Pending Homes Plunge, Surprising Economists
The plunge caught economists by surprise. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast pending home sales would tick up 0.3 percent.
This pending home sales index fell to 92.4 from a downwardly revised 101.2 in November. These signed contracts are an indicator of sales in January and February, and are at the lowest level since October 2011.
Not that we need more doom, but the number of things happening to drive societal change is pretty fascinating.
Some Bay Area Communities Could Run Out Of Water Within 4 Months
SAN JOSE (KCBS) — As the drought in California continues, 17 communities throughout the state could run out of water within 60 to 120 days, state officials said.
In some districts, the wells are running dry while other reservoirs are nearly empty. The state Health Department compiled a list after surveying the more than 3,000 water agencies in California last week.
