I think the bird is bluffing but a video of how this played out would certainly tell the tale.

Actually, I was referring to the posted photo and not your intriguing image, which came up while I was typing, or am I missing something? You have an interesting version of the more innocuous carpenters’ saying ” measure twice, cut once”.
