Above all, depoliticization is promoted through society’s being enveloped in an atmosphere of collective fear and of individual powerlessness: fear of terrorists, loss of jobs, the uncertainties of pension plans, soaring health costs, and rising educational expenses.”

We are in a time of continuous crisis and emergency. The newest one, replacing the previous, and the previous one is soon forgotten or loses importance.
The US has a lot of assets. We won’t collapse. Instead it will be a slow painful decline, as we are plundered by TPTB and gross incompetence.
