Too early to be sure about that, IMO, I’ll be more comfortable when Trump is actually sworn in.

Well,

At risk of being sentimental around the STM’s here I’ll say the following:

Each day, which is an adventure for me, to be lived with the people I love both at home and at work and the opportunity to make each day count towards the greater glory of the universe or God- however you’d like to see it. I’m even thankful for the STM’s on this board, some of whom I would consider fellow travellers and friends. And that’s a fact jack.

For the best things in life and the fact they are free:

Sight to see the rising sun.

Touch to feel the hug of a loved one.

Smell to know when the turkey’s done.

The taste of butter on a bun.

To hear the sounds of laughter and fun.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot:

Shit-throwing TBP monkeys on a raging comment run.

Unsaturated, Old Ben wanted to make the turkey the national bird. In that case, you would have cooked that eagle in your yard.

Mike, It wasn’t half. It was half of the people who actually voted, give or take a few zombies and computer glitches.

If only 10% of the population voted, nearly 5% voted the way you and Trump wanted.

Next time around, it could be that 6% of the population could install Kanye in the White House.

It’s me Dutchman, don’t know why it came up Anon.

I’m thankful for no more mouse.

A little background: I have a $million dollar, stone home, in Minneapoils, with 30″ overhangs, covered in aluminum. Two years ago, my wife said the security camera for the front door was not working. I thought it was the camera, and I replaced it. No luck. Then I went to the attic. Some little cocksucker mouse ate through several of the security camera wires. Not only that, he ate them off right on the attic floor – no way to splice them.

The little bastard took out the camera power supply, the camera, and the display power supply. Luckily, several years before I remodeled the kitchen, and had photos of where I ran the wire. Need to cut into the sheetrock to splice the wires. All in all, I figure he did about $1,000 worth of damage. Never could figure out how he got into the attic.

I used poision (in the attic) and it must have killed the little bastard – hope he died a horrible death. I know why Elmer Fudd used a shotgun in those cartoons!

I’m thankful that my father and hero is still alive after being given two months to live in February. We just learned yesterday that his condition is growing worse but he’s still with us and not suffering.

I’m thankful that our youngest dog is still with us. She was given a 10 month death sentence in January but through the miracle of modern veterinary medicine and the internet she is still going strong with no outward signs of illness. She had a check up last week and all of her labs have improved back into the normal range except one which is remaining steady and her anemia has gone away. She just turned three on 11-3.

I’m thankful that our oldest dog (my avatar), dying of congestive heart failure, is still with us. She still bounces around and runs like a pup everyday and still outruns her younger companion at 14 years of age. It’s a real joy to have both dogs.

I’m grateful for an amazing wife that still puts up with my dumbass after 28 years of marriage.

I’m grateful to have an excellent job that challenges me daily. No two days are ever the same and I learn a little more each week. I could do without the corporate side of things but the job itself rocks!

I’m grateful to admin and his wife Avalon along with all of the non-anonymous commenters for providing and maintaining TBP for all us feces flinging simians to rage and rail against TPTB. This certainly isn’t the country I was promised as a kid and TBP is an excellent place to come to terms with that.

Point 1 I’m thankful for TBP because I got my brain back, sort of. The diabetes really did a number on me 10 years ago and I was living in a fog. I don’t have the opportunity to share much with older folks since they retired, I was soon surrounded by dumb pups with no idea about how the world works. I recall the long talks old guys would do.

I liked to listen because they could discuss just about anything. One guy talked about the movie Matador. He related how blacks had to sleep in their cars when traveling. Another told me about Mormons and the difference between belief and faith.

Our Q told me about how his family got through the depression. He said if another one hit, he knew how to hunt squirrels. He still was a very economical man, his wife typed letters top to bottom with no margins. He made me a fireplace grate with some steel screen he found.

Old Earl discussed the stars as we stood in the middle of the lakebed at 2am waiting on a shuttle landing. He spoke of the heavens and came back to earth to mention the times when a storm could make the hairs on your arms stand on end since the lakebed was super flat for miles and you were the tallest thing on it. I mentioned that I only really smoked a cigarette a day. He was a chain smoker and said that if he smoked that light, he’d go ahead and quit. Which is what I did.

Some people see their brain half full and some see it half empty. I appreciate the stories I’ve read here that occupy my mind, it was quite empty for a spell but now it is almost just right.

I’m thankful it’s OVER! Safe for another year.

In terms of food preparation, there’s very little difference between preparing for two, or preparing for ten.
