Hollywood’s summer box office flopped.
Revenues are down nearly 16 percent–a precipitous drop from last year. The NFL ratings are also crashing. “Thursday Night Football” is down 13 percent from last year and fewer fans are attending games. The Emmys ratings have also cratered. What’s causing these declines? It could be that leftist politics are being injected into American entertainment.
It is my sincere desire to provide readers of this site with the best unbiased information available, and a forum where it can be discussed openly, as our Founders intended. Hollywood continues to spew out the same politically correct kitsch. Their movies have become too formulaic and repetitive. There are too many comic book movies chalk full of computer graphics showing crass, physics-defying violence. And of course, political correctness is always the number one priority. Then we’re expected to endure condescending lectures about climate change and social justice from the overpaid actors who show up at the Oscars.
The NFL’s decline is due to too much political correctness as well as the feminization of men. We are supposed to fret about overpaid athletes getting concussions, which can later lead to permanent brain damage. This used to be part of the game. It has always been violent. Like boxing, such violence is part of the attraction. Don’t want to be punch drunk? Don’t box or play football. It’s their choice and they know the risks. It’s difficult for a lot of ticket buyers to feel sympathy for players who command multi-million dollar contracts and then worry about getting injured.
More rules and penalties made the game safer while also rendering it boring.
Colin Kaepernick took a knee and began the current national anthem protests. Many players can’t even articulate why they are insulting our country. Maybe something somewhere past present or future is not equal. To them, America is not perfect and must be disrespected until it is.
Why can’t they protest on their own time? Last week, a Seattle anthem sitter also gave the black power fist salute after making a tackle. It’s now on the field. Sure, it’s his free speech, but it’s our free speech to speak out against it and stop supporting the NFL. If they can dole out fines for those giving the finger to the crowd or making lewd dances after a score, they can certainly hand out stiff fines to the sitters.
The latest Emmy award show hit a new low when they devolved into a Trump hate fest. No matter what size screen, the lefty actors seem to think we’re fascinated by their Trump bashing. It has become both tiresome and predictable.
We’ve been seeing Silicon Valley and social media companies try to excoriate conservative voices from the Internet. The big money media and entertainment arms are starting to lose revenue, subscribers and viewers. They’ve long been accustomed to controlling the levers of our culture, but now they’re pushing those levers even more vigorously and blatantly toward collectivism. Americans can boycott and stop participating.

I want me and mine to withdraw. I want us to group together and simply work and trade with each other, and operate under basically the rules that were around about 110 years ago. I’d settle for the early 1960’s. No unequal treatment before the law (ie. NO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.) No forcing landlords to rent to whom they do not wish to. No forcing desegregation. Teachers who push faggotry and queers get FIRED. Pedophiles don’t get a registry, they get an unmarked grave.
I want a return to the Norman Rockwell painting of my youth, when the government was not in the business of wealth redistribution from the middle class to the top and to the bottom. When engineers and other white collar workers could get a haircut from a barber who made enough money doing that to raise a family of four.

It is like when you eat something that makes you sick. No matter how good it used to taste, you never ever want to eat it again.
Over paid actors and athletes, throw in college aged SJWs who are driving down some enrollments (Missouri). I don’t watch them on TV period, glad my daughter went to a middle of the road school in the south and is out on her own with a good job.

I cut the chord on cable over 8 years ago and I don’t regret it in the slightest. Why pay $200 a month to support Hollywood believing they have the privileged position to lecture to me and try to force their thinking down my throat? But that’s what all liberals and leftists believe…. that they and “they” alone know what best for everyone and we should all just toe their line. It’s fine for them to make money off of cronyism and corruption and squash all other free enterprise. Their millions are theirs and so is your one dollar because there is a tax on your existence due to the CO2 and methane your mouth and ass puts into the environment. Al Gore really cares about making millions and could give a rats ass about the environment….. China is turning the Yangtze River into a chemical and biological superfund, but how dare I squash a blade of grass in some collection of water that EPA now wants to claim as a riparian zone under Federal jurisdiction. The average American, I would like to believe, is sick and tired to the crap coming from the left, but attention spans are small and soon Mrs. Obummer will run for office and start this whole sh#t storm again. Oh…. I am sorry but with less than 3% of the American population identify as gay or whatever other acronym is popular…. why does every show have a LGBT representative pushing a deviant lifestyle as normal and acceptable…. ugh! Live and let live, but they’ve ruined the rainbow for me forever.

This is because they live in a bubble surrounded by others who think exactly like they do. It is probably beyond their comprehension that so many of us disagree with their ideas of how the world should work. I have always know most actors were raging leftists, and didn’t care that much because they had the good sense to shut the fuck up about it. But, nowadays thats become increasingly rare. They seem to think that because they are famous, we should be grateful for their lectures and proclamations. But, their status as a celebrity means nothing to me, all I look for when watching some things is a couple hours of mindless entertainment, same with sports. I quit watching much of either because they have stopped leaving their personal politics out of it. Obviously Im not the only one, since their ratings are dropping so much.
Something else they don’t seem to realize is that their social status and wealth are entirely dependent on working and middle class white people, the very ones they seem to intent on angering. Without us, those theaters will be empty, and their action figures and other such nonsense will not be purchased for our children. The NFL’s stadiums will be increasingly empty, and those NFL Sunday tickets will be cancelled or just not renewed for next season. This means Anheiser-Busch will not be spending millions of dollars advertising their products to an audience that has become devoid of their principle demographic. These trends can take years to play out, which means one of two things has to happen for them to maintain their wealth and lifestyles – they either have to convince the majority of people to become self hating SJWs like them, or they have to accept that we aren’t interested in their personal politics, and go back to how they acted as recently as a decade ago and just shut the fuck up about it. Since option 1 isn’t likely, and their collective arrogance and self-sustaining hubris prevents them from taking option 2, it looks like the decline will continue. Good riddance.
I just hope Mel Gibson comes out with a new movie. I’d pay to see it this time.

I can’t speak to those sitting out the National Anthem, it seems like a freedom of speech issue to me. Perhaps if the citizenry felt that the govt, which for all practical purposes IS the country, respected them in some tiny way, the citizenry might not feel the need to sit it out.
The National Anthem to me is more about a piece of fabric that survived a battle more than anything else. That piece of fabric stood for something noble back then. Today? Not so much. I respect and appreciate the land and the hardworking people who still pull their own weight but I have no use for the rest of it as it has become downright inhospitable for honest, hardworking people.
Oh yeah, fuck the elitist pricks in Hollywood too! Producers and directors included! They rarely add anything of value to this country. They’re a bunch of self serving morans whose very survival depends on the worship of sheople.
I turned off the cable around 1990 or so. Dont know, dont care, dont like being prompted to laugh at nothing funny, dont like the underlying messages, dont like much of anything about cable TV. I buy mostly used DVDs & CDs so little to none of my $$ goes to anything even remotely Hollywood.
Radio is no better with very few live DJs actually playing requests or new innovative stuff outside of the rare college station. Fuck it all. Dont participate. Starve the bastards. Support local talent.
The change has been so gradual that regular TV watchers may not notice. I just got a DVD set of the original Twilight zone (1959 to 1964 or so). Each 1/2 hr. episode is… 25 to 26 minutes of show with only one commercial break during the show, one after the intro, & one at the end before credits.

We bought a set of Outer Limits, several seasons of some favorite shows and a collection of MST3K that has served us well with snarky comments and snide observations.
We have a actual antenna on our log home… We get a few channels, none of them worth a shit.
Add the “Nobel Peace Prize” for incorrigible wasters of life & limb.

The entire “entertainment” industry seems to be there in order to “normalize” deviant behavior. If enough people TELL you sodomy is a “choice” then you should believe it and agree, right?

As soon as the advertisers start waking up, and realizing their product liability extends to the individuals who represent their products and are costing them sales, they are done. In the end dealing with the self righteous, fools of hollywood, sports, etc. is going to be economic. There are more of us than them. We spend the money, as a percentage of the total. We will determine the future for these people. You can already see it in movie attendance and pro ball. I know longer shop for a movie, I look for who is in it, and if they are on my list, I do not go and neither does my family. Nothing with Schumer, Clooney, Baldwin, Kimmel, Streep, the list goes on and on. I do not go to Starbucks anymore, or target, or Macys. As a corporation owner I used to give out thousand of dollars of starbuck gift cards to clients, and switched to a less socialist progressive organization as a way of thanking clients.
