What the N. Korean “Crisis” Is Really About

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

The North Korean “crisis” is a Washington orchestration. North Korea was last at war 1950-53. N. Korea has not attacked or invaded anyone in 64 years. N. Korea lacks the military strength to attack any country, such as South Korea and Japan, that is protected by the US. Moreover, China would not permit N. Korea to start a war.

So what is the demonization of N. Korea by the presstitutes and Trump administration about?

It is about the same thing that the demonization of Iran was about. The “Iranian threat” was an orchestration that was used as cover to put US anti-ballistic missile bases on Russia’s borders. An anti-ballistic missile (ABM) is intended to intercept and destroy nuclear-armed ICBMs (intercontinental ballistic missiles) and prevent them from reaching their targets.

Washington claimed that the anti-ABM bases were not directed at Russia, but were for the protection of Europe against Iran’s nuclear ICBMs. Insouciant Americans might have believed this, but the Russians surely did not as Iran has neither ICBMs nor nuclear weapons. The Russian government has made it clear that Russia understands the US bases are directed at preventing a Russian retalliation against a Washington first strike.

The Chinese government also is not stupid. The Chinese leadership understands that the reason for the N. Korean “crisis” is to provide cover for Washington to put anti-ballistic missile sites near China’s border.

In other words, Washington is creating a shield against nuclear retalliation from both Russia and China from a US nuclear strike against both countries.

China has been more forceful in its reply to Washington’s efforts than have the Russians. China has demanded an immediate halt to the US deployment of missiles in South Korea. https://www.rt.com/news/386828-china-thaad-south-korea/

In order to keep Americans confused, Washington now calls anti-ABMs THAAD, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense. China understands that THAAD has nothing whatsoever to do with N. Korea, which borders S. Korea, making it pointless for N. Korea to attack S. Korea with ICBMs.

THAAD in S. Korea is directed against China’s retaliatory forces. It is part of Washington’s preparations to nuke both Russia and China with minimal consequence to the US, although Europe would certainly be completely destroyed as THAAD or anti-ABMs are useless against Russian nuclear cruise missiles and the Russian air force.

But no Empire has ever cared about the fate of its vassals, and Washington is uninterested in Europe’s fate. Washington is interested only in its hegemony over the world.

The question is: now that Russia and China understand that Washington is preparing for a preemptive nuclear strike against them in order to remove the two constraints on Washington’s unilateral behavior, will the two countries sit there and wait for the strike?

What would you do?

On April 27 I posted on this website a column, “Washington Plans to Nuke Russia and China.” My column was a report that this was the conclusion of the Russians and Chinese themselves. I quoted Russian Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir, Deputy Head of Operations of the Russian General Staff and provided links for his expression of concern such as: https://www.rt.com/news/386276-us-missile-shield-russia-strike/

As the readers of my website are a self-selected group of intelligent and concerned people who want to know what is the reality as opposed to what is The Matrix, I was somewhat taken aback when several wrote to me that they disagreed with me that Washington planned to nuke Russia and China. I write clearly; yet here were several readers who mistook my report on the conclusion of the Russian general staff for my opinion! I was also amazed that the readers thought that it mattered what they think or what I think. All that matters is what the Russian and Chinese leadership think.

I then looked at the comment sections on other sites that repost my columns, and there were the trolls hired by the CIA, Mossad, National Endowment for Democracy, George Soros, NATO, US State Department, and others denouncing me for promoting nuclear war. Of course, it is Washington that is promoting nuclear war, and it is Washington that has convinced Russia and China that a preemptive nuclear strike is in their future.

Washington, being full of hubris, thinks that this will scare Russia and China and that the two governments will submit to Washington.

Possibly they will, but I would not bet the life of the planet on it.

It is conceiveable that education in the US and throughout the Western world is so poorly done that readers educated in recent decades simply cannot comprehend what they are reading. How else to explain the mischaracterizations of my report on the conclusion of the Russian General Staff? The only other explanation is that websites that have comment sections provide the opportunity for the ruling elites to hire the slander of truth-tellers.

I seldom see an intelligent comment on websites that have comment sections. Most comments come from people too ashamed to speak in their real names and who are unwilling to provide their real email addresses. Almost all comments come from narcistic ignorant fools hiding behind fake names and fake email addresses and from paid trolls.

I don’t write in order to be slandered by paid trolls and ignorant narcistic fools. I regard it as highly irresponsible for websites to undercut their writers with anonymous accusations and slander from no one knows who. There should be no comment sections unless there is a firm check on the commentator’s real name and real email address.

Sites that do not have this requirement no longer have my permission to repost my columns.

Washington, as the Russian and Chinese governments comprehend, has placed life on earth under dire threat. This is serious business. There is no space for ignorant narcistic idiots and paid trolls to be using the Internet to attack the few who truthfully report the dire threat that all life faces from Washington’s drive for world hegemony.

I like your material, but this sounds more like a rant. You use the term anti-ABM multiple times (anti-anti-ballistic missile) and the word “narcistic,” instead of “narcissicistic.” I try to avoid being the grammar police, but your message got a little lost on me due to the lack of editing.

Need to get out the waders because the hip boots are not tall enough to wade through the bull shit here.

PCR, you should be ashamed of yourself for this constant yammering that the US is preparing for nuclear war with China and Russia as it is absolute bullshit. There is no strategic or tactical advantage for the US to want nuclear war with anyone – there can be no winners and everyone knows it. The only people that see any advantage to nuclear war are the ayatollahs, for their insane religious beliefs, and Little Kim because he wants to preserve his evil dictatorship and the subjugation of the North Korean people.

If Iran has no ICBMs then why “According to James Clapper’s recently released worldwide threat assessment (March 25, 2015), “Iran’s ballistic missiles are inherently capable of delivering WMD, and Tehran already has the largest inventory of ballistic missiles in the Middle East.”” (http://nationalinterest.org/feature/irans-ballistic-missiles-are-actually-huge-problem-14804).

And Lil kim, he could not have made it clearer that he fully intends on sending a nuclear warhead to Japan and LA just as soon as he is able.

That you, the Chinese and Russians see the US installing defensive missile systems to protect against these threats as offensive acts then you and they are just going to have to get over it.

As for your pissing and moaning about the comments you are receiving, if the shoe fits.

I am none of your alleged “trolls hired by the CIA, Mossad, National Endowment for Democracy, George Soros, NATO, US State Department” or ” ignorant narcistic idiots and paid trolls”. I am just a simple country boy that reads enough to be generally able to separate the wheat from the chaff or, in this case, the truth from the bullshit.

Steve.
Perhaps you should edit that reading enough to say “reading enough mainstream drivel”.
It’s a manuever to use as leverage to keep the Russians and Chinese scrambling to cover it among other things.

It will be interesting to see how quickly the North Korea “problem” disappears now that we have our missiles there and our puppet is likely to win the South Korean election on Monday due to nuclear tensions.

The american education system has achieved it’s goal – nobody can reason.

I always thought americans were just sheeple to be sheared.

But now I realize they are cattle – to be milked daily and slaughtered at will.

I read this on another site earlier today and popped on here to see if Admin posted it… Mr. Servant, I think Indentured is one of the most humble first names I’ve seen in the Servant family.

I went to the link and read the comments made by General Poz. I think it sounds like the General is doing what Generals do… drumming up support for more weapons and training dollars for the Russian military. PCR is a bit sensitive concerning real names and real email addresses, in my opinion, but my real name is Martha and I prefer Maggie. Admin knows how to contact me via email, if and when the bombs start falling.

You do understand there is no hiding behind a fake online name… Right?

I hide behind a fake name and email address. Because of the goons. The same ones the author is complaining about. Isnt the internet supposed to guarantee some level of anonymity?

Besides that, it is my firm belief that the gun hanging on the wall always comes into play by the third act. Surprised tptb havent already used their nukes at least once or……..oh yeah. Nevermind. Knowing how the Sociopathic Prevaricating NeoCons hate Russia and control America, the Russians should take Counter Actions. Trump being persuaded by NeoCons to attack Syria over a False Flag was a real eye opener. PCR is doing a great job; and most (but not all) American’s comments are ignorant.

” There should be no comment sections unless there is a firm check on the commentator’s real name and real email address.”

Good luck with that, Paul. Unless I’m hosting a blog, I see no reason whatsoever to use my full name and my email address. You read comments here, to judge by the fact that you’ve posted a comment here to take exception to something Jim wrote about one of your articles.

Grow a thicker skin. Develop some insouciance of your own. Loosen up and be determined to simply fail to give a shit what people say in response to your articles when they are posted on blogs that you don’t own. If you don’t, you’re in for a rough time of it.

Ed,
That was just excellent…and a detailed comment rather
than a one liner. I love it.
Insouciant is not really a part of my vocabulary,
but I don’t mind PCR using it. He likes it.
I actually agree with PCR on most of what he worries
and warns about. Facts are facts. However the onion has many
layers, and a layer of concern is Israel’s role in the ME.
It needs more lands and more resources. The US is apparently
ever ready to assist…even though the PEOPLE are sick and
tired of military anything. One Pearl Harbor, then 2=9/11,
isn’t it time for #3? Many crimes will be covered up and
some will move up a notch toward their goals. I’d love
for there to be fewer weapons pointed every which way.
BTW, NK is broke and Russia is not in great financial shape
and China has billions to feed and no freaking clean water.
Some folks are trying to provoke some dastardly shit.
I am for the snipers in the world elite squads to rid of us
of despots with murder on the mind.
Keep writing PCR, and post here, because we appreciate
and need your passion.

I am happy to be me. I am comfortable in my own skin. I am old and poor and care not if a trog grabs my identity – I have nothing to lose and little to give. If another’s need is greater and he wants to be me – go ahead and then I can retire in comfort knowing that another has taken the chains that bind me.

I am grateful to be where I am, having been nutured in UK from an early age and I am writing a book about it. Here’s my comment on being grateful:

“A South African once remarked to me: “You’re lucky, you have won the lottery”. With disbelief I denied that I had ever done so, and he responded: “But you were born in the UK and for us that means you have already won the Lottery!”
It was a sudden awakening as I reflected on all those things I had previously taken for granted to secure my place, like most of us in UK, in the top 10% of the world’s population measured by income and wealth (net worth). I am not special, but I was born by chance, in a special place and thus unknowingly took for granted all the advantages and benefits on offer. I knew no other system, until I travelled the world and ended up in South Africa where I learned many new things about life in general and lessons for myself in particular. I had been happy in my ignorance but now I had to do some serious re-thinking and evaluating my long-held values and beliefs.
I started by listing some of those things with which I could identify and which I had taken for granted in my cosseted paradise embedded in the heart of the English countryside:

• I was born in UK an advanced, rich, civilised and peaceful country
• I was born without complication and with a good brain
• I had access to free healthcare by the miracle of the NHS
• I spoke English as my first language which helped my education and communication and made travelling the world much easier
• I was born in 1944, at the end of the war, although I had experienced some shortages in my war-torn country, I accepted my lot unconditionally
• My ‘boomer’ group happened to become the most blessed of all generations
• We never knew war except at a distance and were never forcibly entered into military service
• I was born into a functional, middle class family with emphasis on learning
• I was educated (free) at a grammar school gaining competent basic life skills
• I became an apprentice when there were jobs and opportunities freely available and through further (free) education became a professional
• I had access to clean, cheap running water in abundance
• I was warm, dry and well fed at all times, I have never known hunger
• I married and was blessed with a loving wife who gave me four children, two boys and two girls all fit and healthy

I am sure you can add to this list for there are too many blessings to be counted. My question however is: To whom do I owe all this abundance? This is the essence of my book and why I chose to write it because in 2017 I believe our world is again facing a great crisis and yet another revolution will follow naturally from the technology and communications boom of the 1990s and 2000s. It is an interesting story and I will paint for you the picture I have in my mind using the jigsaw game: Albert Einstein claimed that many of his inspirations, created through original thought, were realised by the use of mind games. Here’s one of mine:

I hope to publish my book in 2018

Austrian,
What a nice message. Notify us of your book publishing.

I am presently reading Elizabeth Kostova’s 3rd
book, “The Shadow Land,” just out. It is set in
Bulgaria present, but flashes back to the war.
As a writer, you are likely to be a reader. The title
is my gift to you for writing such a lovely message
about gratitude.
BTW, I am from Frankfurt. I was
dragged out of there by parents, away from my wonderful
grandmother. I am a bit younger than you, and I have known
forever that we would come to these conflicts. I “hope”
the worst can be averted. War kills and maims, and crushes
people. Yet it continues. Shite.

Thanks, Suzanna

From wikipedia. “Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), formerly Theater High Altitude Area Defense, is a United States Army anti-ballistic missile system designed to shoot down short, medium, and intermediate range ballistic missiles in their terminal phase using a hit-to-kill approach”

PCR states “In other words, Washington is creating a shield against nuclear retalliation from both Russia and China from a US nuclear strike against both countries.”

But the THAAD is a terminal phase weapon. If they are based in SK, or other places south of the polar circle, how can they shot down terminal phase re-entry device coming down say in Chicago as a retaliation from a first strike coming over the polar circle? If it is based in SK it will probably not be in the trajectory of a Chinese ICBM aimed at the US. Is it also fast enough to catch an ICBM going the other direction?

It would think the intercept trajectories would not agree with the trajectories of a retaliatory strike from the US from China or Russia, but I am not an expert. It seems to me the US must also have THAAD sites to destroy the reentry device in its final phase. I don’t know if you could use a THAAD battery in SK to shoot down missiles launched with a trajectory in another direction.

I think PCR drank too much beer when he wrote that article.

Flying Monkey.
These missiles are fully capable and are intended to be armed with small and midsize nukes.
The Saker gives some excellent coverage of this topic. thesaker.com should get you there if your’e interested. He’s an excellent weapons and tactics man, he just gets in over his head on politics.
They can be re-armed with nukes quickly and the purpose is to ensure Russia and China don’t try to retaliate when “We” attack Iran. It has little to do with missile defense. If we can get rid of N. Koreas leaders and take over it will put us on both of their doorsteps.
