Also the guy who guided her to a stop with a gentle hand move toward the wall niche. He became her defender in an instant. It is amazing how your mind and body will react to danger. I had a near death experience where everything went into slow motion and my brain and body were calmly acting out a survival plan. Five seconds expanded to five minutes.
You should read HF’s story of survival in the truck. That was just as nerve-wracking as card82’s airplane story.

BB, if you are replying to me, no… it was not an LSD flashback. It was real life. I had a few seconds to
move my 1950 Chevy Suburban back eight feet to avoid being crushed by a falling second story masonry wall. It was a cold winter morning and the old small block V-8 was a cranky starter. An idiot with a cable and bulldozer decided to pull down an old two story garage without waiting for the boss, or giving me time to move. I survived without a scratch but the old Chevy was totaled, including the dash. The door popped open and I stepped out.
Not sure what the “fail” part of the library aisle full of books was. Looks like the aftermath of an earthquake. Unlike store shelves, at least books don’t break beyond repair (generally).
As for the suggestions on repeat destroyers of property (graffiti “artists”), the second suggestion sounds like a great one. I would start with the first one first however as the victim MUST be compensated and made whole, and cutting off someone’s hands doesn’t achieve that any more than locking someone in a cage that the victim must help pay for with their taxes makes the victim whole again. Justice should ALWAYS be about RESTITUTION, not RETRIBUTION. If the state wasn’t involved whatsoever, and if political ladder climbers like the DA, Judges, etc. weren’t part of the process, we would likely have a justice system that does more than make the STATE feel all-powerful, politicians feel like they are “doing something”, and the rest of society feel like “justice is being served.”
How about just the index finger so he can’t work the little spray nozzle?

In Ann Arbor, someone had the brilliant idea to use artists, conventional and street, to paint/create artwork on the spots that were being continually “tagged.”
The results are incredible. Beauty expanded, pride created, graffiti down all over the city.
