That map is bullshit. Just take a look at New York – $1.5 trillion?

I don’t know what kind of metric was used but the slime bankers / brokers / hedge fund managers / HFT’s / investment bankers don’t make an economy, and they sure as hell don’t produce anything.

Shit is fucked up and bullshit. As already noted above. This is mostly a map of which cronies get access to fiat-created money first.

A pet peeve of mine is the label GDP. Most people think it a measure of productivity, it is not. It is more accurately a measure of economic activity. Actual production is only a part of economic activity. Consumption which isn’t ‘productivity’ is included in GDP. Any financial transaction is included in GDP. So if you look at that graph and understand that GDP isn’t actual production, and includes financial activity, it makes sense that New York (Wall Street) has the highest activity.

Understand this, all the people on welfare and on EBT who produce nothing, all their consumption is counted in GDP. Their purchases are economic activity not production.

Don’t think of GDP as a measure of production.

Has anyone else reading here realized that government expenditures factor prominently in all estimations of “gross domestic product”?

In other words, a fundamentally parasitic sector of civil society, which can be said to produce hardly ANYTHING in the way of entrepreneurially creative worth (and is, indeed, a debilitating deadweight upon the productive sector of the economy) is reckoned contributory to GDP.

Torture the numbers (or simply conjure them out of thin air), and even a clumsy con artist can put across anything, no matter how preposterously contrafactual.

Newark and Jersey City…….two excellent places to test Neutron bombs…repeatedly. In the People’s Glorious Revolutionary State of New Jersey one is hard pressed to name any city in the north that wouldn’t be a good place to test Neutron bombs. But Jersey City is the worst of the worst.

If the world ever needed a suppository, it would be jammed up Jersey City.

“But Jersey City is the worst of the worst.” ———— Lysander

You couldn’t be more wrong. We have our home listed for sale via a realtor in Hoboken (literally where Jersey City ends, Hoboken begins — http://www.libertyrealestate.com/listings.php ). Jersey City is BOOMING, especially along the river. Most of our showings are from folks in the Jersey City area — cuz they think $465k for a 3 bedroom house is dirt fucken’ cheap …. when 1 bedroom condo is selling for $700k, and up.

You wanna a SHIT city in Joisy to neutron bomb? Try Camden.

@ Stucky..I was recalling from my experience there over 20 years ago. I assumed that it got worse, as things usually do. So I stand corrected.

But the Boom is all in real estate, right? The local government must have done something with the friggen gangs then. What happen? Did they send in Chuck Norris and Rambo to wipe them all out?

And yeah, Camden is a real beauty. Maybe Neutron and Napalm for that place.
