Memo to Trump: ‘Action This Day!’

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

Memo to Trump: ‘Action This Day!’

“In victory, magnanimity!” said Winston Churchill.

Donald Trump should be magnanimous and gracious toward those whom he defeated this week, but his first duty is to keep faith with those who put their faith in him.

The protests, riots and violence that have attended his triumph in city after city should only serve to steel his resolve.

As for promptings that he “reach out” and “reassure” those upset by his victory, and trim or temper his agenda to pacify them, Trump should reject the poisoned chalice. This is the same old con.

Trump should take as models the Democrats FDR and LBJ.

Franklin Roosevelt, who had savaged Herbert Hoover as a big spender, launched his own New Deal in his first 100 days.

History now hails his initiative and resolve.

Lyndon Johnson exploited his landslide over Barry Goldwater in 1964 to erect his Great Society in 1965: the Voting Rights Act, Medicare and Medicaid. He compromised on nothing, and got it all.

Even those who turned on him for Vietnam still celebrate his domestic achievements.

President Nixon’s great regret was that he did not bomb Hanoi and mine Haiphong in 1969 — instead of waiting until 1972 — and bring the Vietnam War to an earlier end and with fewer U.S. casualties.

Nixon’s decision not to inflame the social and political crisis of the ’60s by rolling back the Great Society bought him nothing. He was rewarded with media-backed mass demonstrations in 1969 to break his presidency and bring about an American defeat in Vietnam.

“Action this day!” was the scribbled command of Prime Minister Churchill on his notepads in World War II. This should be the motto of the first months of a Trump presidency.

For the historic opportunity he and the Republican Party have been given by his stunning and unanticipated victory of Nov. 8 will not last long. His adversaries and enemies in politics and press are only temporarily dazed and reeling.

This great opening should be exploited now.

Few anticipated Tuesday morning what we would have today: a decapitated Democratic Party, with the Obamas and Clintons gone or going, Joe Biden with them, no national leader rising, and only the power of obstruction, of which the nation has had enough.

The GOP, however, on Jan. 20, will control both Houses of Congress and the White House, with the real possibility of remaking the Supreme Court in the image of the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan have indicated they are willing to work with President Trump.

There is nothing to prevent the new GOP from writing history.

In his first months, Trump could put a seal on American politics as indelible as that left by Ronald Reagan.

A partial agenda: First, he should ignore any importunings by President Obama to permit passage of the Trans-Pacific Partnership in a lame-duck session — and let the trade deal sink by year’s end.

On Jan. 20, he should have vetted and ready to nominate to the high court a brilliant constitutionalist and strict constructionist.

He should act to end interference with the Dakota Access pipeline and call on Congress to re-enact legislation, vetoed by Obama, to finish the Keystone XL pipeline. Then he should repeal all Obama regulations that unnecessarily restrict the production of the oil, gas and clean coal necessary to make America energy independent again.

Folks in Pennsylvania, southeast Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia should be shown, by executive action, that Trump is a man of his word. And when the mines open again, he should be there.

He should order new actions to seal the Southern border, start the wall and begin visible deportations of felons who are in the country illegally.

With a new education secretary, he should announce White House intent to work for repeal of Common Core and announce the introduction of legislation to put federal resources behind the charter schools that have proven to be a godsend to inner-city black children.

He should propose an immediate tax cut for U.S. corporations, with $2 to $3 trillion in unrepatriated profits abroad, who will bring the money home and invest it in America, to the benefit of our economy and our Treasury.

He should take the president’s phone and pen and begin the rewriting or repeal of every Obama executive order that does not comport with the national interest or political philosophy of the GOP.

Trump should announce a date soon for repeal and replacement of Obamacare and introduction of his new tax-and-trade legislation to bring back manufacturing and create American jobs.

Donald Trump said in his campaign that that this is America’s last chance. If we lose this one, he said, we lose the country.

The president-elect should ignore his more cautious counselors, and act with the urgency of his declared beliefs.

Obama/Jarrett could stop this rioting with one 10 minute speech. He won’t. Why? Imagine it was us rioting because of voter fraud? They’d be on us like stink on you know what.

Remember he said how grateful he was to W for the smooth transition and wanted to do everything he could to help Trump? Why would you think that now, of all times, he would tell the truth?

He could call on Obama to make that speech-privately of course while making it known that if he doesn’t, he will do it publicly.

These asshats rioting because Trump was elected don’t understand, that’s why he was elected.

And of course, as with BLM and such, it isn’t the fault of the rioters it’s the fault of Trump and his evil cohort of white people.

I’m glad they’re rioting–shows who the deplorables truly are and will only reinforce Trump’s resolve.

Buchanan: “He should act to end interference with the Dakota Access pipeline and …”

I think that in an effort to bring the country together, Trump could suggest that the fair thing to do (and which would get him the vote of every native Indian in 4 years) would be to slightly reroute the pipeline around their sacred area/territory. Wouldn’t take much to turn this into a win-win situation. It was contracted as their land by long-standing treaty was it not? I’m sure Trump will do the right thing. And face it, an immediate act to solve a problem that Obama could only address with jackboots (do you see eggs a-flying?). This is what Americans want. Not more militarization and tyranny.

They were asked repeatedly to participate in it’s route and other environmental concern decisions.

They simply failed to show up at meetings and ignored requests for input and advice.

Now you want to cater to them?

Do you realize the costs and other difficulties involved in rerouting a project like that after everything is already in place?

They should have responded to requests for their input and advice during the planning stages of the project when they were asked to give it. This was done under the Obama administration and any blame should be placed there.

excellent…bravo! Tweaking a project to ensure sacred lands, eg,
is a bit of a hassle but provides a demonstration of respect that
has been sorely lacking in America. There is a karmic reward for
showing respect as well. Last, it is what one does, not what one says,
that matters.

“Obama/Jarrett could stop this rioting with one 10 minute speech. He won’t. Why?”

That speech could stop the bad action. Apparently, bad action is what is wanted.

Let’s talk about Trump’s real action……

In Trump’s first address since his (s)election he gave Nutteryahoo and the State of Israhell a vigorous blow job which was a slap in the face to all Merikans in the wake of expressing his hope that Jaime Fukkin Dimon would be the TS. He went on to say in his speech that Israhell was one of the only true democratic countries and pledged his support. In truth that was tribute to the Zionist mafia and we are just as fucked as we ever were. I predict a speech to give a tribute blowjob to the Russian mafia is forthcoming which you maroons will take as statesmanship in the name of peace.

I would have hoped that his first address would have been to “We The People”, shades of Oreo’s (s)election! Blow Israel first at all cost.

You can down this, but I’m just the messenger and the message is NOTHING has changed.

We put up with your anti-Trump screeds for the past year.

Now that he is POTUS, are we going to have to put up with four more years of your anti-Trump bullshit?

Maybe you should go to Portland and help the special snowflakes chant “He’s not my President” ….. cuz, really, you’re not far removed from them.

Give us a fucken break, will ya??? Christ Almighty, dude, at least give the guy his first 100 days.

Stucky- As I barbed you for harping the morning after the election, I’m not surprised that you just evened it up. So you are saying that we should sit back and stay silent while the shitshow continues in overtime from the last 8 years? This is REALLY not a good sign Stucky and you above all people should be vocal.

Dear Mr. Trump,

We did not elect you to “reach across the aisle”.

We did not elect you to compromise.

We did not elect you to be nice.

We elected you to get shit done! So, grab their pussies and fuck them up!! Really.

Sincerely and in Christ’s love,
Stucky

Bea

I have NO illusions about what Trump can do. I have stated repeatedly that I voted for Trump for 3 reasons;
— to keep us out of WWIII with Russia
— to stop illegal immigration
— to appoint conservative Supreme Court and other Federal judges.

That’s it!! Anything beyond that is a bonus.

I don’t think he’ll do a damned thing about the Fed. I know he loves Israel. I believe he will give copfuks even more power. His slapping yuge tariffs across the board on everything scares the Bejeebus out of me. Bringing back manufacturing is a fucking pipe dream, imho. And, so on.

But, here’s the thing …. I’m willing to at least give him 100 days (Trump has a 200 day plan …ok) … and hold off judgment until then. Truly and honestly, while I loathed Obama from the get go, I had the same exact attitude — “Ok, this sucks ass, but let me be fair and give the guy a chance at succeeding.”

I hear what you are saying Stucky but while we are happy with avoiding nuclear war and thinning out the illegals are we supposed to accept sliding deeper into economic depression, higher taxes and the very real possibility of hyper-inflation? I’m a business owner, I don’t have another 8 years to wait on relief from this dog and pony show. He should address US above all others.

You are both right, sort of. Hopefully we will get the 3 items Stucky
notes, and Bea, hopefully your business will gain freedom to grow and
stay safe. The Hil is OUT. Four years of her would have turned our hearts
to depression. Trump is in place to ease us through global and American primarily,
fiscal collapse. That collapse is inevitable. He will do a better job than the Dems.
Trump can not restore America to the 50’s. He can hopefully protect us from
growing numbers of invaders and from war. And, rectify the Supremes.

Bea,

You seem to be expecting Trump top magically change the course of things before he even takes office.

That’s not very realistic since the changes needed cannot be done overnight, it will take decades of concerted effort to change everything it took decades to cause in the first place and years to simply redirect the most urgent of them to a less destructive end.

As a business owner you should know that, otherwise I don’t see how you stay in business (unless it’s a government dependent business that can withstand poor management).

Anon- I have been in business very successfully for decades so the last thing I want to see out of Trump is for him to start blowing the people who control the money mess we have now. And your snide remark to infer that I am not a good manager in running my business was uncalled for……..do you own a business? If so you should be irate at the very mention of Jaime Fukkin Dimon. I don’t expect that Trump can do magical things prior to taking office but I would think that we could expect that he throw out some names of potentials that are not Zionist puppets and mafia. He’s the superhero remember. so why start off on the wrong foot?

Edit: My point about not having another 8 years is that my clients are getting broker by the day and businesses need customers with money to spend to keep the doors open, surely even you can understand that.

I am self employed -sometimes employing people and sometimes not- and have been for the majority of my rather long life. I don’t get outraged at the mere mention of anyone or anything.

Every angle needs to be considered in every decision if it is to be successful, and the decision itself is what needs to be judged according to its results.

There has been no decision made yet, Trump still has to actually take office before he can make one.

You said, “Bringing back manufacturing is a fucking pipe dream…”

Just read today that S Korea is coming to grips with new tariffs by announcing they are going to be building their new auto plants here. It’s just one more way Trump understands business in a way most of us don’t.

Reagan got Toyota to do that pretty much the same way to the extent that a good portion of the public believes Toyota is an American company.

It’s a proven strategy.

Days of oil flow lost versus a few cables of pipe? Get things done but do it the best way. Simply makes good business sense to me: What is best for the nation as a whole; if this is the consensus which got T elected? Are we in competition with fellow Americans or with other nations and the foreign trade deficit?

Hmmm….If I were Trump I’d look into who is paying the rioters/agitators ( George Soros) and announce that I was going after them ( him) with guns blazing under the RICO laws .

I’d arrest the agitators and inform them that as part of a RICO investigation they were looking at 5 years in Federal prison ( with a loss of latte rights) . I’m sure they’d sing like a bird on the folks that paid them . I’d play their confessionals on my Presidential Youtube channel…which would show that the MSM has been lying to the American people to a greater degree than they realize .

Bea…I’m hoping that the difference in Trump and the Hildabeast when the collapse takes place is that Trump tells Goldman-Sachs et.al to fuck themselves as opposed to the bought and paid for Hildabeast who would have tried to bail them out .

Buckhed- I would hope for the same thing so why do you suppose that he has had a ex-Soros employee/ Goldman partner running his campaign funds all these months and THEN throws out the name of the biggest MackDaddy bankster in this country for TS? Does that make sense in your world?
