The Illusion of Control

The US empire may be history’s last.

Guest post by Robert Gore at Straight Line Logic

The illusion of control that has sustained the US’s nominal government and its behind-the scenes power since World War II is fading both at home and abroad. In many areas the US military is no longer unquestionably superior and in some is demonstrably inferior. As military prowess goes so goes the American empire. Amplifying the decline and compounding its severity is the US’s perilous finances, deteriorating economy, and mounting political unrest.

That US military power was never all it was cracked it up to be was apparent to astute observers after the Korean War, and was obvious after Vietnam. Possible escalation and humanity’s extinction precluded use of nuclear weapons. However, in both Korea and Vietnam local populations, with assistance from outside allies, withstood mind-boggling barrages of conventional bombs and munitions to gain in Korea a stalemate and in Vietnam a victory.

Vietnam demonstrated the difficulty for invaders of fighting determined insurgents using guerrilla tactics—usually labeled terrorism—defending their home territory. The insurgents know the territory and the language and often enjoy the covert support of the local, ostensibly non-combatant population. In Vietnam they also received covert and overt support from China and the USSR.

The insurgents extracted such a price that eventually the American invaders, plagued by protests and political opposition back home, decided conquest wasn’t worth it. Vietnam illustrated a stark reality, never publicly stated by US military or political leaders: to win the war would have required genocide—essentially wiping out the population. Or to paraphrase the saying popular at the time, to save the country the US would have had to destroy it, inflicting far more damage than the gruesome toll it actually exacted.

Fiascos since Vietnam further confirm that guerrilla insurgency remains problematic for the US military. It stymies one of the US’s main geopolitical objectives—forcing smaller countries to toe the US line. Fighting the insurgencies that objective elicits goes hand-in-hand with subversion, propaganda, intelligence skullduggery, and regime change—whatever’s necessary to extract compliance.

If the US can’t defeat insurgents in smaller countries despite its overwhelming advantages in conventional military power, what would happen in a match with someone its own size, another superpower? Here the illusion of control is most deadly.

Nothing is more dangerous than the belief that the US military is second to none and that it can win whatever offensive engagements it is assigned while also protecting the US homeland and its people. Andrei Martyanov demolishes that illusion in his recently published and highly recommended book, The (Real) Revolution In Military Affairs.

On March 1 2018, Vladimir Putin announced new Russian weapons that had either been deployed or were in advanced states of development. Collectively, the new weapons’ most striking features are hypersonic speeds (ability to travel at five times the speed of sound, Mach 5, or faster) and nuclear power.

The Kinzhal missile has a top speed of Mach 10, and the Avangard hypersonic-glide projectile Mach 20. Both can be conventionally or nuclear armed, and are maneuverable throughout their flight trajectories, making defense against one such weapon problematic, a swarm impossible. The Kinzahl has a range of 2000 kilometers (over 1200 miles), while Putin said the Avangard’s range is “intercontinental.”

Putin claimed Russia has also developed nuclear-powered underwater drones and cruise missiles. The drones are faster than any currently deployed surface ship or submarine, have a range of 10,000 kilometers (over 6,000 miles), are cloaked by underwater stealth technology, and can carry both conventional and high-yield nuclear warheads. They can be deployed against surface naval assets like aircraft carrier groups, or placed in a coastal area, armed with a nuclear warhead, and detonated, generating a massive, radioactive tsunami wave.

The nuclear-powered cruise missile can carry conventional and nuclear warheads, is low-flying and highly maneuverable, and has virtually unlimited range. Like the Kinzahl and Avangard, stopping one would be problematic, a swarm impossible. If Putin’s claims about Russia’s nuclear-powered missiles and drones are true, they have achieved state-of-the-art advances in the miniaturization of nuclear power.

The US political establishment and its mainstream punditry, devout believers in American military superiority, either ignored or dismissed Putin’s announcement. Those that addressed it said he was lying without specifying their factual basis for saying so.

To its credit, the US military took the announcement more seriously. From its own efforts to develop hypersonic weapons it knows that such weapons are possible. It asked for and received a significant funding increase for programs to further develop and test hypersonic weapons and defenses against them. While reportedly not as far along as Russia, China is also developing these technologies, some of which are already operational. Among serious military thinkers, Putin’s announcement put a spotlight on the next leg of the arms race: hypersonic speed and miniaturized nuclear power.

To date, no prominent US political figure, even those who reluctantly acknowledge that the Russians may actually have what they claim, has delineated the vital implications of such an arsenal. Most disturbingly, the US has no effective defenses. Russia can also render much of the US’s offensive capabilities irrelevant. Martyanov persuasively makes both cases.

While the US still has its nuclear arsenal to fall back on, Martyanov argues that in conventional warfare, the US has deluded itself. The US’s vaunted air power is increasingly vulnerable to Russian anti-aircraft systems, notably the S-400, the world’s best. Stealth air technology is overrated, its cloaking ever more easily penetrated. High-powered communications, computer, and networking technologies upon which US air power relies are subject to disruption that would leave missiles and jets figuratively flying blind.

Aircraft carrier groups—along with submarines the heart of US naval strategy—are floating dinosaurs. While their proponents claim they can be protected from anti-ship missile clusters, there is no real world validation and given recent improvements in those missiles’ range, maneuverability, and power, reason to believe just the opposite. Demonstrations of antimissile artillery knocking out a single missile on a defined path under ideal conditions are risibly remote from what would be real world conditions in a confrontation with another major power: swarms of maneuverable missiles on random flight paths amidst the general chaos of war. It is foolish to assume carrier invincibility and to base naval strategy or foreign policy on that assumption.

Insurgents have repeatedly battled US forces to a standoff or worse. Two major powers have weapons that can stymie or destroy significant parts of America’s conventional offensive capabilities, that can be used offensively with devastating effect, and for which the US has no defensive countermeasures.

This set of facts is plainly incompatible with the control the US establishment believes it can and should exercise around the world. Russia and China appear to have no such hegemonic aspirations, concentrating their efforts in their own backyards and letting the US waste its blood and treasure on imperialistic adventures. The US’s unipolar moment began fading in 1949 when the Soviet Union detonated its own atomic bomb, but repeated encounters with reality have done little to shake the illusion of control. Economic, financial, and political developments at home render the illusion delusional.

The only illusion that becomes more clear everyday is this:

MAGA is a hoax.

Q is a hoax.

xx,000 sealed indictments are a hoax.

Governments dealing in justice is a hoax.

The military and military intelligence has been a hoax-factory for over 100 years.

It would be far more profitable to just claim you built 7,000 nukes (whether you believe they “go bang” is irrelevant here) and have them safely stored away in multiple highly guarded locations, than to actually engineer, build, and maintain 7,000 real nukes.

So, why not just claim you built them and USE THE MONEY FOR THE KOREAN/VIETNAM WAR AND BLACK OPS?

It’s a matter of national security, above reproach, so you could easily get away with it.

Since you own the media, the scientists, and your “opposition” in Russia is your fellow Jews, they could even get in on the hoax and claim they built 7,000 or whatever.

Everything is turning out to be fake, but people just won’t let go of MAGAton nukes.

That’s why militaries are scrambling to build real game changers now like hypersonics and lasers.

Russia is an authoritarian Kleptocracy oligarchy run mostly by former KGB intelligence officers including their leader Vladimir “Putty-Putt”….a much better system for the Russian people and while not perfect the lives of most Russians are very much improved since 1990. 22Whiner is clueless as per usual. Mr. Gore is a better man than I for engaging with him!

I hate to tell you guys this but the hyper-sonic superweapons developed by Russia are not all that new and will not work precisely as advertised….no weapon system is perfect (like everything else in life)…..I would ask that you take a short pause and think just a bit…..

Stealth aircraft were actually deployed in Vietnam….meaning the technology had been in development for at least a decade prior to that…..or early to mid-1960s……Much like my argument about the NASA space program…….every other technology in our lives as developed exponentially since the 1960s……are you telling me our most advanced weapons are still from that vintage….No….they are not.

E.g. Google recently announced they have a quantum computer that is now more advanced than any other existing computer….funded by DARPA….I am assuming we are doing very interesting things with that processing power.

So rest assured there is a countermeasure to anything the Chi-coms or Russians possess.

It is also true as Robert points out that many of our weapons platforms are less relevant against the ChiComs, Russians or other advanced adversaries (EU). I would not want to serve on an aircraft carrier in a future conflict…..We have spent $Trillions on dinosaurs to bust up the rubble in third world shitholes….

Insurgencies are relatively easy to defeat if the political will is there….very few governments, however, will be as aggressive as necessary to do so….collateral damage being a polite word for the wholesale slaughter of affiliated people who while they may support the insurgency politically are not actual combatants. Kill everyone and there will be no long-lived insurgency.

Since we as a species have developed any number of weapons with sufficient destructive power to wipe out the entire species I doubt that we will engage in another total war…..could happen by accident but I don’t think it will be consciously sought.

Instead, we will just see more of the post-WWII power politics but the USA may be reduced in status over time…..the uni-polar vs. multi-polar view. That’s what always happens and you can see it occurring even today.

Ghengis Kahn did not attempt to conquer Vietnam, his grandson did take three shots at it but failed for a variety of reason including the somewhat distracting failed efforts to invade Japan! BTW…..there is a fundamental difference between an outsider attempting to impose its will on a country (as in the Mongols invading Vietnam) and a legitimate government composed of leaders from the country fighting a group of their countrymen seeking to dislodge them from power. The Insurgents and the Government are both citizens of the same country…..So our own activities in Vietnam were arguably more in the Mongol vein dressed up to appear to be in support of a legitimate government but I would surprised if a single person on TBP sees it that way….nope we were in there and all of the other shitholes expanding our own empire at the expense of the locals…and who can blame them for fighting back…….I know I would if I was a camel jockey in Iraq, Libya, Syria or a goat rapist in Afghanistan…..

In my neck of the wood you can’t throw a twig without hitting an engineer of some sort, mostly NASA but also ESA, Boeing, Spacex and many more. Over beers with a few of them I brought up the Russian hypersonics and – for what it’s worth – their consensus opinion was that Russia could certainly build things that fly Mach speeds, but they are damn hard to maneuver. So they thought the Russians were semi bluffing.

I have been to Russia many many times….you are simply wrong. Russians are extremely unhealthy and their kids are in even worse physical shape than ours mostly due to diet, smoking, excessive drinking, and very little exercise. There are some thugs, not as many as you would think but last time I checked, thugs are not usually effective soldiers.

Alternatively, we have lots of non-snowflakes who are active in team sports, have their own firearms and have been hunting in harsh weather……they didn’t know they were getting ready for soldiering….but they will adapt quickly just like every other generation of Americans has in every major conflict going back to the colonial period.

Have a little bit of faith, yes we have lots of challenges and I don’t think it is a stretch to say we are in the beginning stages of our own insurgency/civil war but this is simply the normal existential crisis of every 4th Turning.

Speaking of CA, if you spend much time in the surf you will notice the periodic ebb and flow of wave heights. Sets of waves come in, some smaller, some larger and occasionally a rogue wave group comes in substantially larger. If you find yourself in the impact zone when the rogue group comes in, it can be dangerous and the obvious strategy is to swim for shore….wrong, the waves will pull you back and pound you into the bottom…..that is how people die….instead swim like a mad man for deep water, duck dive under the oncoming waves and you can then watch as the big set rolls onto the beach……perfectly safe treading water or hanging onto your board.

Far too many on TBP are in a panic and stroking with abandon for the beach as the big set starts to blot out the sun behind them……don’t be that guy…..quiet the negative thoughts and rest easy in the knowledge that we have been in this exact spot many many times….and we know how to survive and we will prevail.

We never ever removed the criminals who fomented and ran the wars for their profit. All the signs/intel/evidence were present and available BEFORE the wars but the common people have never arrested the criminals who sought to enslave and slaughter them, they always took the bait and lost more and more. It’s not negative it is simply the truth of the matter when viewed through the lens of equal application of law.

Here is an example of one of the differences in-between the U.S. MIC’s research, budget, attitude, methods and the Russians.

When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300°C.

The Russians used a pencil.

Yes, Russians used a pencil…..but only because they didn’t have any pens that worked in normal conditions and had zero capital to invest in a new super pen……Russians are clever at improvising mostly because everything they have is shitty and busted and they can’t afford a high tech answer. If you have ever seen any Russian mil-tech stuff the level of fit and finish is shockingly primitive to our own and while they have functionality their stuff breaks and they simply lack the supply chain capacity to keep it going on a sustained basis…….

E.g. Every non-Moscow/St. Pete airport is a dual-use military facility and if you travel to the hinterlands through these airports the number of rusting decrepit aircraft and lackadaisical military sitting around is notable…. We freak out on aircraft readiness most Russian planes are being cannibalized for spare parts……and the pilots get little air time…..sure they have good first-line units but mostly they are well below our National Guard.

I can’t speak as directly on China but I have heard similar things.

Bob Gore,

You have repeated certain terms in this essay. Collectively they show the US

military weapons and technology are obsolete and ineffective against the other

powers. No wonder there is a race to obtain nuclear power…not for conventional

weapons but for the new technologies. Apparently there are so many hands out

for budget $, that there is no $ left for developing actual products. Actually there is

little $ left for anything of value (infrastructure) because the US is being looted

by the crooks in banking and the MIC. The horrid corruption in gov. allows any and

all crime/ineptitude to continue because their various levels of status remain intact.

The system is just deplorable everywhere one looks and understands.

I read your new book (kindle) and just love it. How clever is it to compare the Godfather/

Mafia origins/practices to the actions/practices of our greater gov. (and business)?

I have to get to the Amz. page and give a proper review. 5 stars for you.

“The US empire may be history’s last.”

That seems rather unlikely. Assuming that ancient Egypt is the beginning of human history — (what came 1,000 years before?) — then, empires have existed throughout human history. Why would that change in the future?

All you need for an empire is; 1) a 1% population psychopath “leaders”, 2) a nation of dumbass sheeple, and 3) desire for something your neighboring country has. Numbers 1 and 2 are basically the story of humanity. And number 3 will only increase as earth’s population increases, and (truly) non-renewable needed resources dwindle (in some cases, dwindling to nothingness). I see empires increasing under this scenario. But, I could be wrong.

Your analysis of military usefulness is 100% spot on. Great job. I can only add that there REALLY TRULY ARE fuckers on this side of the ocean who actually still believe the USA!USA!USA! can win a first-strike nuclear war. These people must honestly be possessed by Demons. How many of these demons are there on our side …. and also on the other side?? Maybe the world really will end in a flash of light as every one of our atoms gets raptured throughout the solar system.

It’s a damned shame that this is only the 30th comment on a brilliant and needed article …… while that Friday Funny stuff will soon be over 200. Pathetic, really.

Maybe the reason is benign and mundane. For example, people are just tired of the weekly doom and gloom, and just need a break from it all. Or, it could be 180 degrees opposite — that TBPers are no different than the rest of the dumbass American population; brain dead zombies addicted to bread, circuses, and irrelevant bullshit. Fiddling on their tube steaks while Amerika burns. Or, somewhere in between these two extremes. At any rate … THIS article is the one that deserves to get to 200!!

It will be a flash of light across the solar system – a solar micronova. They happen every 12068 years next due Octoberish 2046. Sun sheds its outer skin planets lose part of their atmosphere and planets nudge outward in orbit with debris ejection sometimes creating a new inner planet. That’s why Mars has riverbeds but no rivers and little atmosphere – too many micronova cycles. That’s the source of the noah flood story. That is judgement day. The psychopaths who stole the 21 trillion know and are building the underground cities. Those who survive are the ‘chosen ones’ the lineage that moves through eternal life. That was some seriously sophisticated intellectual shit where he actually crafted a couple of paragraphs. He claimed he would get more comments than ever, and would draw more readers to TBP than ever.

Funny, he never says a word about JQ’s posts from Babylon Bee, Knuckledraggin, Feral Irishman, Twttter and Walmart Freaks of the Week. All of which are serious intellectual shit. The arrogance and stupidity of the US elite are second to none in the world at this moment, as witness our obsession with militarily-enforced “nation building,” regime change and righting all wrongs around the world. Well, some wrongs. To paraphrase Joe Sobran, finding fault with US military overreach is like fighting your grandmother. And with Petraeus’s Afghan “get down with the homies” robes and turban exercise it descended into the realm of sad comedy.

That said, it is false to describe the Vietnam war as a military defeat. Even given the politicians’ failure to interdict the Ho Chi Minh trail and mine Haiphong and their incessant and stupid micromanagement of the war, Vietnam was a military victory that was turned into a political defeat by the press and the Democrats in Congress. It’s laid out in Snepp’s Decent Interval. Our little morality play with Watergate also crippled Nixon who was otherwise up to the task of taking the fight to the enemy, as witness the Cambodian incursion. Finally, someone did something about the fisking enemy sanctuaries.

Korea was similarly a war fought in Washington. China and Russia interfered and went unpunished so we ended up with a politically-engineered stalemate but hardly a military defeat.

Richard, Flea,

This is a good link.

http://news.goldseek.com/GoldSeek/1192819378.php

VIETNAM WAR

“U.S. involvement in Vietnam began as far back as 1954, but the “official” position was that no combat missions were conducted until late 1963. The official declaration of war on Vietnam in 1964 came as a direct result of two alleged attacks on two U.S. destroyers by North Vietnamese PT boats in the Gulf of Tonkin. A report released in 2005 by the National Security Agency indicated that the second attack likely never occurred.

During the Vietnam War, many American air commanders were convinced that rigid Rules of Engagement (ROEs) prevented an American aerial victory over North Vietnam during the Rolling Thunder air campaign form 1965-1968. These rules of engagement were declassified in 1985. Many were so restrictive that it was impossible to achieve effective results. Some of the rules included:

North Vietnamese anti-aircraft missile systems could not be bombed until they were known to be operational. No enemy could be pursued if they crossed into neighboring Laos or Cambodia.

Critical strategic targets could only be engaged unless initiated by high military officials. Pilots were restricted from attacking enemy airfields, SAM sites, power plants, naval craft in some areas, a 30 mile area around Hanoi, and a 10 mile area around Haiphong.

In many instances up until early 1967, U.S. pilots were not allowed to engage enemy fighters unless they themselves had been attacked first.

These rules of engagement were televised in North Vietnam thus enabling them to strategize their war tactics around them.

In 1966 Johnson lifted trade restrictions against the Soviet Union knowing full well that the Soviets were funding up to 80% of the North Vietnamese war supplies.

David Rockefeller financed factories in the Soviet known to manufacture military equipment for North Vietnam.

The war in Vietnam was never meant to be won. It was intended to be sustained for the benefit of the central bankers who lent money for the war effort. The war resulted in the deaths of 58,000 U.S. soldiers and three million Vietnamese.”

In my opinion the Rockefellers have surpassed the Rothschild’s in the Crime Family Game of Thrones wars and maneuvers, as all the major Crime Families fight and jockey for control of the New World Order.

Once they took over the power seats in the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in the 50’s they have risen to the dominating Crime Family power position in the U.S.

Here is the close on NAM:
David Rockefeller was the biggest financier of the CFR, the TC and (during the Vietnam War) the Committee for an Effective and Durable Peace in Asia- a contract bonanza for those who made their living off the war.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Nixon (a member of the CFR) asked him to be Secretary of Treasury, but Rockefeller declined the job, knowing his power was much greater at the helm of the Chase. Author Gary Allen writes in The Rockefeller File that in 1973, “David Rockefeller met with twenty-seven heads of state, including the rulers of Russia and Red China.”

It was David Rockefeller who provided the tax free loans to China to build the factories that soon after the American jobs would be shipped to under coming sock puppet presidents and owned Congress members, of both parties.

Kissinger, who was owned by the Rockefellers lock, stock and Harvard Rockefeller paid education really opened China – Nixon got the credit – Kissinger was the real lead representing the Rockefellers as much as the U.S.

It was the Dulles boyz who arranged for the slicing off of eastern New Guinea from Indonesia for the Rockefellers. I think they recently merged with the Rothchilds by way of arranged marriages. Much like Ivanka and the Fresh Prince of Tel Aviv.

Flea,

I was in the bush in 69 and we were throwing hands close in with NVA constantly, when they announced the 9th Marines were pulling out (knew a guy who was in the Walking Dead – he has never made it home in his head to this day) and Vietnamization was taking over…talk about all of us looking at one another not wanting to be the last Grunt killed in action…as evidently we were leaving.

We had a huge attitude change from that moment on. Started sandbagging some pointless patrols and ambushes. Took less risks.

It was the beginning of the end and we all knew it. But, the Banksters led by the Rockefellers, then led by David the Demon still grinded it out many more years, millions of deaths, and trillions of profit continued on, and on and on.

Then they just pulled another FF and started the con over again.

I know more Americans are waking up…but not enough.

Hell will have an eternal tormenting, dark, putrid, hopeless corner for that vile family.

I like Russia. I don’t think Putin is a threat, unless Russian interests were seriously attacked, and believe him to be incredibly tolerant of European and North American politicos and their embedded operatives who try to sell him and his countrymen as pure evil.

I like that Putin recognizes the value of Christianity, family, high morals, and nationalism, while rejecting globalism, open borders, hegemony, and cultural decay.

I like Chinese culture, and have had a great relationship with with a Chinese woman and her family members for almost 30 years.
Mainland China and its military are too large and secretive to trust, IMO. They would be vicious, if we get in a military confrontation with them. Unwise, on our part.

I like Mr. Gore’s writing. He is on par with JQ, HSF, Uncola, and quite a few others I respect.
With this post, the seriousness of our leader’s arrogance and our potential foes’ capabilities are conveyed well.

I don’t like what American politicians and the MIC have been doing for my 6 decades on the planet, and even before my time.

Further, since Clinton’s first term, I’ve hated to learn more and more about how corrupt people with money and power, and evil intentions have hosed the working middle class. And whites.
It is painful to see how they have become bolder these last 20 years.

Then after some research, going back further, I’ve discovered our nation’s and other world leaders historically have been portrayed as great men, but have also been part of the power elite, willing to stomp on other humans in their quests for power, wealth, control.

We have 6 days on this blog, and almost any other current events website, where the majority of the topics reveal how we live among arrogant pricks and their disapproval, or how screwed we are, culturally and economically, even after counting our blessings.

To that, add a divided nation, on the brink of civil war, forecasting a future I don’t want to be a part of. Prepping for survival. Great.
Worrying about the kids, and the nightmare they will inherit.

I’ll be dead and gone before things get seriously nasty. Maybe not.
TSHTF could be right around the corner.

So, when I witness a few decent people taking some respite from the gloom, in an afternoon and evening of fun once a week, as a harmless means of escape for a spell, I smile and enjoy it, and try not to look down on them or their activities as beneath the hierarchy of judgmental superiority.

On our deathbeds, perhaps we’ll lament that we could have accomplished more, or spent more time on serious discussion of worrisome things in our world.
Concern is good, as is wisdom.
If one can master those without falling prey to uncontrolled worry and anxiety, they are fortunate, and few.
For many, though, humor and occasional fun help beat back the haunting and numerous examples of cynicism that could consume us.
Knowing that, and manifesting that occasionally, it seems hypocritical to then mock those who do it on a more frequent basis.
Learn. Love. Listen. Laugh. Live.

Always be humble and kind.

Well, I finally had a chance to read this, Robert, and, as expected, it was excellent.

It pretty much places the current clown show in American politics into proper perspective.

Although the Kinzhal airborn ballistic missile is a menacing threat for sure – it is Russia’s RS-28 Sarmat ICBM and submarine drone that keeps me up at night. In fact, I mentioned these last June in my “Time Passages & Fears Emergent” piece:

Russia also has the RS-28 Sarmat superheavy thermonuclear intercontinental ballistic missile. NATO calls it “Satan 2” because it replaced the R-36M SS-18 Satan. The damn thing flies at Mach 20+ (16,000 mph) and with a range of near 7,000 miles. Putin claims it can’t be intercepted.

Additionally, Russia possesses the Poseidon, a nuclear-tipped torpedo. It’s basically a remote-controlled nuclear powered drone that can travel great distances under the ocean and be detonated just off the U.S. coasts. This would, in turn, create tsunamis which would level the port-cities and military installations located upon America’s shores.

Check out the launch speed in this June, 2019 video beginning at the :28 second mark. Yikes.

Uncola,

Your post made me think back on the 1959 movie ‘On the Beach’. I was then caught up in a depressing flashback as I saw it when I was 9 at the drive in with my family. We left the drive in early as I remember my Mom and Dad were whispering why the plot progressed. I don’t think they realized how grim the movie was going to be, and I kept asking questions about, “Is this why we do duck and cover”. I pulled up the attachment below to refresh my memory. Years later it was on TV and I realized why they dodged some of my questions in the drive in and why we left early.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Beach_(1959_film)

During the Cuban Missile Crisis my Father started digging a fallout shelter in the back yard while my Mother was stocking food and water in the house. When my Father read an article at how where we lived, close to a missile base, we were at Ground Zero and homemade fallout shelters were nothing but family tombs. One evening while staring at the hole in the backyard, and after a couple of beers and shots he announced the changed purpose of his digging. Soon after we ended up with a swimming pool! That pool provided some of the best memories of my cherished childhood in a loving, protective, tender, and robust family. I always called it the ‘Fallout Pool’.

I whole heartily agree with SmallerGovNow that our greatest enemies and risks are within from our own people, and corrupt government, but the head of the snake, the Luciferian Globalists that pumped many of them in and have perverted too many Americans in too many ways, and who rule or influence most of the world, including the U.S. starting in 1913, are our collective enemy. Everybody else is just one of their sock puppets.

I don’t know exactly why the United States ends up in the End Times as not even a blip on the prophetic radar screen, I have my theories, and I have posted them on other threads. I’m convinced that our unimportance will happen eventually. I have long accepted the inevitability of that, but that does not mean many of U.S. will not only survive, but thrive…no matter the circumstances. I intend to be a thriver …not just a survivor.

In spite of all the above being thought out loud, I have to leave to put two cold hardy Russian Pomegranate trees in the ground that were just delivered to my front porch. I don’t know about their missiles but here on the border in-between growing zone 8 & 7 I’m looking forward to some Red Russian Pomegranates in my orchard no matter what happens. And if a gray turning white haired wolverine is ever needed…count me in!

In spite of all that is swirling around U.S. I am left with one immutable fact that I take great comfort in…paraphrasing the words Greg Hunter uses to close his weekly Friday news wrap up vid… “Fear Not God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are fully in charge”.

The supersonic will be nothing compared to the supernatural.

It’s like “The Day After”, the day after, if ya know what I mean. Hide the rope, razors, and pills, folks, cuz that one’s more depressing than a Jerry Springer Christmas special or watching Nancy Pelosi pole dance.

But turning a fallout shelter into swimming pool? Now that’s what I call a good plot twist. Good on you, bud. ? As for the rest of story? We’ll know soon…

I completely avoided ‘The Day After’ nucular hand ringing as during much of the 80’s I was intentionally living reclusively in the middle of nowhere in West Texas. I had – had enough of the Cold War in my boyhood, and then as an extra in the SE Asian version of a mad Max movie hot war called Nam.

However time closes all wounds, scars remain but eventually, if you are lucky and as the Believers like to say ‘blessed’ (I don’t usually talk in Christianize) God finds you (you don’t find Him as many say – you are the one lost – not Him).

Then starting on May 26th 1993 at exactly 3:00 am I came back into the world of the healing Walking Wounded, as opposed to being one of the lost – who I now refer to as the real Walking Dead, unless one day they too get lucky and are found by the Trinue God.

Great article! It seems in your hiatus, times have gotten noticeably closer to the brink.

I feel it is important to be reminded what position we are in globally with the threat of aggression from other countries, as we enter this time of weakening, due to our political system destroying itself over the impending impeachment inquiry.

The democrats have been working overtime in preparing a new (and tilted in their favor) impeachment inquiry, along with the intelligence community making last minute adjustments to their whistle blower requirements to allow second hand reporting, just a few days before the whistle blower came forward.

Interesting times.

It seems the Battle Royale is just now getting underway and how this turns out will determine the course of our country. Maybe this was the event the president was preparing for, to release his evidence of the takeover of our government by the coup plotters. It does seem we are getting into our battle formations in preparation for this final showdown. With all this happening it is important to know how other countries might react at our moment of weakness.

Time for prayer and watchfulness as we enter this uncharted territory of national instability, may God have mercy on us.

The country will destroy itself from within. Foreign countries don’t have to do anything. The Democrats are willing to destroy the country right now as long as they come to power afterward. The resulting civil war should be a hoot. They are trying right now to get rid of weapons that can be used to take them out.
All the people who own scoped deer hunting rifles and AR-15,s muck up their plans of domination.
Putin just watches and laughs a lot.

Reality check. Superior ability to commit violence always wins if one is willing to use it to it’s logical end. The American Indian Wars victory model is always successful. Kill them all or kill them until they stop fighting and then drug them and breed the red out of them.

Good one, RG.

And, by the way, the US has been in Empire mode since that wall came down in Berlin. It was just not announced… Now that the European Union has proven itself to be BREXIT proof, the powers that be will move into consolidating power mode. A Northern American Continental Alliance could form that would recognize all existing governments (both Federal and State) and the next thing you know? North American Union and no borders and a common currency…

How does a country become an empire? A little at a time and then, I’m betting, all at once.

In the proofreading world, that’s a typographical error, not a spelling error.

Bob…
Your book arrived just in time for the weekend storm. Thanks.
The cover could almost be a likeness of a youthful R. Gore. Nah, no way. Prime Deceit is looking more prophetic every year except instead of a fountain of youth it’s a fountain of money and f-35ish boondoggles.
