A strategy employed in Chicago. I was just there from June 20th through July first.
My friends and I were returning from the great bar called Reggies Rock Club located near the corner of East Cermack and State street. It’s a three level establishment with the bottom floor a dedicated bar/restaurant and stage which hosts bands of all flavors daily. The second floor is the vinyl room. All of the classics. The third floor is the rooftop bar that has a basketball hoop and a pool table with felt that appears to have been the platform for several porn movies and tilts slightly Northward.
Anyway. As we were leaving this slice of rock n roll heaven heading for the Hyatt at the McCormick Place heading East on Cermack, a hoopdy with 24″ rims stops along the curb and disgorged a local porch monkey. It walked around the rear of it’s vehicle, unveiled it’s schlong and began to piss on the sidewalk. It had not a care in the fucking world as it knew it would not be punished for it’s little act of indiscretion. Illinois, in it’s infinite wisdom, does not recognize out of state weapons permits. We were sitting ducks as mongoloids like this don’t obey the laws.
Fuck Illinois. Let it burn.

I doubt that would apply in all neighborhoods.
The FSA neighborhoods would be finished in a few days. A great many of the others will police their own neighborhoods. I’ve seen the latter happen in my own city three times.

Some of you may be aware of this site http://heyjackass.com/home/ which covers crime stats for the Chicago area.
His stats show a 19.2 percent clearance rate for homicides. 80.8 percent go without an arrest or unsolved. The cops are either completely overwhelmed or they just don’t give a shit.
Here’s a murder that occurred in the Hyatt’s seating area which I have walked through hundreds of times.
A group of fine upstanding African-Americans enjoying a little party when an altercation over a breeder ensued. The dead guy was trying to de-escalate the situation and was promptly rewarded with a lead vitamin. It is interesting to note that the Hyatt proudly displays the no guns stickers on each of it’s doors.
As an aside. I went outside one morning to burn a lung as I am won’t to do and lo and behold there were six patrol cars including one k-9 unit and several black SUVs. Not the Uber type, the G-man type. Come to find out Hitlery was there to deliver a speech at one of the events.
The only time I’ve seen a cop in that area in years.

In my neighborhood, there might be a man with a horse drawn cart shouting out in the early morning hours exclaiming: “Bring out your dead”.
The dead would have died mysteriously from lead poisoning.

In typical suburbs, even mediocre ones, the disappearance of police would have little effect on life expectancy.
In my area, the disappearance of police would be largely unnoticed. The only difference would be that road speeds would be “free choice” and the tiny number of violent criminals would get the 3-S treatment rather than jail. But it would be insignificant in daily life.

Since you mentioned it, I would add that in neighborhoods where the residents possess a strong moral fortitude with close connections could survive easily except that the cancer from the ghettos will spread and would make a descent life all but impossible.
My hope is that when TSHTF the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) light rail and bus systems shuts down immediately so the southern residents can’t easily get up our way.

What a load of crap. The police don’t do shit about real crime. In every case in my life when they COULD have been of some use, they refused, I guess I wasn’t rich enough to be worth the effort. Around here they spend all of their time riding around in cars looking for excuses to rob people… er… enforcing traffic laws… they are nothing but useless thugs. I would welcome them being disbanded entirely. I can take care of myself and my family better without their incompetent interference.

Cops stopped patrolling neighborhoods in our area some time ago. If you called for a patrol car it would be 45 minutes before they would show up.
What do you think we would get in a riot situation? Not a damn thing. Better be able to handle this on your own as a neighborhood or group.
I can get a pizza delivered in less time than that.
Actually the RCMP will admit to me that the fastest way to get a response is to call and tell them you are about to pop a cap in the ass of an intruder who is in your house. They don’t like to see criminals getting shot here. If it caught on there might be less crime… Or at least fewer criminals… Or both…

Bea – make an officer down call and they will come in a large swarm instantly.
That would be filing a false police report, and could be construed as a felony. Better to call the fire department and tell them there’s a fire with injuries and small explosions. The cops monitor those calls too and will come arunnin’.
Instead of picking up the phone and pressing 9 1 1, pick up the rifle and start pressing the trigger.

I’d say this is true in my neighborhood, but the laws so favor of the criminals that police presence has almost no effect. I think I’ve only survived because I stand my ground. I don’t pay attention to anything that’s not on my block, but I let the hood rats know that anything that goes down on my block is my business. I told them I bought my house and I have a right to protect my investment and they can kiss my white ass if they disagree. I think the pieces of fucking dog shit respected that.

You guys must live in big cities where the cops are out of control. I live in a town of about 100K and the cops ain’t so cocky, we all know where they live. Besides, we all know the sheriff and he has to get himself elected every four years.
I was driving thru town like a bat out of hell, passing on double yellow and at stop signs, running lights, etc. A female (good looking) cop pulled me over at my office and got out demanding my license. She asked me where the hell I was going in such a hurry. I looked pointedly at her gun and cuffs and said “You look like a pretty aggressive person, I’d think you would understand.” She handed back my license, smiled and told me to have a nice day.
Sounds like bullshit to me. Are you sure she didn’t fall to her knees and start blowing you? Make up one about fucking the good looking cop while you’re at it.
