Not exactly sure what this is supposed to reflect, but my wife’s mother’s side of the family are French Canadian and so is my mom’s side of my family. Indeed, it proved a very nice route into the US back when honest, hard-working northern Europeans came to this country to better it….not mooch off it.

Simple really.
The US has ten times the population of Canada.
The US at about 330 million and Canada at about 33 million people.
The thing everyone forgets is, 80% of the Canadian population lives within 400 miles of the border!
True north strong and free? Not so much north. Cold enough near the border in Winter, let alone any farther north. Its REALLY cold up there!
