. Sometimes it leads to defaults and war.

Tyrannies have existed from the earliest recorded history of mankind and existed in every culture nationality and religion.

You are right to notice tyranny today, but , how hard is that when there are so many of them?

Say, I happened to think, Iranians have a chance to throw off the tyranny that’s been imposed on them. I wish them luck.

Simple cooking skills are basic, they can be learned by almost anybody in not much time at all.

When things get expensive enough that the cell bill is getting out of reach, people will learn to cook again.

Unless of course dome government decides to pay their cell bill so they can keep on eating junk food.

BTW, those type restaurants sell many things besides just burger and fries.

We all know the problem is inflation, spelled with a capital ‘F’ for federal reserve bank.

Death by eating spoiled food might become very common.

Had to laugh as I remember that, but I think the correct way it went was that person eats the taco, then craps it out and it goes down pipe to ocean where fish eats crap, then cat eats fish, then cat is taken to taco restaurant where person then eats taco. Of course could be wrong because it was like fifty years ago that I read those magazines. On a side note I went to the National Lampoon travelling show in about 1973 or 74 and saw John Belushi and Chevy Chase in it. Also saw Steve Martin open for Nitty Gritty Dirt Band the same year. I cruised the drive through at the local taco hell like some boomers in high school late 60’s. They stayed open to about 2AM Sat. allowing ample time for juvenile beer drinkers to catch a taco before heading home hoping mom or dad are not at the door waiting, “Son , you know we have talked with police (a town of our local police about 750, taco hell town maybe 1000, full of snoops) about who you are buying beer from.”

“Mom, dad, I buy it!”

“From who?!!”

“I cannot say, I’m sworn to secrecy like those secret societies.” I was buying from a place called The Cracker House when the owner was confident the LCB had left for the day.

“You mean the masons?”

“I can’t say.”

“Your keys.”

“What?”

“You heard me. Six weeks you do not drive the family station wagon. ( we had a ’67 Olds Vista Cruiser). And you can find a ride to school or ride the bus. I’ll make sure you show.”

“Ah, dad, I have a date with Susie next Friday. I was hoping with the wagon…”

“Cease!”

“But dad, the bus? I’m almost 17…”

Techinally it is not even meat. Taco Bell was sued and had to change it to a ‘meat mixture” because the content of meat was to low. And it’s not just Taco Bell, or fast food, but even grocery stores!
https://slate.com/culture/2014/05/taco-bell-seasoned-beef-explainer-why-fast-food-chains-should-add-more-filler-to-their-meat.html

In 2011, an Alabama law firm filed a lawsuit against Taco Bell, claiming that the “seasoned beef” in its tacos and burritos was only 35 percent beef. The fast-food chain fired back by stating that the meat product was actually 88 percent beef—and this week, Taco Bell has gone on the offensive by explaining in great detail what the ingredients in that other 12 percent actually are.

But Taco Bell shouldn’t be defensive about the fact that its seasoned beef is only 88 percent beef. It should be proud. And Taco Bell and other fast-food chains should use more fillers in their meat products, not less.

Most fast-food meat is very low quality—one study of fast-food hamburgers found that they contained connective tissue, blood vessels, peripheral nerves, adipose tissue, cartilage, and bone along with muscle tissue. To mask the flavor of peripheral nerves, fast-food meat is heavily seasoned, as Taco Bell’s seasoned beef exemplifies. (Taco Bell’s new explainer page insists that they use “only USDA-inspected, 100% premium real beef, period”—but that’s a meaningless phrase. All meat sold in the U.S. is USDA-inspected, and “premium” doesn’t have an official meaning as a meat label; it’s just marketing-speak.) When you bite into a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder, you’re mainly tasting “grill seasoning” and condiments, not beef; when you taste a Burger King chicken nugget—the third ingredient of which is “isolated oat product”—you’re tasting salt and artificial flavorings.

Why do poor people eat fast food? Because they’re either lazy or stupid or both.

Publix routinely has bone-in chicken thighs for $1.54/lb. I buy a flat every week for about $14 for 12 thighs. Eat the meat, then use the skin and bone to make stock. I do splurge on local grass-fed beef at $9/lb., but that’s real beef, not CAFO beef.

I bring leftovers for lunch. So my lunch usually costs about $1.50. My cohorts who make less than I do buy lunch out every day for $10 or more per meal.

It seems nobody cooks any more.

What chickens and pigs eat matters a lot more than what ruminants eat. We feed our layers commercial feed, but they spend most of the day foraging for plants and bugs. We don’t really have enough cooking waste to make any difference, but people with bigger families usually do.

Chicken from the grocery store is higher in bad fats and lower in good ones. So is pork. Eggs and beef are not as affected because of how much processing by the animals and their gut turns bad into good.

Fast food has always been bad news.

The real bad news here is the financial aspect of it, which affects us all, regardless of what we eat; and, in fact, eating real food now, to the extent one can find it, is unbelievably pricey. I can afford it, but many cannot.

Truth is, fast food is expensive, so the poor are true fools – but we knew that. The very notion of fast food is still anathema in many places.

What is hilarious is fast food workers who think their pay should cover a house payment.
They never stop and think, that if a restaurant paid all their cooks and servers $40.00 an hour [$80,000 a year fulltime], they would have to charge $40.00 a meal for fast food.
Which no one would buy.
Until they are earning $80.00 an hour.

It’s probably less bad than some other herbicides, but it is still a poison, it’s overused even if it wasn’t poison, and it encourages the use of gmos, which means more money for the the corps poisoning us, and more garbage prolefeed in the food supply.

gmos might be perfectly safe, I don’t know, but what I know is I don’t trust those fuckers any more than the cdc selling us on clotshots.

The standard of living depends primarily on two things, the “real” cost of housing, and the “real” cost of eating. Due to the drastic increases in both those area’s, the standard of living in the US has fallen dramatically. Especially when you compare it to countries like Russia, and China where the standards of living have been increasing every year for the past decade.
The bottom line is, that the pie is only so big, and in order for the rich bastards to continually get a bigger piece of the pies, you and your family have to get less.

Consumers won’t simply continue to pay 80% more — they will stop purchasing, which is what they have already done and will continue to do in greater numbers. The drop in demand will lead to bankruptcies & layoffs, which will cause borderline workers to become wards of the state. Repeat this across 10,000 industries and then bread lines become a thing again. The dominos have started falling and nothing is going to stop them.

Fried chicken places make me vomit just thinking about former coworkers that got all exited on Tuesdays I think it was that Popeyes would have a special on chicken thighs. I forget the price. I participated one time and the very last time as the first bite into a fried Popeyes chicken thigh grease shot across my desk and splashed on a couple of PC monitors. Back then the monitors were enormous so the grease had big targets.

I’ve never had the patience to wait the crowds at Chick-fil-A but now that the chain has gone woke its just as well I never ate there.

Minimum wage here in this Oblast is RUB 16800 ($183) per month, and average I found sources claiming between RUB 60000 ($654) and RUB 95000 ($1036) net,
so hourly that makes for a minimum of $1.15 and average between $4 and $6.50.

If you’ve made it to adulthood without figuring out food or numbers, what difference does it make?

It’s pretty clear that most people aren’t really in the game of life- they’re alive, but not living. It doesn’t really matter what they eat or what it costs them because they aren’t actually making any choices or thinking about anything.

Surround yourself with like minded people, feed your family well, stop spending money on anything other than absolute essentials and learn as many practical skills as you have the time and capacity to learn then share them with younger people freely. And get away from populated areas.

This is what collapse looks like. There aren’t going to be any mushroom clouds or motherships, just the slow and steady process of decay and dissolution.

Ironically it will serve as the fertile soil for whatever comes afterward.

Chin up, we’ve got this.

Yes, fast food is overpriced crap. But I occasionally eat it for convenience. I find myself doing it less and less because the quality of the service and food quality at these places continues to decline. As noted in the article Chick-fil-A being an exception. The you get what you pay for does not apply to fast food. You pay a high price for crap.

Chick fil a ingredients listChick-fil-A’s chicken sandwich has a long list of ingredients, some of which may be concerning to some consumers. Here are some of the ingredients found in a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich:

  • Chicken Breast Filet: Skinless, boneless, chicken breast filet
  • MSG: Monosodium glutamate, a flavor enhancer and excitotoxin
  • Sodium Aluminum Phosphate: A food additive used as a leavening agent
  • Dimethylpolysiloxane: A silicone-based ingredient used as an anti-foaming agent
  • Paprika: A spice made from sweet or bell peppers
  • Black Pepper: A spice made from the peppercorn
  • Mustard: A condiment made from the seeds of the mustard plant
  • Spices: A blend of spices, including black pepper, paprika, and mustard
  • Bread: A toasted, buttered bun
  • Pickle Slices: Dill pickle slices
  • 100% Refined Peanut Oil: Used for frying the chicken
  • Salt: A seasoning used to enhance flavor
  • Sugar: A sweetener used to balance flavors
  • Cultured Nonfat Buttermilk: Used as an ingredient in the chicken breading
  • Whey: A byproduct of cheese production used as a thickening agent
  • Egg Whites: Used as an ingredient in the chicken breading
  • Wheat Flour: Used as an ingredient in the chicken breading
  • Soy Lecithin: A soy-based emulsifier used in the chicken breading
  • TBHQ: Tertiary butylhydroquinone, a preservative used to extend shelf life
  • GMOs: Genetically modified organisms, used in some of the ingredients
  • Artificial Dyes: Used to enhance color and appearance
  • Preservatives: Used to extend shelf life and prevent spoilage

The addition of preservatives to “extend shelf life and prevent spoilage” indicates that you are not eating fresh food and it isn’t for your dining pleasure, but to allow them to legally sell a product that is so old it would otherwise have spoiled and become rotten.

What do you think that type of chemical does to your body when you consume it?

I get it, I do. I grew up eating the garbage food that made up the American diet of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s because we trusted the people who made and sold it not to poison us and because we never thought to look into it.

Once you do it becomes clear exactly what’s going on. They poison us because it is beneficial for them financially, beneficial for the government because it makes for a weak and defenseless population, and it’s good for the Medical/Pharma cartels that profit off of treating symptoms of your poisoning.

Eat it if you like, but understand it’s not a lot different than occasionally smoking crack or dabbling in unprotected sex with homosexuals.

HSF, That last line was hilarious. Many years ago a college buddy of mine was in town. He was in some field of epidemiological data collection. I took him to Palmers – a dive bar frequented by aging hippies, 60’s folk musicians and Eritreans – who spend much of their time telling everybody that they’re not Ethiopians or Somalis. Anyway, my friend spent the whole time looking over his shoulder worried that he was surrounded by MSM’s – which is apparently epidemiology-speak for “men who have sex with men” – the most disease-ridden cohort of humans there is.

60’s and 70’s Jack In The Box actually sold real French fried potatoes. Who knows “we” were fooled anyway “back then”?

I recall when Taco Hell was supposedly using cellulose fillers in it’s “food”. That was many years after I ceased patronizing the place. I had to laugh about the cellulose because if I wanted to be a termite and eat wood I’d chew on framing lumber inside the walls of someone’s home.

“What do you think that type of chemical does to your body when you consume it?”

Nothing immediate and obvious, but I suspect the preservatives have helped increase the average lifespan.

Why that average lifespan is now falling in America is mostly too many carbs and too little exercise.

My wife and I were just talking about this the other day.

When was the last time we ate McDonalds, Burger King or any fast food joint? The best we could come up with was at least eight years, probably more but we just don’t even consider it.

No matter the cost these low IQ tards will still line up, demand more free shit, and get it.

Case in point, my liberal cousin, she has a high paying job at a liberal college, inherited $100k from her mom, borrowed $35k 40 years ago to get a degree, today she owes $145k because of interest and doesn’t feel she is obligated to pay her loan.
Then her millennial idiot offspring. She ate all her daily meals at Burger King, very fond of the Whopper and large fry.
She is fat, stupid and gay.
Doctors told her she had to have her Gall Bladder removed because of her shit diet.
After her surgery her logic was, Now I can go back to eating Whoppers because I don’t have a gall bladder……

Idiocracy at it’s finest. Now multiply these idiots millions of times.

One time I discussed diet with my doc as the blood sugar was not suitable according the the medical association. He suggested citrus fruit might be causing that for me and said bananas are considered citrus as I mentioned I took a banana to work almost every work day. He went on to say one of his patients ate taco bell for lunch and supper almost every work day. The patient was taking the jabs for diabetes as a result according to the doc. Bottom line to get that under control, I completely quit eating bread , lost 40 pounds and am able to maintain the weight since.

#1.I fix my Coffee at Home for pennies on the dollar. I’m not about to pay Starbucks $9.00 for a fancy, smancy Coffee Drink!!! Plus the Owners of Starbucks are big time Libtards who support all kinds of Left Wing Causes with their Corporate Profits. Never been in a Starbucks.
#2. About 5 years ago my Boss forced me to eat at Mickey D’s with him. I was sick 3 times with diarrhea that afternoon. Mickey D’s is the worst.
#3. About 6 months ago I spent $17.17 for a meal at Taco Bell. As I sat in the parking lot eating I looked over at the Grocery Store and thought for the price of this meal I could have bought 2 Family Packs of Ground Beef that would have made 34 homemade Cheeseburgers!!!
#4. My Grocery Store occasionally puts Meat on sale. I’m talking 40%off. About 4 months ago they had a 3 day Meat Sale. I bought chicken, pork, and beef for an average price of $2.52 a pound!!! 2 days ago I bought Pork Chops for $1.49, Pork loin for $1.99, Chicken Breasts for $1.99 and Spare Ribs for $1.99!!!
I have definitely cut back on eating out. It’s just too expensive.

The sad thing about starbucks is the so called “conservatives” that patronize starbucks. It’s mostly women though with their “tricky” lattes whatever those are about. Another sad deal is the starbucks that are appearing in small towns , around 5000 population that one might think are “conservative” towns, this west of the Mississippi. I say “conservative” women as the electorate in these areas “vote” about 80% so, i.e. not for dems.

I’ve seen sales recently for hormel baby back ribs and country style ribs for $1.99lb. Whatever is injected into and digested by those pigs who knows but I can only guess chemicals.
