From Superpower to Incompetence

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

Having grown up during the second half of the 20th century, I don’t recognize my country today. I experienced life in a competent country, and now I experience life in an incompetent country.

Everything is incompetent. The police are incompetent. They shoot children, grandmothers, cripples, and claim that they feared for their life.

Washington’s foreign police is incompetent. Washington has alienated the world with its insane illegal attacks on other countries. Today the United States and Israel are the two most distrusted countries on earth and the two countries regarded as the greatest threat to peace.

The military/security complex is incompetent. The national security state is so incompetent that it was unable to block the most humiliating attack in history against a superpower that proved to be entirely helpless as a few people armed with box cutters and an inability to fly an airplane destroyed the World Trade Center and part of the Pentagon itself. The military industries have produced at gigantic cost the F-35 that is no match for the Russian fighters or even for the F-15s and F-16s it is supposed to replace.

The media is incompetent. I can’t think of an accurate story that has been reported in the 21st century. There must be one, but it doesn’t come to mind.

The universities are incompetent. Instead of hiring professors to teach the students, the universities hire administrators to regulate them. Instead of professors, there are presidents, vice presidents, chancellors, vice chancellors, provosts, vice provosts, assistant provosts, deans, associate deans, assistant deans. Instead of subject matter there is speech regulation and sensitivity training. Universities spend up to 75% of their budgets on administrators, many of whom have outsized incomes.

The public schools have been made incompetent by standardized national testing. The purpose of education today is to pass some test. School accreditation and teachers’ pay depend not on developing the creativity or independent thinking of those students capable of it, but on herding them through memory work for a standardized test.

One could go on endlessly.

Instead, I will relate a story of everyday incompetences that have prevented me from writing this week and for a few more days yet.

Recently, while away from my home, a heavy equipment operator working on a nearby construction site managed to drive under power lines with the fork lift raised. Instead of breaking the wire, it snapped the pole in half that conveyed electric power to my house. The power company came out, or, as I suspect, an outsourced contractor, who reestablished power to my home but did not check that the neutral wire was still attached. Consequently for a week or so my house experiened round the clock surges of high voltage that blew out the surge protection, breaker box, and every appliance in the house. Expecting my return, the house was inspected, and the discovery was that there was no power. Back came the power company and discovered that high voltage was feeding into the house and had destroyed everything plugged in.

So. Here we have a moron operating heavy equipment who does not understand that he cannot drive under power lines with the lift raised. We have a power company or its outsourced contractor who does not understand that power cannot be reconnected without making certain that the neutral wire is still connected.

So every appliance is fried. Glass everywhere from blown out light bulbs. We are talking thousands of dollars.

This is America today. And the incompetents ruling incompetents want war with Iran, Korea, Russia, China. Considering the extraordinary level of incompetence throughout the United States, I guarantee you that we will not win these wars.

Had to stop here:
“I experienced life in a competent country, and now I experience life in an incompetent country.”

It only looked competent. The fix was in for sure and certain in 1913 and almost certainly as early as 1775. What PCR saw as competency was just a thin veneer over the rot within. Only difference now is that even the veneer is showing signs of serious rot.

It’s not incompetence but rather corruption. The vast majority of the “bad” things cited here were done by design, not by accident.

This is your illegal aliens and ignorant backwards-ass legal immigrants in action. We get all sorts of that stupid shit where I live. I’ve watched the city bus run nearly a quarter mile up the road in the oncoming traffic lane to avoid backed-up cars, nearly causing a head-on collision. I’ve been on the local bus, only to be kidnapped when the moron driver randomly ran up an exit ramp to wander completely around lost while the passengers all yelled instructions to the driver. I’ve watched the various dump trucks, many of which are also illegal (fake registrations and plates), nearly kill people. They’re real cunts on the road. The illegals working in food prep cause food-borne illness because concepts of modern health and hygiene are foreign to them. In one incident in NC, a family restaurant poisoned scores of people because the illegals in the kitchen slaughtered a goat without the owner’s knowledge and failed to adequately clean up the offal. My neighbors successfully busted Verizon for employing terd worlderz who didn’t speak English trying to rip up their yard without permission. They ran out to confront this unexpected crew of illegals, none of whom spoke English, as they got ready to tear up their yard without permission or forewarning. Local law requires a minimum of one member of the crew to speak English, but none did. They raised so much hell, Verizon almost lost all permission to work in this city. Go out to eat and watch your order be completely screwed up, too. Diversity is a curse.

Welcome to Atlas Shrugged. Incompetent terd world douchebags are ruining your country.

I couldn’t help noticing immediately below PCR’s column decrying American incompetence were all the usual smutty TBP click-bait (or is that “click-BATE?”) ads. That this is the kind of media that thrives here in the “shining city” might go some way toward explaining what PCR is griping about.

You forgot to mention Hillary’s campaign for President, one of the most incompetent I’ve ever seen. Donna Brazile’s book details how her advice, which was informed by decades of actual experience, was ignored by young wonks who spent all day looking at data. For some reason, they thought that because they knew computers, they had the advantage over a person who knew people and politics. Apparently, Bill Clinton’s advice was also disregarded. Like him or not, he knew how to win.

There is always some arrogance always associated with youth, but because of their upbringing, this new generation really do think they are special, and it is their job to teach, rather than to learn. Perhaps they will take some responsibility for the loss. Nah, they’ll just blame the Russians.

Societies age like humans. My father is descending into the depths of dementia day by day- he is 72. When I watch him trying to do the simplest tasks, or when he talks about being on somones list, or wanting to check out the neighbor’s work van in the middle of the night because he is being spied on, or claims someone is pissing in his bed from the ceiling, it breaks my heart. That is what is happening to the US government and the society it rules- it is political and social Alzheimers writ large.

Bad analogy; your dad’s brain’s aging is quazi normal but these things aren’t: Affirmative Action, Open Borders, nightly unmarked CIA flights from the Middle East carrying Muslims and drugs, Planned Multicultural Diversity Destruction, Cultural Communism, Busing, Homosexual Marriage, legal Dope, nightly urban automatic weapons drops, abortion, pornography, gerrymandering, PC Universities, Free Speech Zones, Welfare being passed out like Halloween candy, Liberal Dumbed Down Christ Free Public Schools, etc etc have all been crammed down the throats of Fly Over America. It’s way Past Time for the NeoCon ZOG Dogs to be sent packing to some other victim country to rape, plunder and destroy!

It absolutely blows me away about hydro contractors who do not understand the basic concept of a neutral, and that ALWAYS it has to hooked up and verified BEFORE energizing the the mains. I once saw a whole subdivision of homes having their electrical possessions blown away by incompetence. I believe the bill came to over half a million dollars back in ’77. Oh well at least they weren’t insouciant!!

The Anglo West is run by massive unaccountable bureaucracies, both public and private.

There is no accountability because there is no national interest to hold people accountable.

There is no national interest because there is no nation – it is every man and clan for himself.

Oh, and white women have been taught to hate, devalue, and destroy white men.

Other than that, things are just grand.

Die-versity is civilizational death

I see that from white women everywhere I’ve taught. The most spoiled, privileged women on Earth, yet always complaining about discrimination. What gets me is most are married to white men, yet complain about them ad infinitum.

I’ve heard minority women call white women “black man’s kryptonite”. It appears most white guys are also from Krypton because the ones married to libs look miserable.

Paul Craig Roberts tells it as it is.

Fact is, today Washington exports war, death and terrorism. They import the goods stolen from it’s victims. Now, Washington, Wall Street and the military-industrial-complex are asset-stripping this nation in advance of ……. something. I don’t believe they have any intentions of balancing the books. I wonder where that 20 trillion went that the pentagon has disappeared since 1998?

I’ve got $20 says this country will not exist in a few years. Can’t say I’ll be sorry to see it go.

“Its the end of the world and I feel fine”
video a bit dated but still, I try to face the fact that life is suffering – from fearing loss of attachments I wish not to lose. So I face life as the Shinto have done for centuries. I try to dance and hope for good music. I even put on a clown face sometimes.

Edit, damn gremlins. I tried to post a video titled End of the World

Check this out. https://www.ij.org/images/pdf_folder/economic_liberty/occupational_licensing/licensetowork.pdf

Licenses, permits, fees, certifications…You can’t do anything in America without permission. It’s like the old Soviet Union. Restraint of trade and tradecraft is the order of the day AKA “credentialism”.

It’s also seen in H.R. gatekeepers with useless degrees in H.R.-ing people to death; people that can’t even do the job choosing winners and losers from government to academia all based on meaningless pieces of permission paper.
