I think that cop at the end has it right but it’s surprising to hear it from a New Yawk cop. Hire John wayne and you get cops that act like John Wayne. No shit!
We’ve discussed this here a number of times. Cops don’t hire high IQ type people to be cops. They hire the neanderthal types. I’m not sure the “govt” is necessarily militarizing the cops strictly to militarize them. They hire low IQ roided up bullies and then consider them experts when they tell DC what the cops need to do their jobs. Cops are militarized because cops want to be militarized. I doubt it would be this way with the higher IQ variety.

All the ones I’ve known have had college degrees in substantive fields of law and law enforcement and all the departments I’m familiar with require them.
Not that that means much, but it would rule out the IQ 85 types that seem to fit in with most of the minority street criminals.

The wife’s getting fed up with her job. We’re about ready to say “Fuck all y’all!”, build the shop and both of us will work it. You can take a thumbtack and a string that’s 100 miles to scale and draw a circle around the house. That’s our customer base.
…where “r” is 100 miles, that gives us 3.12 x 100 x 100 = 31,400 square miles. I think we’ll do okay, if we can get through the enormous piles of paperwork… I give us a year to get the shop built, fill it with the right machinery and parts and then hang out a shingle….
