I retired nearly 30 years ago. During my service, the question of any member of the active duty armed forces firing on fellow Americans was simply unthinkable. It. Just. Was.
Haven’t changed my mind one iota as far as I’m concerned, but an element of doubt is creeping in. I’d still give the odds at about 50-1 (2%) against it happening, but the odds in my day were pretty close to zero. No, wait. They were zero.
I wish I had my finger on the pulse of these young cadets and junior officers. Unfortunately, I don’t.

Generals may direct a war effort on the strategic level, but without thousands of troops at their command, they can’t win all by themselves. Also, at least when I was in the Army Reserves (to help pay for Med school) a huge deal was made about legal versus illegal orders. Unless Obongo drafts a bunch of freeshitters in the service, I can’t imagine volunteer regular troops firing on American citizens.

“The laws under which Snowden is charged don’t distinguish between sharing information with the press in the public interest, and selling secrets to a foreign enemy,” Wizner said.

Stunned by deterioration in the earth’s climate, the president is expected to propose taking dramatic new action on Climate Change, such as scheduling any future speeches in warmer places like Hawaii.

Stuck, I don’t think anybody actually watched his speech. Most people can’t stand looking or listening to Obama. Every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie. The cadets were “just following orders”, and I’m sure they were ORDERED to salute and clap at the monkey giving the speech. I’ll bet they all went home and had to take very long showers, to wash off the slime and filth they felt.
I hope they’ve been brainwashed enough by the liberal progressives in the military, because they might soon be told to kill innocent American citizens.
