And their fleece is called a blanket, not a fleece. Why, I don’t know.
Alpaca is much warmer than wool, but it has no memory and so it’s better for either weaving or knit very tightly on very small needles.
I just recently finished a sweater I knitted from hand spun alpaca I got from a local grower. I spin, dye, knit and weave my own stuff. I have all kinds of post apocalyptic skills that I can’t make money at. But my family gets killer stuff 🙂
