According to President-elect Donald Trump, Boeing is “doing a number” on the American people by raising the cost of construction on the new Air Force One aircraft to over $4 billion.
Before entering his office on Tuesday morning, he took a question from the press about canceling the order.
“The plane is totally out of control. It’s going to be over 4 billion dollars for the Air Force One program. I think it’s ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money,” he said.
You gotta love that kind of decisiveness. Only someone from business would make that type of decision.
Politicians would instead form a committee and call for a report in twelve months.
I absolutely LOVE it. I watched what Boeing did to the Tinker AFB atmosphere after they got onto the “gubment contract gravy train.” It is a wonder they don’t have their logo on all the AWACS planes still. Hmmm… or do they in a way?
What they do is install some sort of equipment engineered by Boeing and then claim it as proprietary. End of competition (not quite that simple, but is how it is done.)
Only now it would take an act of Congress to stop building the damn thing. This is another reason government is so wasteful.
The military industrial complex in full revealing view. Government contracts are lucrative, how many $500 claw hammers were involved with that contract?
They thought they were building it for the Clintons, so it needed to be outfitted for minor sex slaves and spirit cooking.
Iska…you are evil
LOL. Probably had a sound-proof dungeon in the cargo hold.
You forget to mention the Pizza ovens & Ping-Pong Tables. No longer needed under Trump
Good move….embarrass the Mega-Corps which dictate U.S. policy to the bought and paid for politicians.
Fucking love it. When was the last time a politician said something they need/use costs too much?
Ron Paul?
Airbus should fuck with ’em a bit and offer a couple of A330s for free. Or even 380s which list for about 400m/copy. With all the fancy EMP, comm, medical facilities, &TC installed I’d bet the cost would be much less than 2 BILLION/copy. Just another account of the incredible bullshit perpetrated by the military industrial complex. Coupled with the revelation of 125BILLION FRNs “lost” by the pentagon, this is not a good day for the MIC. Will heads roll over this? Of course not! But if a citizen makes a small mistake on his taxes the IRS is on his ass like stink on shit!
Well, the pentagon has lost about 10 trillion before,
what matters a $125. billion?
Delightful irony from the “President” who had NO problems “doing a number” on the US Taxpayer via the “Trump University” scam. “One rule for ME, another for everyone else” does not work (unless you are a member of the US “Connected Elite” and he most certainly IS.
It would be far cheaper to get COMAC to do a conversion on their Y-20 (seeing as you Yanks “must” have the biggest . . . . .) 🙂
Trump University was not a taxpayer paid government program.
Old Trump is looking for an excuse to keep flying his Trump plane and bill the government for the lease.
Obama got criticized for his new helo. Trump is preempting any criticism for the new AF1.
I read somewhere that a good boss doesn’t let his employees worry about managerial things. In this open society, folks have no time to enjoy their private lives for worrying about Kanye, Brexit, every fucking blip on the family radar screen. Now Trump wants to tweet about every outrage under the sun.
Awright, fuckit, I’ll just put the family on hold while I monitor the situation.
Boeing HQ is in Chicago …. and huge mfg plants in WA and OR.
All those states went to Hillcunt.
Fucken payback for blue-state mother-effers, baby!!
I’m betting those new planes will be delivered and put into service and the maroons will only remember he said we are being overcharged cuz he is on our side. (wink….wink the final cost will be 5 billion but nobody really cares). Same price as a bag of hammers, right?
