Upon the recommendation of a blog commenter, I recently read “The Crisis of Modernity” by Italian professor and philosopher, Augusto Del Noce (1910 – 1989). The book was published in 2014 and is a brilliant compilation of twentieth-century essays and speeches by Del Noce. His philosophical insights are profound and his conclusions and societal predictions, especially regarding Scientism and the Technocracy, are eerily similar to those of English author and theologian C.S. Lewis – see my previous posts entitled “The Abolition of Man Amid the Consequences of Reality”, and “Gnostic Parasitism in the Post-Modern Simulacrum”, and “A Postmortem on Postmodernism”.

David Stockman on the Red Drizzle And What Comes Next—MAGA Or Return To The GOP’s 1980 Platform?

If the Republicans couldn’t capitalize on the nation’s current travails, we are hard pressed to imagine what might actually stir the vaunted Red Tide, which most definitely materialized as a mere drizzle last week.

After all, at every kitchen table in America it was recognized that we have:

The worst inflation in four decades, with the cost of food, fuel and other necessities now rising at double-digit rates;
19 straight months of declining real wages, meaning that the answer to Ronald Reagan’s famous “are you better off” question was a ringing, “no!”
An unprecedented Federal spending and borrowing spree that has taken the public debt to $31 trillion and 126% of GDP;
An out-of-control central bank that has printed $5 trillion out of thin air since March 2020 alone, thereby fostering rampant financial speculation and unspeakable windfalls to the rich, while crushing workers, savers, retirees and most other main street Americans;
An unhinged Green New Deal crusade against the lifeblood of prosperity—cheap and abundant fossil fuels—in the name of a Climate Crisis Hysteria that is utterly unwarranted;
A dictatorial Virus Patrol that unconstitutionally shutdown schools, businesses, churches, malls and countless other social venues based on junk science and a raw statist will-to power;
Yet another “forever war”, this time against Russia by proxy, that has caused global food, energy and other commodity prices to soar in the name of a Washington foreign policy adventure thousands of miles away that has nothing to do with America’s homeland security;
An outbreak of crime and lawlessness especially in the larger cities that is undoubtedly the worst since the 1960s;
And, not least, the least popular incumbent president since Harry Truman and actually, had there been polling in earlier times, since Herbert Hoover in November 1932.

FOURTH TURNING WINTER OF DEATH

It was less than a year ago on December 16, 2021 when our dementia patient in chief was instructed by his handlers to lie, obfuscate and demonize critical thinking Americans who refused to become victims of the Big Pharma, Fauci promoted, untested, unsafe, ineffective gene therapy by declaring “we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated — for themselves, their families and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm”. Biden’s vaccine mandates were overturned in the courts. The unvaccinated did not die from Covid. Very few people died from Covid. Some really old and infirm people on death’s doorstep died with Covid. Some very unhealthy obese people died with Covid. But even 95% of the old and unhealthy survived Covid.

Political Purges Emerge Through the Compliance of Those Following Orders

Supposedly, a mid-nineteenth-century American Medical Association pamphlet quoted Vladimir Lenin as saying: “Socialized medicine is the keystone to the arch of a socialized state.” Although online fact-checkers claim there is no “credible source” proving Lenin actually made that claim, it does appear to be an accurate observation.

After all, before becoming President of the United States, Ronald Reagan identified “medicine” as a traditional method of “imposing statism or socialism” on people. In the same 1961 speech, Reagan claimed that it is “very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project” but, once the precedent is established, government would, in turn, form a dictatorship over the healthcare system prior to the “short step” to “all the rest of socialism” encroaching throughout society.

Four years after Reagan’s warning to America, Medicare began in 1965 as a federal health insurance program under the auspices of the Security Administration (SSA). And, today, the program is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Caught in a Trap: We Can’t Go On Together With Suspicious Minds

A few months ago, one of my offspring texted and asked if I had read or heard anything about the new Elvis movie that was playing in theaters at the time. When I said “no”, they responded back that they had seen the film, that it was very good, and these words: “I didn’t know Elvis was that big of deal back then”.

So allow me some latitude as I’m going somewhere with this…

In my mind, I thought: “Really? How could my kid not know? Elvis Presley was considered the “king of rock and roll”.

On the other hand, maybe it wasn’t so odd. After all, Elvis music was not played around my kids when they were growing up; and I, personally, have only considered the man, vaguely, as an American historical icon.

I considered my own cognitive associations involving Elvis:

– My dad had some Elvis gospel and Christmas albums.

– I have heard most of Elvis Presley’s songs at one time or another.

– I eventually learned that many Elvis songs were first performed by other musicians and blues singers.

Llpoh’s article on “Narratives reminded me of recently being sent the above meme by a progressive male Caucasian acquaintance.

I believe I’ve seen it before and was thinking Stucky may have posted something similar here on TBP in the past?

Regardless, this meme’s presentation may hold the key to understanding the liberal’s embrace of Marxism, globalism, social justice, and the progressive hatred for all things MAGA. At the same time, it is difficult to refute at face value.

So what would be the most effective, and pithy, way to unwind this theological knot?

Fair is Foul and Foul is Fair: Hover Through the Fog and Filthy Air

The title of this piece was recited by The Three Witches in Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” and the photo symbolizes America’s recent history and the desired destiny for a large percentage of the nation’s voters: An arrogant political leftist infiltrator, while donning the horns of Baphomet, holding a bullhorn in his left hand and an American flag subdued under his right fist. It is the vision of Janus in transition, the two-faced god simultaneously seeing forward and backward; future and past.

Over the past two years, I have written multiple articles regarding episodes playing out on the national stage; and nearly every piece expressed my unease at the “movie-of-the-week”, or “reality television” vibe that accompanied those media narratives. The episodes seemed so scripted…. so perfectly… contrived.

The recent “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington D.C. unwound in a similar, seemingly scripted, fashion. Just like the election fraud that took place months earlier that was predicted by both President Trump and Vice President Pence many months before November 3, 2020, so was the potential for violence, and ANTIFA infiltration, predicted by AM radio hosts and other political commenters prior to the rally on January 6, 2021.

Everyone Wants to Win and Nobody Likes Being Wrong

The axiomatic adages contained in the title of this article would be labeled as common sense by most Americans; especially Americans because, in the United States, everyone loves a winner. It’s also true no one ever wins by being wrong – unless in the instances of dumb luck or corruption and these never ensure long-lasting success.

Of course, the inverse of this article’s title would be: Everyone wants to be right and nobody likes to lose. And, particularly, in America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. The shining city on a hill.

Such are the stories we tell ourselves.
