He is a really great songwriter and guitar player, yet is very humble
when doing interviews or teaching. Now he mostly solos but has shared the stage with other stars like Emmylou Harris and James Taylor. He wrote “Sailing to Philadelphia” after reading about Mason and Dixon surveying the line, and his duet with James Taylor is pitch perfect musically and good history. He is one musician I would love to sit down with in a pub and share a pint or two.

Knopfler is an outstanding guitar player and very underrated. I’ve seen him play live about four times, twice from the front row and no one is smoother. Well worth the price of admission!
