If ever there was an example where winning a war ultimately proved to be a disaster for the victor this is one. The ‘greatest’ generation saw the benefits of being unscathed while the rest a world was in ruins and did fine for the rest of their lives. And expanding gov’t programs paid them big dividends. Now we and our children will reap the whirlwind-economically and politically.

There is ONLY ONE solution to the problem of the NSA, the CIA, and every level of the National Security State – complete and total abolition – combined with extensive trials for all the crimes they have committed. It would not only send the right message to Americans, but would also finally send the right message to all the countries around the world that appropriately hate us for what these organizations have done to/in their countries.

I fear the only way to kill these rogue org’s is to kill their sources of funding. As CONgress or the President(s) don’t have the balls for this, I fear only the long delayed monetary collapse may do the trick.
Even then these outfits have tentacles everywhere, and may require more forceful efforts to root out.
They would need to immediately end the war on drugs and encourage all other nations to do the same first. The CIA has been making billions off heroin since the “Air America” program during the Vietnam war, the crack epidemic they created/fueled during the 80s/90s, and the current global heroin distribution network they run out of the poppy fields and US military bases in Afghanistan (you don’t think all those coffins are filled with dead US service men, do you?). POWER in the hands of the government is the primary driver. All the rest they can figure out so long as drugs, prostitution, and gambling continue to be illegal. No different from any organized crime syndicate.
They know who you are, they know where your loved ones are, they know all your pressure points.

The CIA is undoubtedly a hereditary monarchy by now, a Government-within-a-government. It answers to no one, and obviously whacked the Kennedys for trying to dismantle it.
It’s going nowhere. Only if its heads practice nepotism to the point of idiocy will it end, and only after several generations of imbeciles are installed in its management by their daddies.

if we abolished these agencies instead of reforming them,where would we get our foreign intel?
is the rest of the world so benign that w/out us causing trouble,everyone in the world could just sit around and drink tea and sing kumbaya?
