Hm. Now I understand the reason why I’ve been repeatedly advised NOT to get on Twitter.

This kind of opportunity would’ve been too much temptation.

I’m 75% glad my 20 yr old daughter hasn’t gone to college (yet). It will give her time to grow up before she dives into debt.

Right after high school we started charging her rent. She refused so we kicked her out. She’s back now and gladly paying rent. The sweet thing is, she doesn’t even know she will be getting ALL that rent back the day she leaves .

I remember the days when young adults (they weren’t still children then) went to college to actually pursue educational goals for professional and educational purposes.

Those things seem to have passed and I don’t see any real purpose in their current reasons for attendance other than occupying time and hiding from reality.

I guess I’m getting old, really old.

I talked to my daughter last night during the debate. She was taking a break from her chemistry homework. She is working toward a biology degree with a minor in Chinese, she is on a premed track. She has gotten a position as an RA and we pay the rest of the cost. When she finishes her bachelors degree she will have less than $10,000 in student debt, as did her brother. My wife and I forgo any extras, we bought our first “new” car, a used 2 year old CRV, in 11 years. I side-walled and replaced the trim on my house rather than pay someone. My wife works three jobs. These are small sacrifices we make so as not to in-debt our children for life.

I’m quite proud of my children, they have made good life decisions, and I can only hope they will continue to. I really think a lot of these issues are directly family related and the decisions made as a family. As I spoke to my daughter I realize what a mature young women she has become. She has witnessed the bad decisions that many students make and realizes how these decisions can have lifelong consequences. I have been truly blessed, my wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary last week and our children see how hard we have to work at it to make it succeed. They understand that life gives you what you put into it.

Bob.

Admin,
Congratulations, we have been very fortunate and blessed in our lives to have women who can live with our idiosyncrasies, work hard, help raise wonderful kids and still find the time and energy to love us. I truly believe this makes an enormous difference in how our children grow up. Life is way to short not to appreciate all of this.
Bob.

Just join the Navy.

Don’t they pay off all your student debt if you sign up for six years? Whoops, just checked, not any more……ended in July of this year.

My son runs a internet based company, every one of his 30+ employees has a bullshit liberal arts degree; poetry, photography, urban planning, etc and each one carries $40-90k in student loan debt, each one is a democrat voter, most live with mom.

I’ve never seen such a collection of long haired, tattoo covered, computer geek fatass’s before (as I don’t visit coffee houses) they know how to do their jobs though and seem happy with $13 an hour as they bide their time waiting for hilary or bernie to save the day.

At Walmart they use the english majors in women’s clothing, the gender studies majors in housewares, the philosophy majors in electronics, the art history majors in the craft section, the travel and tourism majors in sporting goods, the ancient greek majors in automotive and the sociology majors as assistant mangers.

Managers are almost always religion majors. Sometimes film history majors work out fine.

The door greeter is usually a retired retail sales professional.

Just a reinforcement of my unwillingness to hire anyone with a worthless degree, and, on a rolling timeline, anyone who attended various universities that have been shown to be cultural-marxist indoctrination centers.

High school students: choose your college wisely.

Three boos for the Mozzorons and their saggy hangers and brains! All ya’ll’s degrees just lost 1,000 points in the Job Market, hahaha! Enjoy a life eating chicken necks and tails you commie wankers. Hay, if you don’t like your part time jobs, just organize a strike and fire your bosses!
