Ruger has come out with a new 9mm pistol called THE CONGRESSMAN. It doesn’t work and you can’t fire it.

Except Rugers, for all their faults, usually go bang. That sounds more like a Kimber.

Ouch, I’d never heard that; I thought Kimber was supposed to be premium stuff.

Never had one though, since I’m a Sig Sauer guy myself.

Kimber is expensive and is made to appeal to people who are looking for status symbols. Not that they don’t make OK guns, but the price is greater than the quality, IMHO. I have personally watched a yuppie with a Kimber have nonstop jams in her 1911 (which she really wasn’t qualified for) at a class. I cured the jams by giving her X rounds of .45 ACP from Brand A to replace the same # from her Brand B; ironically Brand B is considered at least as high quality, telling me it’s a gun issue.

Ruger pistols are tied with Glock for boring reliability, durability, and lack of grace or flair.

Sigs all depend on the year made. They were premium a long time ago, they were low quality for a good chunk of last decade, and I guess they are back to being made at least OK these days.

Ya, Kimber is mainly a ‘look at me’ gun. They tend to be ammo picky. Many 1911’s that are made to exact specifications of the originals have trouble chambering modern rounds that are shaped different, especially modern hollowpoints. The shape of the barrel’s throat is slightly different, making these rounds get frequently hung up, especially as the gun gets dirty. The reason the woman was having trouble could also be an issue of ‘limp wristing’ when firing. Kimbers and Para’s are bad about that. If you want a quality 1911 that also has a name brand, get a springfield armory, they look great and cost a hell of a lot less than a kimber and work better.

Kimber’s also have a 500 round break in period. If she showed up without firing it much, that could be it.

Ive always been a glock guy. Boring reliability, all day every day. Cleaning them? Sure, if you want to, but I’ve gone through a couple matches without cleaning my 34, just to see if anything would happen, and it hasn’t had any kind of failure at all. I’ve never had a single issue with a ruger, either, nor a sig.

Gator, we have the same experiences! I have three Springfield Armory 1911s, one base and two mid level, and all work fine and have done so from day 1.

Kimber quality, limp wristing, and excessive extractor tension are all possible culprits for yuppie lady and her Kimber. Who knows. The ammo that jammed for her was Speer Lawman practice ammo, incidentally – generally considered just fine. I can’t remember if I traded her UMC or Winchester but it was another common, standard-quality US brand. Her Lawman ammo worked 100% in my SA 1911s, of course.

Likewise I carry a Glock daily, shoot another in competition, and have had no problems with either one, ever.

Trump’s being stiffed by his own party. Nothing will be allowed to threaten the status quo. Nothing.

UNrecon- 2018 is about the party not Trump, Repugnants that are up for reelection. Trump could help in their bid by campaigning, but would you help them after two years of Mexican stand off over every issue? Could be just in the script, I don’t know.

Unrecon- Not really and I’ll tell you why, families are worn out by getting it up the backside on healthcare premiums and taxes. I don’t think anything will be done to give them relief this year, do you? This is not healthy for our country and I have to wonder why people keep chasing the daily divide and conquer schtick while the wheels are coming off the bus.

BL: You state “I don’t think anything will be done to give them relief this year, do you?”
I think stripped of its facade the ACA is the largest tax increase the Feds have been able to foist on the productive cattle in over half a century. Once it was enacted into law I knew they might tweak it a little bit but it would never be overturned. No way is the government going to give that up. They’re drowning in debt and starved for cash. Read an article today that Sessions just gave the green light to step up civil asset forfeitures. My advice going forward. Pay your taxes and stay small.

So many liberals to fire, so little time.

Seems pretty straight-forward to me: all Trump has to do is have a press conference where he comes out and says if congress doesn’t repeal Obamacare and take on tax reform then he will make it his #1 job to primary every incumbent in Congress running for office in 2018, Democrat or Republican.

Sounds good, but who will pay for it? The big money machine that finances all of these people will go against him, and it will be a struggle that mainly helps the left.

I don’t think the status quo realizes how dangerous their little game could be. Trump was us being polite, working within the system. Im not making threats or anything like that, but flyover country is getting sick of this shit. They seem to think this was some kind of fluke, and that we will ‘learn our lesson and vote correctly’ next time around. Some kind of status quo candidate like Jeb! will get elected, and things can keep going as they have been, with the country drifting steadily leftwards and downwards while the GOP provides token, but ineffectual, opposition to this. You know, the same thing thats ‘worked’ for the last 30 years of more.

Thats not in the cards, folks. I don’t pretend to know how this ends, but it ain’t like that.

TC and Gator- Exactly, this system is rigged for the elites even if a president were to ever take the people’s side in earnest. That is what Trump should do.
