I was sorry when HW Bush became president. I was ever sorrier when Clinton became president I went bi-polar when Bush Jr became president and positively depressed when Obama got elected.

But, no matter who gets elected the next merry-go-round, I will likely be suicidal. Thanks sheople, of all strains, you have been a great help to America.

I want to thank the sheople, of all types, for their brilliant political philosophies.

@sensi,bb,scratcher and bill. 4T will flush some of the poison out of the system unless it leads to the end of an epoch like the fall of Rome. Lean back and watch the show and CYA. Above all else be armed.

I find in this nothing but hilarity. I could not vote in this election because I no longer support this sytem. We, much like the Germans before us, are coming to realize that Democracy is nothing more than mob rules. The unproductive class is such a powerful voting block that this Republic, as it currently stands, can not withstand much more siphoning from the public largesse yet no one will stop it.

Anyone with any common sense is seriously exploring the unthinkable – the Fall.

I predict, in 8 years we will be crying about the POS we elect in 2016. We are really in a giant circle jerk. TPTB must laugh their asses off after every election. Nothing ever changes. The republicants could have shut down Obamacare if they wanted to. They did not. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss….

The tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants…..

Winston – the tree of liberty is dead. Most folks – almost all – do not understand the concept of freedom. If there is an uprising, I am dead certain that the wrong folks will be bled. A disproportionate number of innocent and uninvolved will be bled. There would be a general lashing out, but to no gain.

The founding fathers understood freedom and liberty. The current batch of folks do not know who the vice-president is, much less who the founding fathers were. They certainly will not have read the Constitution nor the Bill of Rights.

For instance, how has the Arab Spring worked out? A lot of folks were bled. But there was no theme, no idea, no set of principles involved. We are mad as hell and will not take anymore was what happened, and now they are getting more of the same – much more.

As will be the case in any US uprising. If it happens there will be riots and death, but in the end the new boss will be the same as the old boss.

Without a theme, without a set of principles, without leaders of substance and courage, there will be no change in the current circumstances.

In a word, we are doomed.

llpoh,

Spot on, we are in a theme park with nothing of substance to grasp onto.

Hate to admit it lllpoh, but you are probably right. The words spoken in the past from the founding fathers, ring as true today, if not more, than 250 years ago. It is very frustrating to me, to listen to the radio, (I know longer have TV) and hear the clowns talk about all the wonderful change we will have.

The Republicants were in power for many years, the border was still open, the middle class still got somewhat screwed and we were being pushed into Fascism. With the Dems, the only difference I see, is that we are being pulled into Fascism.

Either way, it is full steam ahead to Fascism. Very depressing. For the first time in the history of mankind, there is no where to run to now.

Reagan was right.

If we lose freedom here, there’s no place to escape to.

These things are inevitable. The great cycles of civilizations, or any organized human societies always end this way. It is unfortunate for any decent, thinking person to be alive in these times, but you cannot alter the time into which you were born. What you can do is act like the seed and harden yourself for the long Winter ahead, find a place where you are safe from the fire and the floods and where the ideas, the inspirations, the truths and the human decency can survive until the time when all of those things can once again flourish.

“We are born into this time and must bravely follow the path to the destined end. There is no other way. Our duty is to hold on to the lost position, without hope, without rescue, like that Roman soldier whose bones were found in front of a door in Pompeii, who, during the eruption of Vesuvius, died at his post because they forgot to relieve him. That is greatness. That is what it means to be a thoroughbred. The honorable end is the one thing that can not be taken from a man.”
― Oswald Spengler, Man and Technics: A Contribution to a Philosophy of Life

HSF, an overwhelming desire of self-preservation is a gift from God and to flippantly reject the gift of life , in lieu of a sworn duty to evil (i.e. state) is indeed the work of the dark force of demonic indoctrination.

One can stand their post and quietly slip into the night if they so choose , but I myself prefer the order of Dylan Thomas.

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO
THAT GOOD NIGHT

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I didn’t sense anything flippant in that quote. My own advice is to harden yourself and preserve the germ of civilization, but I think the Spengler quote serves another purpose, to reveal that our actions are every bit as important- live or die- as survival. The old “I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees” approach.

We all die, that’s life. We live in a time of almost universal debasement and degeneracy. If living under those conditions is somehow superior to dying honorably when in the end we all die anyway, I’d rather go like the soldier at Pompei.

YMMV

I’m looking at the quote in context of the Roman soldier choosing duty to the state over self-preservation. i.e. life.
But I agree, ..better to die facing your foe, like a man, than to die groveling on one’s knees with a bullet in the back.

I’m sorry we allow our young people the right to vote. I noticed that 18 to 29 year old voters in the districts I studied late on election night voted 70% or higher for the DEMS and that was in the southern states. WTF, don’t they get it yet? Tuesday’s election left me unsettled in many ways. Obonzo will knife us in the back in every way before he exists stage left and the young ones will applaud him. NOTE: These were white 18 to 29.

Bea Lever, you should be overwhelmed with pride for the nation that our young “hero” generation took their civic duty to vote seriously and exercised that right in such large numbers…rock that vote!

Democracy is our strength!

One thing we can be sure of after this historical Republican revelation are more shovel ready jobs in the military..John ” Boots on the Ground” McCain and his sweetheart Lispey Graham will see to that….support the troops. they’re protecting your freedom.

two pieces of the puzzle on how to institute totalitarian control without appearing to do so?

But this was only a last step in giving up living one’s own life, in no longer defying the death instinct, which, in more scientific terms, has been called the principle of inertia. The first step was taken long before anyone entered the death camps. It was inertia that led millions of Jews into the ghettos that the SS created for them. It was inertia that made hundreds of thousands of Jews sit home, waiting for their executioners, when they were restricted to their homes.
r. Bruno Bettelheim, writing in the forward to Auschwitz: A Doctor’s Eyewitness Account by Miklós Nyiszli, 1960. (Dr, Bettelheim was arrested by the Nazis at the time of the Austrian Anschluss in 1938 and was held at the concentration camps at Dachau and Buchenwald. He was very lucky to have been released in a propaganda ploy of the Nazis in 1939 and to flee Germany before the Holocaust really got into high gear.)

Unable to pinpoint who might have come in close contact with Ebola, and be at risk of contracting the virus, they will reach for their most absolute tool – forced quarantine – as a way to mitigate threat amidst uncertainty. The number of people who will be placed into forced quarantines could easily number in the hundreds. ( or millions?)
