I’d bet the statistics on American Hate Crimes are quite skewed away from blacks and towards whites, since a white person will be charged with a hate crime at the drop of a hat but a black person will not without a substantial amount of public outcry like we saw with the Chicago Four who abused the disabled white kid.
Also, we’ve seen in the FBI’s statistics before they will label hispanics as whites to skew the crime stats, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did the same here.
CNN has called the Florida airport shooter a “White Hispanic” and I’ve noticed recent pictures in the news seem to be showing him with lighter skin color that the earlier ones when the incident was still fresh and things were being pumped out as fast as the came in.
As for me, looking at any of the pictures, then or now, would not result in me saying to myself “a white guy”, I’d be guessing a PR or maybe a far Northern African (non negro) before I’d be guessing a white guy.

Bet you don’t do that anymore. I used to be non-racist. The last 8 years have changed me. I just don’t act on it. Fortunately my community is pretty much all of European stock. But don’t push me.
