Yes, that must be it. Why would you schedule a Trident ballistic missile test flight where it would pose no danger to the population, say White Sands or Kwajalein when you can test that baby out over one of the most heavily populated urban areas in the continental US? Nothing could go wrong, right?

According to AccuWeather, the Taurid meteor shower was set to peak into next week. An earlier NASA statement suggested that we could expect fireballs in the night sky across the United States.
Though the military claims the object was part of a Naval missile test, it’s not the first time an unidentified flying object of this nature has been spotted.
In 2010 witnesses reported a similar sight over West Coast waters. Some reports suggest the incident may have been the result of a Chinese ballistic missile test launched from a secret nuclear submarine parked off the coast of California.
The Chinese aren’t the only ones making incursions into or near U.S. territorial borders. Russia has reportedly flown nuclear bombers and performed exercises all along the west coast. In May 2014, the Los Angeles air traffic control system was taken out of operation, leaving thousands of flights along the West Coast scrambling. The military claims a U-2 spyplane flying over head was to blame for jamming the signals, but other theories suggest Russia may have deployed a new scrambling or localized-EMP technology.
In 2009 videos of a spiral spotted over Norway went viral with analysts making theories about the incident that included a Russian missile test gone bad or a massive hologram from the government’s Project Blue Beam initiative.
The Navy is lying. Nobody in the government is that forthcoming about anything. It was obviously little green men in a spaceship recently developed in the water found on Mars.

How would you fire a missile from a submarine in an underwater launch test in White Sands?
I’m no expert on missile firing submarines, but I don’t think they operate well in deserts.
Long ago and far away, I flew on an AWACS plane that was sent to the Northernmost shores of Alaska to track a similar missile test flight down the coastline to splash into the ocean close to L.A. I thought the same thing then… that it was seemed to be launched from the wrong point headed in the wrong direction. But, hey… I was just a radar tech on a surveillance plane. What did I know?

The missile was test fired out over the ocean in a known Naval proving ground. It did not overfly SoCal. This is why air traffic was re-routed. If the guidance or propulsion systems failed, a destruct sequence would would have halted the test. The Trident II is a stable and reliable launch platform.
Not sure where I read this first , probably zerohedge, One of the comments was that of the 14 nuclear armed nations in the world , ALL 14 have conducted tests in the last week !

@Admin: Thanks for your comment at 2:14. That missile launch 5 years ago today was debunked by the Pentagram and the whole affair forgotten by most. I think they were just too embarrassed in D.C. to admit another country could get that close to the coast; supposedly it was near Catalina, which is 26 miles off the coast.

Seems odd to me that we have all this nuclear tests and saber rattling going on at the same time. U.S. is pissing in Russia and China’s Cheerio’s. Head of Russia media is found dead in D.C of a heart attack. Manpads being given to terrorists/rebels in Syria. Dogfighting aircraft being sent to Turkey when Syria has a piss poor air force. Yes folks IMHO I think a massive game of fuck fuck is going on here and we are being kept in the dark about all of it. Defense Secretary Carter may have let the cat out of the bag when he said Russia might use a nuclear weapon against us. How else are they going to get the milennials pissed off enough to fight a war for them? @ Bea Level…I remember that well. It was so fake it looked like an early SNL comedy sketch. They had a fake palm tree on the set and both actors had some army helmets that looked goofy as hell on them. There even was the fake air raid siren blaring in the background.
As far as this ‘test’ is concerned, it’s most likely ‘Murika! showing off some new missile with an new improved propulsion system on it. Some kind of saber rattling, or a direct threat….who knows.
I never was one to lose sleep over a global nuclear war ever happening. But TPTB are very capable of nuking one or two of our own cities to kick off a conflict with someone, maybe with Iran, so they can invade with UN approval and there’s little the Russkis can say about it. Kinda like the 9-11 false flag when everyone was on ‘our’ side….for a while.
Or maybe there’s meteors incoming that they are zapping which are the precursor to an even bigger swarm coming at us later. Who knows.
According to what I read on da innerwebz, this test is part of a series following upgrades that allow them to extend the service life of existing nuclear submarines to 2040. (You know, kicking the can down the road a little further.) Due to these upgrades to the subs, the missiles must also be tested to ensure reliability.
