Cognitive dissonance is when a person’s impulsive (emotional) mind, embracing a belief, yields actions that the Rational mind, tasked with rationalizing, can’t….but the rational mind shrugs its metaphorical shoulders and says, “WTF.”
A nasty, brutish person with an alcohol problem rationalizes the harms that follow his or her drinking by a vague belief that drinking induces happiness….even though every experience is otherwise. Rationalization is a requirement of continuously pursuing actions that regularly produce harm.
Leftism is a cult that starts with irrational beliefs, but that doesn’t matter. Belief comes first, then action, then rationalization (almost simultaneous with action.) The impulsive mind learns nothing for experience or history.
This is why it is mankind’s fate to repeat the same cyclical failures over and over again. This is why it is quite clear that people learn nothing from history.
This is also why it’s a waste of time to argue with people. They truly don’t care what you have to say.
Addicts cure themselves. Slaves free themselves. Those addicted to slavery have to overcome two very difficult pyramids of rationalization…
Very few succeed.

Instead of 3rd grade level bashing of Liberals perhaps the Conservative side would be better served by asking your leadership why, after majorities in both sides of Congress, we have a debt exceeding $19 Trillion dollars? Sure as hell isn’t much to brag about!

Westcoaster, I no longer consider McConnell, Ryan or any of the others in “leadership” as Conservatives. How can I, given what you just wrote? But I haven’t for a couple of years now, since say … the second Congress that John Boehner was majority leader and these endless spending orgies went on.
I hope everyone is taking notes – Westcoaster actually said something I basically agree with, except for considering RINOs to be conservatives!

To be ridiculed but also accused of white privilege even if youre homeless. They tell us we vote against our own interest for wanting work instead of welfare and dont get that their social engineering festroys families and societies thats not in our interest. The craziest of all is how the more disadvantaged you claim to be the bigger the advantage it actually gives you.
