THEY CAN’T IGNORE THIS SELF-IMMOLATION

Does this Fourth Turning appear to be picking up momentum? As the economy continues to spiral downward, Wall Street continues to loot and pillage, and Washington DC politicians continue to do nothing but posture and bloviate, people have begun to lose their minds. In the last week we’ve had a man lose it and kill 12 people in Washington DC. Yesterday we had a woman lose it and get gunned down by DC police. Today we have a man self-immolating on the Mall in Washington DC.

It seems they have the right place. The next step is likely to be people losing it and assassinating politicians and bankers.

The MSM completely ignored the self-immolation of  Tom Ball in New Hampshire over a year ago. There was a complete MSM blackout on the story. Only the alternate truth telling media like TBP picked up the story:

http://www.theburningplatform.com/2011/06/20/nh-man-burns-self-at-courthouse-in-protest/

Not this time. When someone self immolates themselves on the National Mall during a government shutdown, it can’t be ignored. The self-immolation of a man in Tunisia started the Arab Spring revolutions in 2010. The Middle East has been ablaze in violence and revolution since then.

File:Mohamed Bouazizi.jpg

Is this past week of people going off the deep end in the nation’s capital the start of the American Spring? Are people across the country going to start losing it?

I know one thing for sure. Fourth Turnings never fizzle out. They grow in intensity and in violence.

Coming to a street corner near you.

Man Sets Himself On Fire On National Mall, Near White House

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/04/2013 17:25 -0400

Yesterday it was a shooting at a runaway mom driver that shut down the Capitol area for hours. Today, while there have been no shootings in D.C.,  moments ago we just got news of a self-immolation in the middle of the National Mall, where a man allegedly doused himself in gasoline and set himself on fire, suffering life-threatening injuries according to the DC Fire Department.

NBC Washington reports that “Passersby on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., ripped off their shirts to help extinguish the flames after a man apparently tried to set himself on fire Friday, witnesses and authorities said. The man was conscious and breathing when he was flown by helicopter to Washington Medical Center, D.C. police said. There was no immediate report on his condition. The incident, which was reported at 4:24 p.m. ET, occurred on Seventh Street Southwest near the National Air and Space Museum, U.S. Park Police said. Witnesses told several media organizations, including NBC Washington, that they saw the man pour gasoline on himself from a red canister and then set himself ablaze. Police said they couldn’t confirm those reports. Nearby joggers stopped and ripped off their shirts to smother the flames, NBC Washington reported.”

The burned man was promptly carried off the Mall using a helicopter.

Politico adds:

A fire official says a man has been flown to the hospital after setting himself on fire on the National Mall.

Fire crews responded Friday afternoon to a report of a man on fire at 7th and Madison streets. A witness says she saw a man dump a red canister of gasoline on his head and then set himself on fire.

D.C. Fire Department spokesman Tim Wilson says the man has life-threatening injuries.

His name and age weren’t immediately known.

Jim,

You do realize that that comment can raise all sorts of red flags with the TPTB, don’t you? Of course you do, given today’s unrest and atmosphere of domestic spying scandals.

I do not disagree with your statement, save for substituting the word “arresting” for “assassinating.” And I’d start with Obama, Jaime Dimon, Lloyd Blankfein, Eric Holder, and oh hell, the list is getting really long.

Anyhow, you might get in really deep shit for that comment. I doubt that TBP supporters will weigh in on this thread. We’ll see.

I am currently reading a book by Murrray Rothbard called “Conceived in Liberty”. It is an historical book dealing with the establishment of the colonies and the interaction with the various colonial state governments the crown and the people.

This morning I am in 1765 when, after Parliament passed the notorious Stamp Act, and after Patrick Henry got 4 of 7 resolutions passed in Virginia, Sam Adams in Massachusetts organized “The Loyal Nine” group which became the Sons of Liberty.

The way they handled the encroachment on their liberty should be a lesson to us and the tyrants:
They systematically threatened and destroyed property of the Crown agent that was to have the lucrative business of dispensing the Stamped papers, and the stoned the governor. The revolution truly started Aug 14, 1765.

The tyrants will only stop when they fear for themselves and their loved ones.

Read Rothbard.

They will do much worse than ignore this event.

They’ll cover it. Erroneously, superficially, without context or thought, ‘wow, look at that’, then it will fade into the abyss. Like every other news story.

I don’t know which is worse.

Interestingly, this report from the nydailynews says there might be a videotape. Then again, the daily news has never been accused of accuracy.

Fuck ‘deep shit’. Fuck the NSA, DOJ, and all the rest of the fascist piggies. If we ain’t gonna use the little bit of free speech we still enjoy uninfringed, what good are we?

I welcome TPTB knocking on my door for posting on a message board where such a statement as SSS cited, a forecast of what comes next, is cause for these feckless fuckers to react. When they are ready to escalate the police state bullshit that far, it will be time for me to leave. Despite all the violations of law, constitution and human rights perpetrated by our government upon the citizens, they are still big, dumb and slow moving by and large. (Well, not in the case of a dental hygenist driving down Pennsylvania Avenue, but by and large.) They ain’t gonna start filling up GITMO with online chatters tomorrow. I think we are cool for Sunday, too.

The march to totalitarianism and a full lock-down state is not irreversible. Each step makes the endpoint that much more certain, and we are certainly on that road. Germany did not turn all of a sudden the day after Hitler took office (or the day after the Reichstag fire). History is a funny thing, just when you get used to the pace of events, they can suddenly accelerate, halt, or even reverse.

Each person has to decide for themselves when it is too late, and when it is time to get out of Dodge. For a lot of folks, they’ve already reached that point and moved overseas (or taken five gallons and a lighter out to the National Mall). Many will never check out, or not until it is too late to leave.

I’m sticking around for now. But, if/when they knock on my door, that’ll be a day to reconsider.

Oh, in case you missed it fellas, FUCK THE NSA!

Thank God for more and better armed police, military/police cooperation, NSA surveillance, street cameras, FEMA camps, an enormous prison system, the Patriot Act, and all the other apparatuses of the national security state.

There may be more disturbances, riots, and shootings as Gerald Celente and Administrator suggest. I think there probably will be. Fortunately for us and Administrator, who occasionally has to drive thru the slums, the police state will be able to control the frustrated loser class. Despite their frustrated lurchings, we should be able to keep our boots on their necks indefinitely.

tax Slave, when things started to get warm, then hot for British-American officials after the Stamp Act, what action did the colonial and British governments take? As I recall it was mostly to try something else, which was mostly unpopular and often equally or more oppressive.

Then, when the shooting started, what happened? The British put Billy Howe, a general sympathetic to the colonials, in charge of keeping Americans in the empire. Fearing for themselves and their loved ones didn’t stop the British in our Revolutionary War. British incompetence, fierce American fighters like Arnold, Stark, Hamilton, and Morgan, the Fabian generals Washington and Greene, and the French, did it.

If worse comes to revolts or civil war in our future, the government will be Lincolnesque. Fearing for themselves or their loved ones won’t soften their resolve. The elites will stop at nothing to preserve their power, money, and privileges. That’s been the way of the world.

For Pete’s sake, of course you aren’t.

My comment above was based upon the federal government’s penchant for going after the low-hanging fruit, whether it’s a nation state (Iraq) or a website which “appears” to threaten national security. If TBP hits enough computer-generated buzz words associated with terrorism, then you must know that there could be unwarranted attention to your website.

It is essentially the only youtube video up right now and its only gotten 51 views… Odd…

But not when there’s so many of us, Howard. Check out David Moskovitz’s video post above.

My warning to Admin is well grounded in experience. The federal government DOES go after the low hanging fruit. Why? Because it’s easier, particularly from a legal standpoint. So it makes sense to target The Burning Platform versus Zero Hedge, which has a much larger following.

This is not to put a damper in any way shape or form on what’s said or posted on this site (no nudity!!!!) or how this forum is run. That’s not my intention at all. But Moskovitz’s post is extremely instructive. There are many more of us TBPers out there, regardless of whether they comment or not, and the numbers are growing.

Self-immolation solves nothing. It won’t register on sociopaths.

That said, the elites can and will ignore it. There’s lots of precedent for it and you’re forgetting the MSM is owned by the ruling class. Even if it gets out, it will be spun in the favor of the tyrants like Snowden’s revelations.

What it will take, is conditions as they were at the turn of the last century among American workers. Life was hard, businessmen worked them like dogs under horrible conditions, etc. Made for hard ass men. When conditions reach a similar point then elites will have trouble on their hands.

It’ll get there. Just give the elites a little more rope. They can’t help themselves, this class never could. They will push it, until the system breaks or they do something incredibly stupid and brazen to the populace that it make them bat shit crazy in response. Say their “Let them eat cake” moment.

It happened to the Romans and French nobility. They were the instruments of their own destruction. We’re no better, probably a lot worse than them in that department.

“The next step is likely to be people losing it and assassinating politicians and bankers and social workers” ———- Admin (slightly modified)

My son was supposed to stay with us for two months. He went back after 8 days.

I did everything I could. Long and productive talks. Three excellent home-cooked from-scratch meals every day. Trips. Ms Freud bought him clothes. But he said he didn’t feel “totally comfortable” here. That he missed his own environment. Plus, he’s been seeing a girl … although she is not yet a “girlfriend”. (Hard to find a girlfriend when one has no job, no car .. no nothing . Saw her pic on facebook … real pretty, and writes well.) So … although I was devastated, I guess I “get it”. Cried all the way home from the train station.

The thing that tipped the scales was that his social worker promised him they wouldn’t force him to take the Abilify shots. I talked to her. “NO MORE ABILIFY!!”, she promised me. OK. I had my doubts … yet, she sounded quite sincere about that. … and, my son totally believed her.

Ms Freud noted to me that she didn’t see ONE single sign of neurosis or psychosis. But, she’s biased. So we took him to a non-biased 3rd party, a Psychiatrist who lives very close. Exactly the same diagnosis. I KNOW my own son and would be the first to say he needs help, but I just didn’t see a “nut job”. I see a kid who has lost his way … due in no small part to a system who treats him like a human pin cushion for god-only-knows what fucking perverted reason.

Soooo …. he’s back there for 2 days. Knock, knock. It’s the social worker. “We’re here to give you your shot.” SJ says, “But you said you wouldn’t force me to take Abilify!!”. The cunt whore government bitch calmly says … “It’s no Abilify. It’s something else.”. (haha, joke’s on you and your dad, motherfucker!!).

I am still in shock, and depressed. And so the same-old-shit starts afresh once again.

How much can a person take? Someone’s gonna pay.

Hey SSS~
(1:43am post)

Let me quickly make this point. You are correct that it is bad form for me to poke at the authorities on the platform, knowing that any response is likely to be against TBP as well as me personally. It is kinda pussy for me to shout, “down with the government” here, then scoot off to Mexico while they round up Quinn and the rest of y’all traitors.

I did take this into account. I did consider that shouting “Fuck the NSA” might bring a knock at the doors of other folks, specifically that of our host and administrator. I figured he would be cool with it; I think I have said similar or worse in the past, w/o rebuke. So I went ahead. By extension, I figure such language and sentiment is well within the norms of this community, and we have discussed the topic of government surveillance and attention to this board in the past. My thinking is the possibility of unwanted gubmint notice is part of the price of admission. As the Snowden revelations and common sense now tell us, part of the price of admission for any online activity, and a growing percentage of IRL actions as well (at least among the security camera jungle of NYC).

You are correct, you make an excellent point, which is not lost on me and one which I do consider when I poke the gorilla on the other side of the bars (I’m still trying to figure which side is the cage, theirs or ours). I certainly do not wish anyone else to suffer for my individual crimes against the state. Unfortunately, the state is not exactly fair, logical or judicious in punishing such matters, so I also fall back on a ‘whaddaya gonna do’ attitude.

Now that that business is adressed, let me stand aside. Cause this should be a good one, and I don’t wanna catch any shrapnel (ironically). Hey, admin, I brought beers. Pass the popcorn!

What the fuck is your story, anyway. The next time you attack me, try using some facts, not the disjointed rantings of a lunatic.

I’ll go first. Re your statements on the CIA.

CIA created in 1947 via the Defense Reorganization Act. Thank Harry Truman. He supported the legislation and signed it.

Coups in Iran and Guatemala in 1953 and 1954, respectively. Green light from Dwight Eisenhower for both coups.

Bay of Pigs in 1961. Approved by Eisenhower after it became crystal clear that Fidel Castro was firmly in the Soviet orbit. Green light from JFK.

Cuban missile crisis. Exposed after CIA U-2 overflights of Cuba and the photos were shown to JFK. Oops, that’s a success story, right?

Assassination attempts against Fidel Castro. Green lights from both Ike and JFK.

Assassination of President Diem in South Vietnam. It was the fucking State Department which was actively supporting a coup against Diem, not the CIA. But it WAS the CIA which was warning that South Vietnamese generals were plotting a coup, and it WAS the CIA which had an in place plan to exfil Diem out of the country if a coup took place. And it was the fucking State Department, specifically Ambassador Lodge, who totally fucked things up by letting Diem fall into the hands of the Vietnamese generals, who ordered Diem to be murdered.

Assassination of JFK. Lone gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald. If you’ve credible evidence otherwise, I’m all ears.

Che Guevara. Killed by members of the Bolivian Army, with the assistance of the CIA as approved by Lyndon Johnson.

Invasion of the Dominican Republic. Oh, hell. That’s easy. Lyndon Johnson.

Manuel Noriega. Handled by the US Army, not the CIA.

I’ll stop here. That should give you plenty to chew on for a while, SAH. But there’s more where that came from. A lot more.

Also! It pisses me the fuck off that anyone would insinuate that Admin has ever advocated violence. I happen to be addicted to Jim Quinn’s writing, and he has consistently said he doesn’t believe violence is the solution, he has never advocated for it that I have ever read. The man and young sons, he doesn’t want to see a break down into savagery.

He also has a realist/fatalist/historian perspective though – this the recurrent Strauss and Howe theme. When shit gets this bad, when shit breaks down, when people start losing it, more often than not people die (French revolution, American revolution, civil war, commie revolutions in Russia and China etc). It’s just a sad, endless historic cycle of mayhem that Jim Quinn in no way has ever advocated nor does he or any of us have direct control over. Admin is always trying to provide information, to help find a better solution to this horrific crisis. This doesn’t stop the fact that the whole country is full of retards and likely one or more is going to behave like violent idiots and savage beasts in the case of SNAP shutting down and glitches in the FSA supply chain as the Government goes bankrupt. Jim Quinn has every right to “call it” in terms of the probability of how dumb ass masses are going to respond when TSHTF and the printing presses stop. He is not an advocate of radical behavior or violent revolution, if he was I wouldn’t read his stuff. He advocates knowledge, transparency, good accounting practices, rational conclusions, and rational solutions – he is a smart, clean cut dweeb, and the sort of guy the government doesn’t listen to.
