bb,

What can I say – I never liked Rush.

And who the hell is Anne Murray? 🙂

EC,

Wow – that brings back some childhood memories. My parents used to listen to A.M. a lot. She was on the TV constantly (we only had two channels). It was the 70’s/80’s and it was Canada…. still don’t like her though. Reminds me of Pilsner in snubby beer bottles, Rothmans cigarettes, mustaches, bad hair cuts, questionable fashion and ugly living room decor.

FM- I rarely chime in on music as I like mostly classical and Irish folk varieties but Neil Young has a certain train wreck sound that appeals to me and I do listen to some of his tunes. The one good thing I can say about Canada is that it is very clean or at least in the areas I have visited, the music is fair IMO.

Bea,

Having grown up with the stuff I’ve come to view it this way – some is really good and some is really bad – without much in between. In the past too much state ownership of the various media here contributed to a lot of crappy production. The good stuff was the stuff that eventually ended up in the US based on its own merit. The Guess Who for example.

My wife just took my 11 yo daughter to see BNL in Vancouver. It was sort of a coming of age thing from her perspective. I took the Mrs. to see them on one of our first dates up top of Whistler Mountain. Nice setting for a concert…

One more. I’m kind of going thru a playlist. I figured I’d post some stuff the R.O.W likely hasn’t heard.

I might post some more. Watching hockey game and having a drink.
