“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

The beauty of this message is that until then Israel had been bound to the law in such a way as not to be able to experience the true freedom that only a relationship with Jesus can bring. He offered them deliverance from this if they would simply trust in Him for their daily needs and especially their need for victory over mankind’s arch enemy, death.
This is because Jesus’ yoke is spiritual life that until then was only natural. The constant work of survival. Now, with His help, they could experience something they had never experienced before. The assurance of an eternal home where love, joy, and peace reign supreme.
