Muck’s Morning Rant 12/7/15

I don’t know how many of our fellow TBPers watched our so-called President’s address last night but in my humble opinion it was a pap filled, hot air cooked and one of the least effective and worthless speeches I’ve ever heard.

Apparently my local newspaper thinks the same as the headline this morning was “Obama: ‘new phase’ for terror.”

The line below that asserts (correctly) that “No significant shift in U.S. strategy”.

The sum total of the speech contained absolutely nothing of value to either suggest a new approach to the problem or to reassure Americans of anything being worked on that would even offer a different line of thinking about so called “lone wolf” terrorism.

The reason the speech was so much diluted bullshit is because of the following:  FACT:  There is absolutely no way to prevent an attack by a radical religious nut (or any other nut, for that matter) if said nut is willing to die in the process.  NO WAY TO STOP IT! PERIOD.

Now this type of terrorist attack is the one most favored by any terrorist group which encourages radicalism but does not specifically direct it.  The IS may “sponsor” the operative with money, guns, explosives or whatnot and please pardon the expression: They get more “BANG” for the buck that way, risk fewer people of their own and the “out of the blue” attacks on innocent people is guaranteed to make a large percentage of sheeple nervous, unhappy and worried about their own safety — even though the odds of anyone being the object of a terror attack in this country is as close to nil as it can be.

With our instant wired in, hooked up, blanket communications these days, use of the social media and news sites, tweets and posts just guarantee that bad news is instantly available for consumption nationwide.

We’d be better off with pony express because that would take time to spread the bad news which would allow for more thought and introspection rather than knew-jerk reactions to every bump and bang that comes along.

Terrorism has only one purpose.

It is to frighten a sufficient number of sheeple so they demand safety at any cost – including their freedom even if that loss of freedom includes their own ability to defend themselves against the very acts that cannot be stopped by any one except the targeted victim.

The reason Obummer did not suggest any changes in our stance against terrorism is that there is NOTHING that can be done about it other than raise the awareness of the sheeple that they better be prepared to defend themselves because both our militarized police and the military itself will only be Second Responders which are very good at cleaning up messes but not so good at preventing them in the first place.

Jerry Falwell, Jr. of Liberty University (for which I hold only small respect) called a campus wide meeting  yesterday and urged all students and faculty to obtain permits to carry and carry arms on campus with them to prevent another “copy cat” or lone wolf terrorist attack or at a minimum – stop one in short order. Of course Hellery accused him immediately of aiding ISIS – though exactly how was not clear and I never stood a chance of understanding.

Also, today one might take a few minutes off from fretting about Islamic idiots and consider the 2,500+ men and women who died at Pearl Harbor some 74 years ago today. That was a pretty highly organized terrorist attack as well but on a mighty huge scale.

Now I feel better after a 5AM rant.  Maybe more after a cuppa..
