US Meteorologist Warns: “Winter This Year Going To Be Very Different” As El Nino Ramps Up

Via ZeroHedge

“Winter in the US this year is going to be very different. El Nino is ramping up in the Pacific. Sea surface temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean are still off the charts, and we’re going to have an amplified southern jet stream,” US meteorological analyst and YouTuber Ryan Hall said in a video published on Saturday. He said the El Nino weather phenomenon will “affect how much snow we get and how often we see it, but it’s also going to change when the snow starts.”

Hall constructed a map of the US regions that usually see the first measurable snowfall:

Federal government to close over one inch of expected snow

Federal government employees in Washington will be permitted to leave work hours early on Tuesday as the region anticipates just an inch of snowfall.

“Employees of Federal offices in the Washington, DC area are authorized for early departure,” the Office of Personnel Management said in a notice to staff. “Employees should depart 4 hours earlier than their normal departure time and may request UNSCHEDULED LEAVE to depart prior to their staggered departure time. All employees MUST DEPART at no later than 1:00 p.m. at which time FEDERAL OFFICES are CLOSED.”

Iceland Buried in 30 foot Snowfall

Guest Post by Martin Armstrong

The biggest snowstorm in recorded memory has hit Iceland. The Emigration Center is under 30 feet of snow. It has never snowed like this so horses typically remained outside and not in barns. This snowstorm has killed up to 80 horses. Nobody has ever seen a winter like this before. They must be calling this “global warming” just as insurance companies sell death insurance by calling it the opposite – Life Insurance. They certainly do not pay if you never die.

Several major snowstorms are expected to dump heavy snow across the Rockies, the Plains, and into the Midwest this week as cold Arctic air blankets those regions in the last days of October.

Irony Alert: A Thousand Private Jets Deliver Globalist Elite to Davos for Climate Change Summit

Via Breitbart

More than 1,000 private jet flights have been delivering globalist elites to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where attendees are discussing — among other topics — the ‘major threat’ of climate change.

Airports around the Swiss ski resort will see the number of private jets spike 335 per cent during the annual meeting of world elites, according to Air Charter Service (ACS).

Research commissioned by the jet hire company found an average 218 private jet movements a day during the weeklong forum, compared to the 65 daily flights Swiss airfields usually deal with.

Andy Christie, group director for executive jets at ACS, said clients last year opted for expensive “heavy jets” to their lighter, more environmentally-friendly alternatives, with Gulfstream GVs and Global Expresses both being used more than 100 times each.

ONE OF THOSE DAYS

My employer did not close during the blizzard like conditions yesterday. Most employers in the Philly area and all schools were closed. I got up this morning at 5:15 as usual and prepared for a cold slog into work. This was a long johns day. It was 9 degrees and windy. But the sun was shining. I didn’t bother to check my work email while at home. Even though I now have a smart phone, I didn’t check that either.

I was on the road at 6:40 and had the best commute in years. Only 40 minutes to go the 30 miles. The Schuylkill was a dream. I was in a pretty good mood as I entered the parking garage. When I got out of my car I noticed all the lights were out in the University gym. Then I walked into my office suite and noticed I was the first one in, which was unusual. Then I sat down at my desk and opened my email to find out the University was closed. The message had been sent at 10:30 last night. I later checked my text messages on my phone to see a colleague, who knows I’m not the most tech savvy, had forwarded the news we were closed last night.

That was a real bummer. Who closes on a cold sunny day after staying open during a blizzard? I guess this classifies me as a dumbass. My ride home was not quite as good, as there was a 5 car fender bender accident on the Schuylkill. So, I spent about two hours of commuting for a one hour stay at work. I’m sure the day will get better from here on out. I’m always an optimist.

QUOTES OF THE DAY

“A cold wind was blowing from the north, and it made the trees rustle like living things.”

George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones

“The more I see, the less I know, the more I’d like to let it go.”

The Red Hot Chili Peppers

“You wake up on a winter morning and pull up the shade, and what lay there the evening before is no longer there–the sodden gray yard, the dog droppings, the tire tracks in the frozen mud, the broken lawn chair you forgot to take in last fall. All this has disappeared overnight, and what you look out on is not the snow of Narnia but the snow of home, which is no less shimmering and white as it falls. The earth is covered with it, and it is falling still in silence so deep that you can hear its silence. It is snow to be shoveled, to make driving even worse than usual, snow to be joked about and cursed at, but unless the child in you is entirely dead, it is snow, too, that can make the heart beat faster when it catches you by surprise that way, before your defenses are up. It is snow that can awaken memories of things more wonderful than anything you ever knew or dreamed.”

Snow Jobs

Much of the country has been blanketed with historic levels of snowfall which meteorologists cite as definitive proof of global warming because “everything is backward in a leap year.”

In any event, the snow is so deep in Washington DC that, for the first time in over seven years, there are actually places where you can’t see the bulls**t.

Only kidding! The steaming brown mounds can still easily be spotted at places like the State Department, which issued notification that their mandated production of the latest round of Hillary Clinton’s felony-laden emails would be delayed by at least a month owing to the inclement weather.

Here at Hope n’ Change, we’re enjoying lovely Texas weather  – but we know that many readers are quite literally out in the cold right now. To you, we say stay warm, stay safe, and take comfort from the knowledge that, for now at least, Obama is stuck spending time with his family instead of golfing.
