What I find more disgusting is the gross ignorance of 90+% of the population who conflate the federal income tax with the creation/maintenance, etc. of roads, running water, schools, and so much more in our society that (right or wrong) is handled at a purely state or local level or by defined taxes like gasoline taxes, property taxes, etc. You would think that when the government is STEALING roughly 50% of your wealth in taxes every years they would care a bit more about what it is being STOLEN for.
Well, perhaps there was a day when that was the case … but no longer. The Fed Gov has its hand in virtually every ‘public works’ construction project you see. In our rural OK county, in order upgrade paving on a county road (not Hwy, Road) they had to have approval and cost sharing from Fed Gov. I assume from my reading of other news stories that this is pretty much the MO everywhere today – as almost every story I read explicitly mentions and identifies Federal funds for every menial project imaginable.

Ed, just one problem with that statement – NO ONE is forcing you to GO TO WORK and MAKE THE MONEY they steal from you. Initially, yes, you must work in some way to gain the original money needed to begin your life, however, once you reach the number, and everyone has a number, that you become independent from needing to work, then it becomes a case of you working to enrich everyone else.
Debt is the ONLY thing keeping most people from telling the government to fuck themselves. There is need to pay for property taxes, gas, and utilities, however, most people could pay for those things by working for less than 4 months, even at a menial job. This would NOT be enough, if everyone did it, to fund the largess of even the local city council. WE, because of this misguided need to have a “lifestyle” directly aid and abet this wholesale theft of our rights, war with other nations, personal liberty lost etc. MONEY is the life blood of the medical monopolies, the government goons, the lawyers, the banksters etc. Obamacare was a sign that the voluntary side of the system petered out. Force is then applied to continue to force you to pay for it, with a side order of fear, based on common beliefs (if you don’t have health insurance, you will die). However, as of yet, I am not aware of a law, or force being applied that says you have to get a new car loan every 5 years, a new home every 7 (the average time in which a person stays in the same home), and need to continue paying $230.00 / month to Comcast or Time Warner, or Cox for propaganda to be directly piped to your home. Am I missing something here?
The IRS and the thugs certainly can come after you, imprison you etc. if you evade the tax, under color of law, however I am not aware of a thug or accountant at IRS that can force you to continue the rat race just so you can get a bigger house, newer car, or cable TV.
