“Those on rocky ground are the ones who, when they first hear, receive the word with joy. But they have no roots; they believe for a time and then fall away. The seed that fell among thorns are those who have heard, but are choked by the worries and riches and desires of life, and fail to produce good fruit. But the seed that fell on rich soil is those who, when they have heard the word, embrace it with a generous and good heart, and bear fruit through perseverance.”

The fruit in this passage represents what you really, deep down inside, believe. Because the fruit is your words.
Jesus told the Pharisees to make the tree good and it’s fruit would be good. Or make the tree bad and it’s fruit bad. He said the tree is your heart and that from what was in your heart in abundance would come the words from your mouth. Expressing what you really believe.
He finished his teaching saying this. “For by your words you will be justified. And by your words you will be condemned”.
This is why He also said that by a person’s fruit we know them.
