Great video. Walter White vs. Heisenberg. I’m not sure if any other TV show ever better displayed the tragedy and comedy within the duality of human nature.

I love The Who, but being the post-modern, post-hippie freak that I am, and, in an effort to reach out to the Millennials who may be viewing on this today, I also enjoy this version:

Badfinger’s Baby Blue is a great song on its own merit, with or without Breaking Bad, but being in Breaking Bad gave it a huge comeback boost and great identity among the younger generation. An excellent band that was the first group that the Beatles signed to record on the Apple label. Lead singer and guitarist Pete Ham wrote the song for an old flame by the name of Dixie Armstrong. They had 4 or 5 big hits but eventually Ham committed suicide as did fellow guitarist and Badfinger member Tom Evans. C’est dommage.

Excellent show, excellent writing, excellent cast, tremendous final episode. Can’t be duplicated.
However, AMC also does The Walking Dead.
Which series is better?

Yeah. Regarding TV series – definitely Tony Soprano for sure. No doubt. Also, maybe Rick from the Walking Dead & Nucky Thompson on Boardwalk Empire. All portray their dual natures in great detail. There are more. Too many to mention, but Walter White’s portrayal on Breaking Bad was as epic as any. IMO.

Regardless of anyone’s personal opinion on Ann Coulter, I found her 2013 essay at the below link to be interesting:
Greatest show in TV history! I don’t agree with Ann Coulter’s viewpoint in the article. Hank can certainly be viewed as the “good” guy, but I don’t see it that way. He is just as prideful as Walt, plus he is also producing his own drug just like Walt. Remember his home brewery?

Lets see, would I like to watch an episode of breaking bad or watch Ann Coulter on cable TV? Breaking bad of course. Would I like to stick my weiner in a meat grinder or watch Ann Coulter on cable TV?
That’s a tough one!

Good points by both James & HalfPint above. Interesting.
Rise – Which AMC series is better Breaking Bad vs. Walking Dead? That’s a tough one. Both are excellent. Perhaps it’s like comparing apples to oranges? The former depicts present times, wheras the ladder is more allegorical to our future? Therefore, maybe we shouldn’t try to compare?

The greatest television series hands down. Ann Coulter as Mary Magdalene giving us a lesson in religion Bwahhh!
The main theme that I came away from the series with was about a good person doing a bad thing for good reasons, the classic “ends justify the means” meme that permeates Corporate America, government and many of us, ends in the destruction of Walter’s soul. . It perfectly contrasted with Pinkman’s change from a bad soicopathic youngster into a decent human that is able to overcome evil because of the love for his girlfriend and how it transformed him.
There were many other themes running throughout the show. The amazing things was how all of these different themes were woven in and out harmoniously throughout the story like the different interweaving strings of musical melodies in a Beethoven’s 5th or 9th. It was a Beethoven symphony with the most beautiful ending that absolutely brought everything perfectly together for the soul stirring ending crescendo. The ending was simply perfect down to the song played at the end. There was not a loose string left to this story that wasn’t tied perfectly in the end.
A true piece of art. Amazing!

SPOILER ALERT: Walter White let’s his protege’s (Jesse’s) girlfriend overdose in order to protect Jesse. Then he unknownly, has a drink with the girlfriend’s father at a local bar who just so happens to be an air traffic controller. Later, in his grief, the father/air traffic controller causes 2 planes to crash overhead above Walter White’s home. The audience knows that Walter’s actions caused it all…

That was profound. Everyone’s actions (big or small) have subsequential consequences no matter what we choose. For good or for bad. Good show. No doubt…

The perfect blend of character development, story arc, setting and the cosmic balance. And the casting was superlative.
