I read in another post that USA spends $1.3 T per year for the war machine. Could that be a contributing factor?

The debt will never be paid down so long as our money is that very debt. To pay it down would be to initiate deflation the very thing the fed fights so hard to prevent. Money creation is debt creation in the current system we have. Whenever a politician says they are going to pay down the debt they are either lying or ignorant of the situation.
Screw the petro dollar……screw the gold dollar. Link the creation of money to human labor. All wages and/or compensation for labor shall be paid in dollars directly created and issued by the US Treasury. Re-attach the grounding strap to this unstable system. Banks shall be forbidden from paying payroll paychecks in bank credit of any kind.
