Oakland pair accused of beating man to death, stealing $1.14
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Police say two young men are accused of brutally beating a 55-year-old man to death in an Oakland park and stealing $1.14 from him.
KRON-TV reported Tuesday (http://bit.ly/2lylOm6) that 19-year-old Jabari Jones and 18-year-old Breshawn Clark were arrested last week on suspicion of murder.

Investigators say a 12-year-old child called 911 after spotting Phillip Fai Low lying motionless.
Officials say witnesses saw Jones punch and stomp on Low multiple times at Lowell Park Feb. 22. Police say the two suspects left the park but returned twice more to further assault Low and steal his money.
Officer Jose Barocio said at one point Jones and Clark placed Low inside a shopping cart and threw him into water.
The two men were ordered back to court March 20 to enter pleas. It wasn’t immediately known if they have attorneys.
Two Detroit women are charged in the killing of a Garden City High School student who was shot in the head after someone reportedly made a snide comment about the size of one of the women’s derriere.
Sharnea Diamond McCoy, 21, and Erica Italy Osburn, 25, are expected to be arraigned this morning in 36th District Court on charges of first-degree murder and felony firearm, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
They are accused in the killing of 17-year-old Reginald Ramone Robinson on Feb. 24 in the 12000 block of Plymouth Road in Detroit.
Osburn is accused of shooting the teen after they got into a “heated exchange” inside a store, the prosecutor’s office said in a news release this morning. McCoy is accused of driving the car from which Osburn allegedly opened fire on the teen and his friends.
Fox 2 News reported that the teen’s friends said they were in a gas station when a man they didn’t know made a comment about one woman’s “big booty,” which caused the teens to laugh. The friend told Fox 2 the woman apparently thought the boys made the remark.
Kudos to the 12 year old who risked a beating/perhaps death for calling the cops.I would have trusted that kid with a firearm and he could have ended the attack before the old guy died(RIP old guy).This is oakland,cali.(No spell check,will not capitalize it!),unfortunately,the only folks with guns are the police and other local gang members,a armed citizen could have ended this nonsense,and soon,they will.
You don’t hear about it because of Chicago but Oakland has 1 or 2 murders every day. I live about 40 miles northeast of SF/Oak and if circumstance dictates I HAVE to be in either city,I go heavy.

What you said is true but essentially ignored. Colin Flaherty has plenty of videos of black on Asian violence on Youtube. It’s usually shopkeepers, students (as Asian teens tend to be smaller and scrawnier than their black peers), and knockout game victims.
I’m with Flashman, but a few things occur to me:
1. I learn little from stories like this because I wouldn’t be caught dead in the circumstances that existed immediately prior to the assault/murder.
2. Most of the victims in these stories are Eloi. Their deaths are simple payment of the Eloi tax.
3. If enough Eloi get raped/maimed/murdered, maybe the herd will alter its premises and we can see a return to saner public policies. In this regard, stacking the bodies of Eloi is a service provided by the feral animals who only appear to be human.
The problem is, where I live, urban ghetto crime is now spreading out from that ghetto and into places I actually shop and visit. I’m not entertained when I begin to feel like I need to wear body armor to go to a restaurant three miles from my house.
As it is, my wife and I won’t go out to dinner if the timing means it will be dark by the time we’re returning home.
PS: body armor is an extreme insulator; wearing it is like donning a heavy coat insulated with goose down. And it doesn’t cover anywhere near enough to be sanguine about engaging in a gun battle.

Unfortunately, the state I live in is essentially no-carry – but when I do go out at night alone for whatever reason (or with the mrs. for dinner), I carry at least a flashlight. I’ve also talked about these crime statistics that TBP regulars know all too well but which the PC culture says do not exist or are not to be believed because to do so is “racist.”
The wife isn’t as attuned as I am to these unpleasant but sobering facts, but she’s open to them. We’ve agreed that we will raise our children in a neighborhood whose demographics and school districts are not blessed by diversity – it has become a non-negotiable life objective. We’ll be fine if the school is mainly or overwhelmingly mostly white and East Asian, for in our area, such schools tend to be of excellent quality and highly safe.
As you know, awareness and avoidance are key whether you can carry a gun or not.
Most of us really do live in MOSTLY safe places. It doesn’t take that much effort to make some other bovine herd member look like a better target. Let some other clown pay the Eloi Tax.
I’m working out more, including with a heavy punching bag, in an effort to extend as long as possible my ability and visible appearance of being a hard target. My stretch goal is to make it to 70 with the ability to hold my own.
Head on a swivel. Carry a blindingly bright flashlight (as you alluded.) Consider a small baton like the Cold Steel Koga SD2 or the PocketShark (it might be better than nothing.) Where I live an ASP is considered a deadly weapon and carrying one might be a fast way to the crowbar motel (even though they’re great for nasty dogs, no need to hit them just use to push) but there’s always OC sprays, too. These are what I think about.
Kudos to you for working out and even using a punching bag. If all men focused on fitness and survival skills/self-defense training, we’d all be safer (and I myself should invest in self-defense).
