A week or so back I posted an article about farmers in the midwest who own John Deere eqpt hiring hackers to hack their own machines because John Deere charges too much & takes too long to fix them-it seems that every repair causes the software to need to be tweaked & only J Deere is authorized to update it.It was on Personalliberty.com for anyone wanting to read it.
Several years ago I remember hearing somewhere that auto companies were considering an attempt to enforce copyright law on their software,thus restricting who can legally work on more and more parts of your auto-even the low air indicators are connected to software.
You mentioned thrift stores-how many used books do they sell?I read something several years ago that publishing houses were trying to make or enforce existing law,not sure which,that would make it illegal to sell your used books.
