Stucky Q.O.T.D. —– Books

“The only two books you need to read are “Confessions Of An Economic Hitman ” and Smedley Butler’s book ” War Is A Racket ” to understand why ” Countries hate us ” .”

——– BUCKHED in the “Evil Empires” thread

Agreed! Specifically,  “Confessions of an Economic Hitman” was one of the most eye-opening books concerning how-the-world-works that I have ever read.

I love to read, as do most others here.  I’m always looking for something really new, really interesting, really awesome. Something jaw-dropping.  A “wow!!” moment. And a woody would be nice, also.

Question:  Which books have you actually read which fit the bill above?

Note: Let’s try to keep it to three, or less. Also, let’s leave out the Bible (I’ve already read it multiple times cover-to-cover).

Author: Stucky

I'm right, you're wrong. Deal with it.

What Orwell feared was the banning of books. What Huxley feared was there would be no reason to ban books cause no one would want to read them. Sorry Stuckman, I can’t keep it 2 three. I love books, I love to read, I married a librarian for crying out loud.

The Decline of the West by Oswald Spengler

Revolt Against the Modern World by Julius Evola

Imperium by Francis Parker Yockey

All three analyze the phenomenon of Western Civilization; it’s creation and flowering as well as it’s terminal decline. Each work has been heavily censored and or reviled by establishment academia giving my the imprimatur I always seek. Semi-heavy, but each one so chock full of “I’VE KNOWN THAT MY ENTIRE LIFE BUT NO ONE HAS EVER PUT IT IN WORDS BEFORE” passages they are must reads for anyone who claims to be literate.

I read the book “Sperm Wars” a few years ago, as I was a young man still struggling with the traditional relationship paradigm and wondering why I kept feeling like a chump.

Among many things, it explains, from an evolutionary perspective, why women continue to bang cretins, criminals, bikers, gangsters, felons, druggies, et. al, sometimes when they have a perfectly provider husband or boyfriend at home. It explains why 90% of sperm is meant to fight off other sperm, not to seek out the precious egg, and how women’s brains can justify any sexual behavior even when their conscious mind is at a loss as to why. It explains why so many men are naive dupes who are bankrupting themselves through divorce.

This has always been the case, but with the rise of no fault feminism and the unleashing of male female society norms through technological shortcuts, the information in the book grows in importance each year. Especially for younger men who are dealing with a completely amoral generation of women.

Confessions and the 4th turning.

After confessions, I spent – no shit – a whole week in a mental fog like I’ve never experienced. It’s one thing to dump your normalcy bias but another altogether to bite down on a bottle of red pills at the same time. Then the 4th, which I only read because Jim’s writings and words struck a cord with me, and I had to learn more about what he kept referring to, put my macro picture back together in the right order.

HOW TO THINK and NOT BECOME A PROPAGANDA VICTIM:
Read B. H. Liddell Hart’s “Why Don’t We Learn From History.” It’s 125 pages and 99 cents from Kindle.
Read Dorothy Sayers “The Lost Tools of Learning.” It’s short and trenchant. Type in the title on your search line to read the article for free.online

UNDERSTAND BASIC POLITICAL PHILOSOPHIES:
Read Tom Mullen’s “Where Do Conservatives and Liberals Come From.” The book’s 185 pages, focused, and readable. It’s a most understandable analysis and comparison of conservatism, liberalism, and the American Creed. It’s $3.99 from Kindle.

HEALTH:
Read Luigi Cornaro’s “Discourses on the Sober Life: How to Live to Be 100.” It’s short and you can read it for free at The Online Books page.
Read “Traditional Foods Are Your Best Medicine” for what to eat. It’s a penny plus postage from Amazon.
Read “Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks But People Do,” which is a penny plus postage from Amazon.

For me, all of the above have been, at some time in my life, eye opening, awesome, and most helpful.

Recently finished “The Age of Deception” (subtitle “Decoding the Truths About the U.S Economy) by James Dale Davidson. Very current (2015) and he blasts Obama and the false climate change narrative throughout the book. Highly recommend this book!

Currently reading “Collapse” by Jared Diamond (author of “Guns, Germs, and Steel”), and “Endgame” by John Mauldin.

Also ordering “One Year After”–the sequel to “One Second After” soon (and yes, Admin, I’ve been using your Amazon link for several purchases lately).

So many books. So many genres. So many authors.

Anyway, here are three “out of the mainstream” choices that are all “page turners”, beautifully written, with deep and fascinating perspectives on the human condition regarding actual events from history. Since I tend to lean a little more “literary” than some, these all blew my hair back. But, they may not be to everyone’s taste?

The first two would be classified as extensively researched, award winning historical fiction.

The third is an a non-fictional 1817 memoir by a ship captain who was taken prisoner by “African Mohammedans” after a shipwreck in 1815 and WAS formally required reading in the U.S. military academies.

Here they are with links through TBP’s Amazon button:

1.) “Blood Meridian or the Evening Redness in the West” by Cormac McCarthy. (this link is to the 25th Anniversary Edition because the “forward” is very interesting and illuminating to the book):

2.) “Loving Frank” by Nancy Horan:

3.) “Sufferings in Africa” by James Riley:

@ Olga – “Family of Secrets” Russ Baker. I second that. Definitely a must read.

In understanding how we got here and where we’re going Tragedy and Hope by Carrol Quigley is must read as well.

Lately my reading habits have gotten a lot more eclectic. I haven’t read anything that would be considered earth shattering although I’ve enjoyed most of it.

The last four books I’ve read:

“Assholes *A Theory” – Aaron James (Meh…)
“Meditations” – Marcus Aurellius
“Discourses and Selected Writing” – Epictetus
“The French Revolution” – Christopher Hibert (well written book BTW)

and currently reading

“The Grand Design” by Stephen Hawking

Like I said – eclectic.

None of them are earth shattering in any sense but I can only read so much about how great the west once was and why/how it’s going to shit. Besides – with regard to the latter we appear to be living it – all I need to do to experience this is get up each morning…

With regards to “Assholes *A Theory” – I could have skipped that as I get my fill here each day. 🙂

Two more must reads

Churchill, Hitler, and “The Unnecessary War”: How Britain Lost Its Empire and the West Lost the World Pat Buchanan

And Jerry Pournelle’s There Will be War series while interspersed with Fiction has some really eye opening accounts of how national defense has been mismanaged by incompetent boy wonders and what to do about it.

@Flash Tragedy & Hope was one of the first books I bought and read after the 2008 financial crisis.

I have made my leftist, liberal 55-65 year old ladies book club [together now over 20+ years] read both “Family of Secrets” and “Creature From Jekyll Island” and I am looking for another “educational” selection for this summer.

Does anyone have some suggestions for a group of left-leaning, highly educated and mildly awake women – and they are far more awake than most just for me being in the group.

“Secrets” went over much better than “Jekyll” – and I saw where someone [Westcoaster?] suggested “Classified Woman” by Sibel Edmonds and I have been meaning to get that.

FYI Admin – I also find the Amazon link generally broken or missing. For me it is broken right now. I suspect it’s an OS or browser compatibility issue – I use Foxfire at home.

Whoever said ‘the human race didn’t come with an instruction manual’ did not read The Urantia Book.

The story began with a startling revelation in the early part of the last century… then years of back and forth and finally permission was granted to publish in 1955. Once you become familiar with it you’ll never look at anything the same way again.

It will require effort on your part, and perseverance but you’ll finally know what it’s all about.
