Purging America’s Heroes

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

With that kumbayah moment at the Capitol in South Carolina, when the Battle Flag of the Confederacy was lowered forever to the cheers and tears of all, a purgation of the detestable relics of evil that permeate American public life began.

City leaders in Memphis plan to dig up the body of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest, who is buried in a city park that once bore his name. A statue of the great cavalrymen will be removed.

“Nathan Bedford Forrest is a symbol of bigotry and racism, and those symbols have no place on public property,” said council chairman Myron Lowery, “What we’re doing here in Memphis is no different from what’s happening across the country.” Myron’s got that right.

Panicky Democrats are terminating their tradition of Jefferson-Jackson Day dinners, as both presidents were slaveholders.

Other slaveholders include Presidents George Washington, James Madison, who authored the Constitution that equated slaves with 3/5ths of a person, James Monroe, of Monroe Doctrine fame, John Tyler, who annexed Texas, and James K. Polk, who tore off half of Mexico.

Jefferson, Jackson and Madison are also the names of the state capitals of Missouri, Mississippi and Wisconsin, and Washington is the capital of the United States. Is it not time to change the names of these cities to honor more women and minorities who better reflect our glorious new diversity?

Washington, Jefferson and Jackson are on the $1, $2 and $20 bills. Ought they not all be replaced?

In Baltimore and Annapolis, calls are heard for the removal of statues of Chief Justice Roger Taney of the Dred Scott decision. In Fairfax County, Virginia, J.E.B. Stuart High may be headed for a name change. Can George Washington and Washington-Lee, rivals of my old high school, be far behind?

But it is Statuary Hall, beneath the cupola of the U.S. Capitol, where each state is represented by statues of two of its greatest, that really requires a Memphis-style moral cleansing.

Mississippi is represented by Jefferson Davis and Georgia by Alexander Stephens, the president and vice president of the Confederacy; South Carolina by John C. Calhoun, who called slavery a “positive good,” and Confederate Gen. Wade Hampton.

Kentucky is represented by slave owner Henry Clay; Florida by Confederate Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith; North Carolina by Confederate colonel and Civil War governor Zebulon Vance; Texas by Stephen Austin and Sam Houston who seceded from Mexico to create a slave republic that joined the United States as a slave state in 1845.

Utah is represented by Brigham Young, founder of a Mormon faith that declared black people unfit to belong; Virginia by Robert E. Lee and Washington. California is represented by a statue of Fr. Junipero Serra, who established the missions that became the cities of California and converted and disciplined pagan Indians to Christianity.

Among the men revered by the generations that grew up in mid-20th-century America, five categories seem destined for execration:

Explorers like Columbus who conquered the indigenous peoples. Slave owners from 1619 to 1865. Statesmen, military leaders, and all associated with the Confederacy. All involved in the dispossession and ethnic cleansing of Native-Americans, like Gens. William Sherman and Phil Sheridan who said, “The only good Indian is a dead Indian,” and acted on that maxim.

Lastly, segregationists. There is a move afoot to take the name of Sen. Richard Russell of Georgia, an opponent of civil rights laws, off the Senate Office Building to which it has been affixed for 40 years.

As there are thousands of schools, streets, highways, buildings, towns and cities that bear the names of these old heroes and men like them, the purging is going to take decades. Yet, make no mistake, a Great Purge of American heroes of yesteryear is at hand.

What did all those named above, who would be Class-A war criminals at the Southern Poverty Law Center, have in common?

All were white males. All achieved greatly. All believed that the people whence they came were superior and possessed of a superior faith, Christianity, and hence fit to rule what Rudyard Kipling called the “lesser breeds without the Law.”

Acting on a belief in their racial, religious and cultural superiority, they created the greatest nation on earth. And people who got in their way were shoved aside, subjugated, repressed and ruled.

As for the Confederates of the Lost Cause, they yielded to superior force only after four years of fighting, but their battle flag has ever after been seen as a banner of rebellion, bravery and defiance.

And those tearing down the battle flags, and dumping over the monuments and statues, and sandblasting the names off buildings and schools, what have they ever accomplished?

They inherited the America these men built, but are ashamed at how it was built. And now they watch paralyzed as the peoples of the Third World, whom their grandfathers ruled, come to dispossess them of the patrimony for which they feel so guilty.

The new barbarians will make short work of them.

Some fuckstick in our government seriously suggested Kentucky remove our statue of Jeff Davis from the Capitol rotunda…

They had a ‘public comments’ period to weigh the issue… the blowback was tremendous.

They quietly decided “the statue stays”… it made HUGE headlines when it was first proposed – interviews, all sorts of shit.

When they decided it stays, I heard exactly one sentence mentioning the “decision” on LEX18 news, and that was it. They’re keeping their heads low… the natives are restless.

Goddamn right it stays, you fuckin’ NKVD goons.

Damn, and just when Pat was finally evolving into a political iconoclast. Looks like he is reverting back to his old form, like when he was a speechwriter for politically corrupt Spiro Agnew, the only Vice President to resign in disgrace. . Over 45 years ago, Pat Buchanan urged Nixon not to visit King’s widow Coretta Scott King, because:

“it would outrage many, many people who believe Dr. King was a fraud and a demagogue, and perhaps worse. … It does not seem to be in the interests of national unity for the president to lend his national prestige to the argument that this divisive figure is a modern saint.”

Pat had me fooled lately, but it looks like he’s one leopard who ain’t changing his spots.

Pat’s so far fetched here, that it’s surprising that he didn’t suggest that some pc liberal would demand that the name, Booker T. Washington, be changed to Booker T Boogaloo, or that all African Americans (and there are many of these), with the last names of Washington, Jefferson and Jackson, change their names to Waheeb, Jabbar, and Jamal. Please Pat, with this political amazingly entertaining reality show of a presidential contest, don’t tell me that you’ve run out of relevant things to write about. Especially since you were finally getting it right.

So, rich… you think what he’s writing about is not relevant?

Please, tell us why it’s not relevant. Because from my chair, what he’s saying is pretty fuckin’ relevant.

” …… don’t tell me that you’ve run out of relevant things to write about. ” —– rich

Buchanan’s article is extremely relevant.

“Any Nation that does not honor its heroes will not long endure.”
—- Abraham Lincoln (although some scholars dispute he said it)

“A Nation reveals itself not only by the the men it produces, but also by the men it honors, the men it remembers…”
—- JFK

ISIS scrubs the past of everything that reminds of it, why shouldn’t we?

They have a purpose in doing so, we have a purpose in doing so as well.

Many monkey people are ESFJ and they don’t care atall about usin SNAP benefits er having scads er babies with uh plethora of monkey men. They are often obese, and wear garish costumes ter walmart, where they stock up on grape soda and microwave fried chicken. They say the strangest things, like ‘why yew axin that?’ Or ‘hodown, I’mma bout to beat my chirren’.

So when the monkey people start takin down flags and diggin up Billy and Stucky’s dead heroes, and the Pat B writes about it, and yew say it ain’t relevant, yer axin fer a kick in the balls by these two big dogs. Just letting yer know.

Egalitarianism.. the source? ..for some on this board anyway…care to guess who?

However, according to the study, people who had watched an adult film at least once in the past year had more egalatarian ideas about women in positions of power than those who hadn’t.

The study concluded that watching pornography didn’t make viewers hold more hostile attitudes towards women.

This is a complete contradiction of radical feminist ideology.

You would think with changing demographics its enevitable. At least have more of a minority representation.

But then again how many Martin Luther King bulavards can you have. Or Susan B Anthony schools?

I would think the left would go the homo route. Unfortunately, Those with high IQ’s would almost assuredly be white males as well.

Liberals are Useful Idiots and sane society needs protection from them. As a kid I saw the slave market in St Augustine: posts and loops of iron to hold people. No nobody was regretting the end of slavery. Nobody was wanting to destroy the vestiges of that foul history. The South is not proud of slavery and those places serve to rub our nose in it. The Germans and Japanese hate the evil some did to others but there are no calls to bulldoze Auschwitz.

bob siddell – I disagree with you.

Those vestiges are a part of history; history should not be forgotten or rewritten. It is simply a Zeitgeist.

They are good visual reminders of the past. It is not rubbing our noses in it. Remember Eisenhower making the German citizens walk through the concentration camps – can’t get more visual than that.
That is known as a teaching point.

Nope, I don’t give a fuck about symbols or wedge issues. This country has been stolen from the middle class. Billah’s wife, you want to talk about SNAP benefits? JP Morgan has made over $5 billion administering that program, and ADM and Monsanto couldn’t live without the food price supports that program brings. Those are real benefits. There’s huge corporate profits to be made in the poverty business, and those profits are being paid for by what’s left of the middle class.

And you are right, I don’t give a fuck about race, either. It’s not that I’m not judgmental, I just judge each individual by the content of his/her character. I live in the south, and I have many friends that make Stucky and Billy look like members of the NAACP. After a few beers, nobody’s measuring their words, and the arguments get loud. So what. We remain friends, and we help each other out in these increasingly uncivilized times.

So enjoy your hatred and and your icons. Me, I’m just following the money. On Morning Joe, today, Scarborough was playing clips from Sanders’ and Trump’s latest speeches, pointing out how they seem to be saying the same thing, and how Americans are starting to listen. For a brief second, I almost started to thing that the kleptocrats may not be able to buy this Presidential election. But then I come to my senses, because I remember that the PTB have divided and conquered this country, and so folks will be fighting over race, religion and icons instead of following the money—and the money always wins.

And kokoda, whoever or whatever you are, go FUCK yourself. It will be the only piece of ass you’ll ever get.

This nonsense is the US equivalent of Mao’s Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, which ended badly for all concerned, but it was pleasant to see the purgers purged when wiser heads prevailed and put a stop to it. Let’s hope that happens in the US as well.

I agree with Buchanan. Here in Minneapolis they want to change the name of Lake Calhoun because John Calhoun of SC was very pro-slavery. Why just do the easy things – change a street or lake name? Let’s see the fucktards change the name of Washington State, every street named Washington or every Jefferson high school in the country first. On second thought, maybe I shouldn’t encourage them.

@flash…reading yesterday that Germany has closed its border with Austria and Austria has closed its border with Hungary. Crisis is unfolding.

In 30 years, all our monuments will be razed and all natural sites will be renamed – all to praise Allah.
Not tough to predict compared to Super Bowl teams.

Hollywood has been purging White heroes and White people in general for about 50 years now, as near as I reckon. They have set the stage for the libtard-progressive mindset of disparaging White people with every TV show, Movie and commercial they make.

To watch White men portrayed as bumbling, stupid fools on ads and sitcoms, or to watch movies that have White men as the evil villains, and colored people as heroes, genius’, compassionate, sexy, witty and oh so wise, is sickening to me. It’s no stretch to understand the hatred and mockery towards any White people who are honored in history, when the White people of today are considered the lowest of the low, unless they are queer, negro-lovin’, or are the dumb lackeys or BFF of some colored person.

In order to validate the image of todays White people as contemptible, the progressives have to discredit all the White people of the past. Hollywood has that down pat.

The current population has lost connection to their own history. ALL of our ancestors were not of one mind; working out how to deal with great opposition and internal dissension is one of society’s great challenges – and great functions. The people of the 1860’s did not agree on slavery, and fought a great war which was partially about it – and even more with whether the industrial North would demand that the agricultural South pay the majority of Federal taxes in the form of tariffs. Since the North could satisfy most of its own demands and imported less, having the South pay high tariffs on imports both shored up (supported) the Federal government balance sheet and protected Northern manufacturers from less expensive foreign machinery and other imports.

The Civil War is not taught this way – few books mention that the high tariffs on imports penalized the South more than the North. Instead, the power and control struggle that was the Civil War is taught as being almost totally about slavery – even though only a few, rich Southerners owned slaves (keeping them was expensive, relatively), Lincoln said if he could preserve the Union (power, control and tariff-financed government) without freeing a single slave he would do so, and so forth. However, at the end of the Civil War, Lee and his officers were treated as honorable enemies – allowed to keep their sidearms, left free after the war on their parole (word) not to fight any more, and so on. If Grant, who fought the war and lost hundreds of thousands of men doing so, and Lincoln, who accepted the terms of surrender at Appomattox, thought Lee and his generals were honorable men, who are today’s featherbrained officials to think and act otherwise?

I don’t have a real dog in this fight, since although being Southern my dad’s folks came over from Germany in the 1920’s and my mom’s folks were small-time crackers who owned no slaves (though some of my relatives fought). I do object to revising history to suit modern sensibilities when there are written documents and evidence that the surviving Northern leaders thought the surviving Southern leaders were honorable men, and deserved honorable memories.

The real problem is that the power and control problems that largely caused the Civil War were not settled by it; the Feds still think they should control everything and everyone, despite the Constitution. That they have largely gotten away with it is not evidence of peaceful acceptance, only that the majority are either not driven to rebellion (yet) or don’t understand how endless greed for power and control and money is unsustainable in the long run, and will lead to collapse. Either way, the future holds vast problems that the current Federal system does not address and cannot solve.

@jamesthewanderer . I’ve a suspicion , although not documented, that in part the War of Northern aggression was instigated by the jealous anglophilic Eastern establishment to put the up and coming Scots/Irish plantations owners in their place. Especially considering the Whigs supported industrial interests over agriculture. If anyone has a link to info concerning this hyposthesis , I’d be much obliged.

I doubt it was as ethnic specific as that. There has probably long been a cultural gulf and economic frictions between Yankees and Southerners but it got way out of bounds starting about 1850 over tariffs, abuses of Congressional power by the North and slavery. Too bad because slavery was a doomed economic and immoral system even most Southerners wanted gone but few wanted coloreds just turned loose on society. I think people feared many coloreds would demand equality, become scofflaws, band together and cause a race war. Lincoln wanted to pay slave owners and then ship coloreds back to Africa or sell them elsewhere. Abolitionist wanted their release ASAP and when Lincoln was sworn in 4Mar1861, the Confederacy was already two weeks old and we started the war 12Apr1861 to end onerous Northern tariffs on our cotton and everything we imported from England, etc; gain our freedom from the Northern Congress and to prevent the coloreds being freed. We badly miscalculated quite a few factors. I fear many Blacks today might make a similar hasty mistake. Given a couple more generations, Blacks and Whites will get along just fine.

I am gonna catch Hell for this. The percentage of self-identified European Americans (ie, Whites) who have one percent or more of African ancestry is 13% of the Whites in S. Carolina and Louisiana; those Whites have at least 1% Black genes (ie, of their 200,000 genes, about 200 genes came from Blacks). I calculated that among just the White population in S. Carolina, on average there are 26 Black genes on average per White person. Some White(s) have zero but their 26 Black genes get added to some other White’s total. On average, the scientists found, people who identified as African-Americans (Blacks) had genes that were only 73.2 percent African. European genes accounted for 24 percent of their DNA (48,000 genes), while .8 percent (1,600) came from Native Americans. Comment: Whites toss out the pejorative Porch Monkey name just like Blacks toss their favorite names at Whites (and sometimes fists, rocks, and a cup of piss from my own personal experiences). Homo Sapiens evolved about 200,000 years ago in Africa and Whites and Asians evidently evolved from Blacks shortly afterwards. Blacks only integrated with Whites 50 years ago and if we can get along just a couple more generations (50 years), we will grow out of this nonsense and stop insulting each other and make love not war.
