Diabetes is the world’s eighth biggest killer, accounting for some 1.5 million deaths each year. A major new World Health Organization report has now revealed that the number of cases around the world has nearly quadrupled to 422 million in 2014 from 108 million in 1980. The Eastern-Mediterranean region had the biggest increase in cases during that time frame. Diabetes now affects one in 11 adults with high blood sugar levels linked to 3.8 million deaths every year.

Another one of TPTB memes to try to get the people into the “health care” racket and sell them drugs that will give them cancer, etc. They’ve changed the criteria so that many more people are classified as diabetic now than in 1980. They don’t tell these so called diabetics (and “pre-diabetics”) that the answer for most of them is diet and exercise. Cut out or at least cut down on refined sugars and refined carbohydrates and increase animal proteins and fats from organic and/or grass fed animals.

HFCS came into industrial production in the 1970’s and widespread worldwide use in the 1980’s.

IIRC, both Coke and Pepsi along with lesser brands made the shift from sugar and sugar/corn syrup (the old kind, not HFCS) in the 1980’s.

Today it is in almost everything and worldwide as well.

It would be interesting to see the per capita diabetes rate by year compared to the amount of per capita HFCS use by year in all those countries on that map.

I suspect there may be a correlation but I don’t know where to look for the data.

I live in a remote area of the state, a few times a year I get to one of our bigger cities that have a Walmart.

It is like entering the land of the giant people when I go into Walmart, these huge people, I wonder how they can even properly shower or even perform other basic human tasks.

Lots of factors for obesity epidemic , sedentary lifestyle, eating habits, but it comes down to a lack of personal discipline .

Discipline is a trait most have lost in our society and few think about.

“I have to reduce” was once the mantra. A girdle prevented
flab showing/jiggling. That was 10# “overweight”…
now people are 100# overweight.

My wife says there is an abundance of small size dresses on the racks, the larger sizes are either not stocked or they fly off the racks. I do not see the big chicks walking around naked.

I see the weather is so nice now, it looks like San Diego here in the AV. Chubby dudes donned shorts and running shoes to feel fit and healthy.

The calla lilies are out now. It’ll be a while for the cannas.

You mean we’re not world leaders here? ‘Muricans need to get their act together here. We can own this one!

Seriously though, with the way the MSM talks about it I really thought we owned this one.

High Fructose Corn Syrup HFCS, and fast carbs are to blame for much of the obesity and diabetes in the U.S. Karl Denninger has been very outspoken on this topic and his comments are spot-on.

Seems to me the Fedgov and major food producers are in league to create a constant stream of new patients for the private healthcare industry, since the Fedgov pushes carbs in the so-called “food pyramid” and the fact HFCS is an ingredient in almost EVERYTHING!

The shitty food, high carb low fat diets etc are to blame.
Dont worry, all the problems can be “fixed” with perpetual medication developed by Merck, Pfizer and the rest of Big Pharma…

All for your own good.
Hillary took $225,000.00 for a 20 min speech in front of Novo-Nordisk in Mexico city recently. All part of the plan with Oprah.
