UK PM David Cameron Proclaims: It’s Not Enough To Follow The Law, You Must Love Big Brother

Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

It’s not just those domestic extremists and crazy “conspiracy theory” kooks who took serious issue with UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s recent overtly fascist language when it comes to freedom of expression in Great Britain. For example, in a post published today, the UK Independent describes the quote below as “the creepiest thing David Cameron has ever said.”

Screen Shot 2015-05-14 at 11.52.20 AM

This statement, and others like it, are a huge deal. This isn’t how the leader of a major civilized Western so-called “democracy” speaks to the citizenry. It is how a master talks to his slaves. How a ruler addresses his subjects. I think the following tweet by Glenn Greenwald earlier today sums up David Cameron’s attitude perfectly well:

This is really the mentality of Her Majesty’s Government RT @akaSassinak But now it is not enough to obey. You must LOVE BIG BROTHER.

Those of us who are in disbelief over David Cameron’s recent language, don’t have to just point to the quote above. There’s a lot more to it than a simple quote. For example, the Guardian reports:

The measures would give the police powers to apply to the high court for an order to limit the “harmful activities” of an extremist individual. The definition of harmful is to include a risk of public disorder, a risk of harassment, alarm or distress or creating a “threat to the functioning of democracy”.

A “risk of public disorder,” or a “risk of harassment alarm or distress.” Think about that for a second. Pretty much 90% of all speech could be classified as posing a risk to all of those things. It’s basically banning any criticism the government doesn’t like. Truly remarkable. Now here’s how the magnificent “democracy” of Great Britain plans on dealing with such “extremists.”

They would include a ban on broadcasting and a requirement to submit to the police in advance any proposed publication on the web and social media or in print. The bill will also contain plans for banning orders for extremist organizations which seek to undermine democracy or use hate speech in public places, but it will fall short of banning on the grounds of provoking hatred.

Although I’m not a British citizen and have never lived in the UK, I have spent some time writing about the disturbing trends happening across the pond due to the historic, cultural, geopolitical and linguistic ties between the U.S. and Great Britain. I warned all about these dangerous trends last fall in the post, The UK’s Conservative Party Declares War on YouTube, Twitter, Free Speech and Common Sense. Here are a few excerpts:

Teresa May wants to “ban non-violent extremist groups that fall short of the current threshold for being banned as terrorist-related organizations.” Think about that very closely. Essentially, she is saying non-violent groups that are currently not breaking any laws should be criminalized by creating new laws. Once this process begins, it will continue to be expanded and expanded until pretty much every form of expression other than government propaganda will be banned.

Secondly, she notes that the new laws are necessary to combat groups that undertake activities “for the purpose of overthrowing democracy.” Considering that the U.S. government changes the meanings of words at a moment’s notice, such as claiming that “imminent” doesn’t really mean “imminent,” I argue that an official government definition of democracy is necessary. Moreover, what if the UK is like the U.S., a state that claims to be a democracy, but in reality is an oligarchy? What are the rules about calling for the removal of an oligarchy?

Have fun mates.

“A separate bill will be introduced later in the parliament to revive and extend the so-called snoopers charter, which would include the retention of records of phone calls, emails and other data.”

Same creepy stuff the USSA has been doing for years…

Cameron’s statement is very creepy, but it is very useful. I thank Mr. Cameron for his honesty, for he lays bare the true intent of our “democratic” owners.

I wonder what will happen when the nascent trend change turns into a rout?

People will become angrier, then blindly enraged. The gulf between those who think “government” should control everyone’s behavior and even THOUGHTS and those who reject such insanity will become so deep and wide that violence between the two groups will be certain.

All of this is about to occur in a world where satellites can perform facial recognition, everyone’s movements are tracked and recorded permanently and sifted by “algorithm” for signs of BadThink, every streetcorner is under mass surveillance, an entire prison-gulag industry now thirsts for more bodies, and people are about to be smashed into near-universal poverty.

Britain is the leading edge of Fabian Socialism (belaboring the obvious.) Orwell was not waxing fictional when he described the English Socialist Party (Ingsoc) as so obsessed with exercising power over people that Badthink got you put in a room where (in Winston Smith’s case) they put a cage over his head with a hungry rat inside it.

This is what the David Cameron’s of the world represent. He is O’Brien.

It is David Cameron’s boot, the one Orwell described as the future where every man exists with a boot stomping his face….forever.

This is the Apogee of Political Organization of society in a “democratic” polity where, unlike a totalitarian dictatorship where only citizens’ actions are controlled, in democracy the rulers must make every attempt to control people’s BELIEFS and THOUGHTS.

Nowhere in the USSR did there exist a real attempt to control people’s thoughts. Propaganda was transparent and obvious. Only in the decadent West do we see elections so stage-managed that voters don’t even realize they’re being conned to the bone.

Only in the West do we see typical citizens fervently believe in the false dichotomy presented each election cycle.

The “free” West is less free, in the mind, than the Totalitarian East.

How’s that for a paradox?

Two big differences between England and America is that Americans are very well armed and very spread out. While there are a lot of useless easily tamed sheeple there are still a large number of independently minded, angry and suspicious people in this country. It might only be 5 to 10%, but that may be all we need when the SHTF. We live in interesting times.

BostonBob,
Do you share my view that where this leads is secession?

I think eventually both the USA and the UK will break up into smaller polities. In the case of the USA, the allegiance to the center will evaporate and the mighty US military, trained in Jade Helm, et.al., will turn out to be a paper tiger as its members melt back to the places for which they hold deeper alliance.

I’m not sure I see this happening until as much as 80 years from now, after we’ve had a full meltdown of the current financial insanity, have a multi-decade Greater Depression followed by a multi-decade appearance of return to prosperity, and then have the 2nd hammer drop and revert back to Depression. It’s the 2nd decline in such progressions that sets off the worst social strife, and this time instead of a united nation-state going to war with another nation-state (the 20th century model), the 21st century model will be civil wars and wars of secession.

DC,
You often pose intriguing insights. I have taken to reading a number of end of the world type novels, about 10 to 12 in the last year. one very common theme is that power especially one centralized power is often its own undoing. There is and will always be a large number of easily influenced people that can be “Goebbeled”, but there is always an underlying faction that seems to survive this ultimate collapse. It is obvious that mankind cannot go on, as it is currently, forever. Unless there are some tremendous technological breakthroughs there are not enough resources to sustain this kind of population growth. My son firmly believes that technology will be the savior, I hope he’s right for him and my daughters sake. We will still need to purge many of the parasites from the system one way or another.

DC,
Sorry, I did not answer your question, but yes ultimately America will break up. I actually read a book on that very scenario. It was interesting, pitting states rights against the the federal government. Initially the state that tried to secede was crushed by the army/air force. How ever it happens it will be messy and painful for all those involved. It will not be a benevolent breakup.
Bob.

Buddy Bob, please share some of those book titles–I’ve read several of that genre myself (latest was “After the Crumble” by Devon Porter (it was so-so). Have you read “Holding the Own”? (I haven’t).

Please expand your comment on how to get rid of our overlords with technology. “Electric grid down”, renders them powerless (and their electronic currency)….is that what you mean? Down side is most everyone starves to death with prolonged loss of electricity.

I don’t see states seceding. There will be plenty of moaning and effort in that direction but there is a far simpler solution that will win the day. Reverting back to Constitutional law where States held the power will be far easier than secession. Once enough sentiment exists for secession, there will be enough sentiment to restore Constitutional law and implement realistic changes via amendments to the Constitution.

Like others said, we will go through a full on economic collapse, even greater depression and violent episodes first. I’m 48 and doubt that I’ll witness secession or restoration of the Constitution in my lifetime. Fifty to 75 years seems about right.
