Trayvon Martin Awarded Posthumous Degree In Aeronautical Science

Funniest story of the day. Not an Onion story. This is a classic. An all black college (I use the term loosely) that graduates 16.8% of its skittles loving enrollees on time, is awarding Trayvon Martin an Aeronautical Science degree. Rumor is this is the first graduate of Aeronautical Science from this prestigious institution. I understand he is getting a minor in Hoody Studies. Trayvon loved airplanes as a kid, so his straight F average in high school surely would have led to an Aeronautical Science degree. Right?

Only 16.8% of first-time/full-time students graduate from Florida Memorial University on time (two or four years depending on the degree) and only 38.9% graduate at all, ranking this school below average in both categories when compared nationally.

A historically black college plans to award Trayvon Martin a posthumous degree later in May, the school announced Wednesday.

Florida Memorial University will present a bachelor’s of aeronautical science May 13 to Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.

Trayvon Martin died in 2012 after neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman shot him during an altercation.

The award serves to honor Martin’s memory and pay homage to the work his parents do for social justice, the school said.

“The University will confer upon TRAYVON MARTIN a posthumous degree in Aeronautical Science with a concentration in Flight Education, in honor of the steps he took during his young life toward becoming a pilot,” the school’s statement read.

Martin wanted to become a pilot or learn how to fly planes, the Tampa Bay Times reported earlier.

“As we approach 50 years in Miami Gardens, this commencement holds a special place in all of our hearts…Of special significance is awarding posthumously the Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation to Trayvon Martin,” Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis, president of Florida Memorial University, said in a statement.

The school plans to host a fundraiser for its Department of Aviation and Safety and for The Trayvon Martin Foundation after the ceremony.

Trayvon’s death and Zimmerman’s acquittal sparked the Black Lives Matter movement.

This just in. Could our new president, Donald “kicking ass and taking names” Trump, be preparing to touch the real third rail of american politics, racial set asides? From yesterday’s budget signing statement, I quote. “My Administration shall treat provisions that allocate benefits on the basis of race, ethnicity, and gender (e.g., Division B, under the heading “Minority Business Development”; Division C, sections 8016, 8021, 8038, and 8042; Division H, under the headings “Departmental Management Salaries and Expenses,” “School Improvement Programs,” and “Historically Black College and University Capital Financing Program Account”; Division K, under the heading “Native American Housing Block Grants”; and Division K, section 213) in a manner consistent with the requirement to afford equal protection of the laws under the Due Process Clause of the Constitution’s Fifth Amendment.” Chew on that one, doomers.

This is your pilot Trayvon Martin speaking. I will be flying you to Bora Bora today with my co-pilot DuShawn Piddlestone and Flight Attendant LaTonkra Bullsperm. Remember! If you try to leave before takeoff your name will be entered in the Federal Racist Registry!

What’s even more ridiculous than this degree is that his parents will show up to accept it. I might gain a modicum of respect for them if they announced that this is too stupid even for them. Now, if he gets his master’s degree, that’s altogether different.

I refuse to believe this school has an accredited Aeronautical Science program. I see it is an approved Cessna Flight school but learning how to fly a Cessna Skyhawk and being an aeronautical engineer are not the same thing. Even here, I suspect a Trayvon would be a menace to aviation in anything more than a hang glider!

This is another absurdity during a time of peaking
absurdity. Other than recognizing that reality…
who cares? Best to the deceased’s parents, no one
wants the life they have ended up with. Maybe this
recognition will be a comfort to them. Or, and also,
it might lead to a Nobel prize for the creation of BLM?

Oh noes!……….Now every niggah will want one demanding that they are entitled. How much is this going to cost?

Well they get the equivalent to a living wage (housing/EBT/healthcare/utilities/phone) without WORKING, so why shouldn’t they get a college degree without actually ATTENDING?

Yeah, I get it. I also don’t see the harm of it. Dude’s dead so he won’t be flying anyone into a mountain. Frankly I applaud the school for it’s 16%-36% graduation rate…it means while their admissions policies are generous, it doesn’t hand out diplomas like skittles. Good for them. If the students fail to measure up to the unearned opportunity to advance themselves they had been given, it’s all upon them, as it should be.

I mean fuckin A, compare this with the esteemed Ivy League, where not only a considerable number gain admission because of who they are (W, anyone?), but once in, just about every damned one of them graduate with honors. WTF is up with that shit?

I prefer the black college approach. Given them a chance, then hold them accountable.

I say give Travon an honorary degree in law as well.
And how about astrophysics–why not?!!

Load him up with everything you can imagine–as long as he is still dead.

In his current “dead state” he can do no more harm to this country.
Goodie! Goodie!!

I still can’t believe Travon is dead… He had so much to live for! He had planned on using his posthumous degree to design individual flying cars, cars that ran off of the free-energy generator which he was working on. Now that Travon is dead, the world will have to continue enduring such things as poverty, hunger, sex slavery, politicians, venomous snakes and liver spots. The world could have been so very, very, much BETTER with such a super-genius to light our way out of darkness. Alas… alas…. ALAS!

Is he being awarded this degree by a Black college for attacking a White guy and trying to bash his brains out on a cement walkway or maybe for some good he did like getting himself killed in the process of attempted murder or for what? I suspect that the graduates of that Black college accomplished little more than Travon to get their degrees. Trump should bring the country back to “Equal Under the Law” but Black colleges will not appreciate that.

Dear Florida Memorial University;

While I am happy to see a fine up standing Bro receive an honor he surely would have achieved, if given a chance, I am deeply upset at being dissed by your University. I am mad, y’all!! While I wasn’t martyred like Tray, (but dead now) I was severely beaten merely for being a Brother who didn’t do nothing wrong. It happened to me first. Not just that but my incident was way more better and more pure than Tray’s. How? Well, I was beaten by actual white guys who were real life cops too! Tray was killed by a “white Hispanic” who was only pretended to be a cop. C’mon man!! Everyone knows ain’t no such thing as a Hispanic who is a cracker! It ain’t fair either that my beat down was done with a white President, so he couldn’t say “if I had a son” and all. That ain’t my fault. I deserve a degree too.
