QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Washington has become our Versailles. We are ruled, entertained, and informed by courtiers — and the media has evolved into a class of courtiers. The Democrats, like the Republicans, are mostly courtiers. Our pundits and experts, at least those with prominent public platforms, are courtiers. We are captivated by the hollow stagecraft of political theater as we are ruthlessly stripped of power. It is smoke and mirrors, tricks and con games, and the purpose behind it is deception.”

“I’m not only going to kill him, I’m going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down’… “The only problem we’re going to have is running out of fuel and bullets”. – Jordan’s King Abdullah on fighting ISIS….

THIS motherfucker! 🙂 LOL!

This is the kind of leadership we used to be known for… the King is a bonafied pilot, and if he actually flies sorties against ISIS personally, well… it would almost be unprecedented in modern warfare. Think what you want, but if dude puts his ass on the line, personally, to me that demonstrates intestinal fortitude and a moral courage that is rare in the world. Especially in leaders.

The last time a sitting American President took to the field personally to lead troops was George Washington during the Whiskey Rebellion… could you all imagine Obongo taking to the field to “lead” our troops? Heh….

I know the King was quoting Clint Eastwood as William Munny in “Unforgiven”, but I couldn’t help but be reminded of DeNiro in “The Untouchables”…

If the Repulicans were to act as the Democrats and exclude left wing media dubbing them “government agents” things could change.

“We want an independent press that’s a check on government not lap dogs for the government”. Then get some mean Burning Platform types to do all the interviewing.

The “media” exist to tell people what they want to hear, and sell soap commercials in the process.

It is absurdly naive to speak of the MSM as some foreign entity, sitting apart from its audience.

Most men are slaves. They don’t want liberty, or freedom, or peace. They want sameness, and a coherent place for themselves that doesn’t ask too much of them and just provides a burger, fries and a beer while the gladiators battle on the Electric Colosseum. Most of the rest wish to boss their neighbors around and take their stuff, for the simple pleasures of doing so.

Very few are smart enough, self-confident enough and self-controlled enough to live in a “free country” while forgoing the “joys” of bossing (beating or butchering) others.

Nothing, absolutely NOTHING ever changes.

Pretty much, yeah. Except instead of George being the instigator, it was that stupid fuck Alexander Hamilton who insisted on the tax on whiskey. He was first Sec. Treasury and pushed really fucking hard for a central bank…

Thank God for Aaron Burr…

@ Buckhed,

Which is why I said “first sitting President”….

There have been others who led troops in the field and then later on became President… Andy Jackson, Grant, blah… but not a sitting President taking the field with his troops. I can’t think of one other President who has done so, other than Washington…

Used to be, if a leader judged that they had to go to war, then his ass was out there on the field, too…

Not anymore… I think if we brought that back as a rule, that a President or a Prime Minister had to go into harm’s way if they declared war, I think there’d be a lot less wars…
