Dear Democrats / Media: ICYMI Last Night Was A Referendum On You, Not Trump

Tyler Durden's picture

For months now the entire country has been forced to listen as Democrats and the media prematurely boasted about the Georgia special election being a ‘yuge’ referendum on the Trump administration.  Guess what, it wasn’t.

Democrats lost last night not because ‘Russia’ stole the election, not because it rained in Dekalb county and supressed the minority vote and not because Trump is doing an amazing job…Democrats lost again last night because Americans are sick and tired of mainstream, corrupt politicians, tired of the millions of dollars that flowed into Ossoff’s bank accounts from San Francisco in an apparent attempt to buy a house seat and tired of the fake media narratives on Russian hacking.

What’s more, Democrats lost despite playing all the games they always play to give themselves an edge.  Democrats spent more money on this race than any in the history of congressional races, outspending Handel by a margin of 7-to-1…but it didn’t matter.

GA

Democrats lost despite crying out ‘minority voter suppression’ and running to a judge to keep polls open longer in heavily Democratic areas while other polling stations closed on time…because there is no way there were any “technical glitches” in Fulton or Cobb county throughout the day…just in Democrat neighborhoods.  But it didn’t matter.

Democrats lost despite CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, Wapo, etc blasting out fake narratives on Russian hacking 24/7…an all out propaganda blitz…millions of dollars worth free air time for the Democrat cause…but it didn’t matter.

And Democrats lost depite their best efforts to once again use aggressive “oversamples” to rig polling data.  As we pointed out last night, the Real Clear Politics average had Ossoff winning by 5 points just last week…for those keeping track that’s a roughly 10-point polling ‘error’ from how things actually turned out….but it didn’t matter.

RCP

So, last night was a referendum, but it was a referendum on Democrats and the media, not Trump.

Luckily, at least one liberal talk show host seems to be willing to admit the truth this morning:

“This should be a wake-up call for the Democratic Party, who has been doing nothing but losing since 2010 in these legislative races.”

“I heard last night Ossoff say, we’ve started something great. No, you lost. At some point, the time for moral victories is over. Sometimes winning is just about winning.”

To summarize:

But, by all means, keep putting up mainstream candidates, keep spending massive sums of money, keep rigging polls and crying out voter suppression…it didn’t work for Hillary or Ossoff…but we bet it will work next time.

“I heard last night Ossoff say, we’ve started something great. No, you lost. At some point, the time for moral victories is over. Sometimes winning is just about winning.”

As Vince Lombardi said: “Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing”.

The Republicans and the New Right won again yesterday.

Wonder what excuses and blame the Democrats and other Leftists will be using to explain it as anything other than the voters simply rejecting them?

No matter…the Demorats and the Republican’ts are still pond scum in the swamp .

They both want the same thing..to rule over us with an Iron Fist . The only difference is their methods for achieving it .

This was important because it is an early indicator of whether or not voters are turning on Trump-at this point it does not seem that they are.
As for the candidate, not sure how good she’ll be-I believe she is a moderate who was beaten up politically because she’s pro life so that made her a conservative darling.
Speaking of Trump,Ed posted this over on another thread a couple of days ago after most of the comments had stopped so I’m putting it here

Two things. One, don’t waste your time posting things from various shemales about why Trump is going to fail. His face will be on the hundred dollar bill in our lifetime. Second, Trump spent 56 million to win the Repug nomination, against 16 other candidates, including Jeb, who spent 120 million. The dims just spent 30 million to lose a house seat, one of 435. Think about that. Last night WAS a referendum on Trump. Think about that.

Well, star, Trump is over there tweeting a nanny-nanny-booboo message at the dims about a state election while the intelligence agencies bore holes in the hull of his boat. It might be time for you to prepare yourself for the possibility that Trump is retarded.

Tampa….thanx for posting that link. About 4 years ago, a female told me that we needed more regulations. I have to go along with Gary North – our Gov’t is a Big bloated unstoppable beast.

Trump could make a dent if a CONgress supported him.

Karen Handel is about as establishment as you can get. She just managed to get a few more votes than her nearest competitor out of 8 candidates in the primary. Hardly a rock-solid endorsement.

True, against the dim, she won by default. I wasn’t watching the primary. The voters voted against Ossof and she was the only other establishment candidate. It’s the same way Trump won. Clinton was such a roundly despised asshole, that Trump looked like the only choice, which he was because of the way the electoral system is rigged.

Speaking of balls, someone in your fair(y) city better show some and stand up to Les Miller and stop his efforts to remove the Confederate monument from in front of the old courthouse, as well as changing the name of Robert E. Lee elementary school. Et tu Hillsborough County Commission? Enough is enough. Don’t be like New Orleans. The removal of Confederate monuments will not solve the problem of race in any fashion.

There’s a county commission meeting today about a Confederate statue that is located on county property.
The lefty racists have been rebuffed so far so we’ll see what happens.
There’s are active Confederacy groups in this area and they saw what was happening in other cities so they have been rallying people for months.

That’s good news, TR. I just wonder how long it will be before they try again to get rid of it, and the 4-3 margin is not really comfortable. I was hoping something like 6-1. Miller is a trouble maker trying to make a name for himself while trying to shame his white counterparts, IOW, trying to improve race relations..right.

Thanks, Tampa Red. I picked up a copy of the TBT an hour or so ago. Yes, the masthead and front page pic are gag-inducing. The picture is so TBT – always spewing left wing propaganda and claiming it is truth. Polti-fact is a case in point.

Notice that Christ, Hagan, Murman and White all voted to keep the monument, but all four are up for re-election next year. I agree, 5-10 years, tops. The idea that taking down the monument will promote healing as the school board lady claimed is absolutely absurd. They’re all still pissed that they can’t do anything about the 30x60ft Confederate battle flag at I-4 and I-275.

Unfortunately, I suspect in the arrogant halls of power this just means that they need to be more sneaky, underhanded and spend more money on diverting people’s attention from issues. Those in power have no intention of leaving quietly, and are COMPLETELY deaf to the wants of the “people”. The ONLY thing the swamp is going to understand is when the citizens of this country have had enough, and with a loud metaphoric yell, tell Washington, and to a smaller extent, their local governments – no more. Period.
I am afraid that is going to come from a financial collapse, as it will 1. Focus the rich (who currently own the government – lock – stock and barrel) on managing to stay wealthy instead of on social justice nonsense, and 2. When the average sheeple loses their job, they tend to wake up from their fat and happy slumber of retard television and keeping up with their fellow sheep. That will start the ball rolling. Then, the momentum will build from there.
The fed basically took away our ability as a citizenry to control the government. Our only voting power historically has been our power over the purse, hence the saying “people vote their wallets”. Once printing started, it effectively nationalized America. The owners were able to get control, not by intelligent allocation of finite resources, but by simply being connected to the right banks, and the right politicians. We were removed from the equation.
Now “elections” are just for show. Oh, Donald’s election, and this one above show what the people want, however it is nothing more than a “indicator” for the top echelons. We have NO real enforcement power anymore, because WE don’t control the allocation of resources.

Yesterday the voters of Georgia sent a message. It wasn’t to the Democrats but to the media. The media has been sniping, fabricating, advocating and publishing 1/2 truths and outright lies since the November elections. The people have decided that the media are liars and aren’t believing any of their crap. Republicans had better get on board and help the President because we don’t think much of them either.

I think it’s kinda pitiful the way the voters swing back and forth from one party to the other. They will vote democrat until the democrats cornhole them, then switch and vote for the republicans until the republicans cornhole them, then they switch back to the democrats and bend over, waiting for the inevitable.

It doesn’t seem to occur to most of them that this whole voting thing just ain’t working out.

How many millions did the wealthy Calif liberals spend trying to buy themselves another representative? And take one away from the people of Georgia?

Liberals seem to be not only hell bent on turning the US into Venezuela, but in pushing the boundaries of every conceivable degeneracy in the process.

As someone who sadly lives in the district, I can tell you that I am absolutely ecstatic that the election is over. I really don’t give a shit who won as both parties are the same. I am ecstatic because I have been getting up to 5 separate ads every day in my mail and up to 15 robocalls a day (including from Mitt Romney, Saxby Chambliss (former US Senator), Johnny Isackson (current US Senator), and countless other folks whose endorsement of Karen Handel only further supports my contention that BOTH worthless major parties need to go), and am assaulted at every turn on every station by non-stop ads for these two clowns.

One station was getting so many ad requests (from Ossoff) that they added another hour of news broadcasts just to fit in all the ads. So essentially Ossoff bought the local news. At least this time it was out in the open.

Meanwhile we are all supposed to pretend that what we have in this country is “representative government.” HA! When our country was founded, we has 1 US House member for every 25,000 citizens. Today that is 1 for every 750,000 to 1,000,000 – a reduction in “representation” by 30x and more! When a company has too many customers to serve, they open new stores. But back in 1911, along with all the other horrible Progressive measures that were foisted upon the American people, the Congress FIXED the total number of House members at 435. Since 1911, the US population has grown over 3 1/2 times yet NO MORE REPRESENTATION. When you go back historically, we have grown a nation nearly 100x in population. Yet no 100X increase in the size of the US House. Spending just since 1911 has increased 6,069 TIMES! Revenue (how much they steal) has increased 5,270 TIMES!!! And yet NOT ONE ADDITIONAL REPRESENTATIVE to speak on behalf of the people since then. Could there be a coincidence???

I know what you mean, jellybean. To me, there’s nothing more annoying than an election. After every election, the property owners are the ones who end up cleaning up the trashy ‘vote for tweedledum’ signs. That’s the least of what has to be cleaned up, too.
