QUOTES OF THE DAY

“The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.”

Tacitus, The Annals of Imperial Rome

“To oppose corruption in government is the highest obligation of patriotism.”

G. Edward Griffin

“Power, wrongly used, defeats the oppressor as well as the oppressed.”

Wally Lamb

“The mistake you make, don’t you see,is in thinking one can live in a corrupt society without being corrupt oneself. After all, what do you achieve by refusing to make money? You’re trying to behave as though one could stand right outside our economic system. But one can’t. One’s got to change the system, or one changes nothing. One can’t put things right in a hole-and-corner way, if you take my meaning.”

George Orwell

“. . . in no instance has a system in regard to religion been ever established, but for the purpose, as well as with the effect of its being made an instrument of intimidation, corruption, and delusion, for the support of depredation and oppression in the hands of governments.”

Jeremy Bentham

There is a simple correlation that the more government you have, the more power there is, and the more corruption occurs. That is why our founding forefathers felt that the government that governs lease, governs best. They were pretty smart fellows.
